Your car comes with two master
keys and a valet key.
The master key fits all the locks on
your car:
 Ignition
 Doors
 Trunk pass-through cover
Glovebox
 Rear console compartmentThe valet key works only in the
ignition and the door locks. You can
keep the trunk pass-through cover,
glove box, and rear console
compartment locked when you leave
your car and the valet key at a
parking f acility.
Youshouldhavereceivedakey
number plate with your keys. You
will need this key number if you ever
have to get a lost key replaced. Keepthe plate stored in a saf e place. If you
need to replace a key, use only an
Acura-approved key blank.
These keys contain electronic
circuits that are activated by the
Immobilizer System. They will not
work to start the engine if the
circuits are damaged.
Protect the keys f rom direct
sunlight, high temperature, and
high humidity.
Donotdropthekeysorsetheavy
objects on them.
Keep the keys away f rom liquids.
If they get wet, dry them immedi-
ately with a soft cloth.
The keys do not contain batteries.
Do not try to take them apart.

The glove box light comes on only
when the parking lights are on. Open the glove box by squeezing the
handle. Close it with a f irm push.
Lock or unlock the glove box with
the master key.To open the rear console
compartment, pull up on the lever
and lif t the lid. To close, lower the lid
and push it down until it latches.
The rear console compartment can
be locked and unlocked only with the
master key. The rear console compartment is
located in the center of the rear seat.

An open glove box can cause
serious injury to your passenger
inacrash,evenifthe
passenger is wearing the seat
belt.
Always keep the glove box
closed while driving.

The lid of the console compartment
canbeusedasanarmrestbymoving
it f orward and backward. Make sure
the armrest is securely latched.The rear seat armrest is located at
the center of the rear seat. Pivot it
down to use it.
Make sure the passenger’s hands or
fingersareawayfromthearmrest
bef ore moving it.

To open the console compartment,
pull up on the lef t lever and lif t the
lid.
To close, lower the lid and push it
down until it latches.You can put small items in the tray
located in the console compartment
lid. To use the tray, pull up on the
right lever and lif t up the armrest
pad.
The coin box is located under the
audio system. To open the coin box,
pull the bottom edge. Close it with a
firm push.

To open the console pocket, swing
the upper edge of the lid down.To remove the pocket, open it, then
take it out of its hinges by lif ting it
up and out. Do not try to pull the
pocket out f orcibly. You could
damage it.

Your car has two accessory power
sockets. One is located on the f ront
panel next to the coin box, and the
other is in the console compartment.
To use an accessory power socket,
the ignition switch must be in
ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II).
To open the socket on the f ront
panel, pull the cover down.Tousethesocketintheconsole
compartment, pull the cover up.These sockets are intended to supply
power f or 12 volt DC accessories
that are rated 120 watts or less (10
amps).
They will not power an automotive
type cigarette lighter element.

The shif t lever has nine positions. It
must be in Park or Neutral to start
the engine. When you are stopped in
D,D,D,2,1,N,R,orthe
Sequential SportShif t mode, press
f irmly on the brake pedal and keep
your f oot of f the accelerator pedal.To select the Sequential SportShif t
mode, slide the shif t lever toward the
lef t f rom the ‘‘D ’’ position.
In this mode the shif t lever allows
youtoshiftupanddownmanually.
YoucannotshiftoutofParkwiththe
brake pedal depressed when the
ignition switch is in LOCK (0) or
ACCESSORY (I). Whenever you move the shif t lever,
slide it along the guide on the
console.
