Each f ront door has a master door
lock switch. Either switch locks and
unlocks all doors and the tailgate.
Push the top of the switch to lock all
doors and the tailgate; push the
bottom to unlock them.Each door has a lock tab next to the
inside door handle. When you pull
backward on the lock tab on the
driver’s door, all the doors and the
tailgate lock. Pushing f orward on the
lock tab on the driver’s door unlocks
only that door. The lock tab on the
each passenger’s door locks and
unlocks only that door.When the door is unlocked, you can
seetheredindicatoronthelocktab
next to the inside door handle.
All doors and the tailgate can be
locked f rom the outside by using the
key in the driver’s door lock. To
unlock only the driver’s door, insert
the key, turn the key, and release it.
The remaining doors and the tailgate
unlock when you turn the key a
second time within a f ew seconds.
You can change the ‘‘DOOR LOCK
MODE’’ setting on the multi-
inf ormation display (see page ).

To open the tailgate, press and hold
the switch, then lift up.To close the tailgate, hold the
tailgate handle, lower the tailgate,
then press down on the back edge.
Keep the tailgate closed at all times
while driving to avoid damaging the
tailgate and to prevent exhaust gas
f rom getting into the interior. See

The tailgate will lock when you lock
the driver’s door, and will unlock
when you unlock all doors.

When you press the UNLOCK
button, the ceiling lights (if the f ront
and rear ceiling light switches are in
the door activated position) will
come on. If you do not open any door,
the lights stay on for about 30
seconds, then f ade out. If you relock
the doors with the remote
transmitter before 30 seconds have
elapsed, the lights go of f
immediately.
Press this button once to
lock all doors and the tailgate. Some
exterior lights will f lash. When you
push LOCK twice within 5 seconds,
you will hear a beep to verify that the
doors and tailgate are locked and the
security system has set. This button
does not work if any door or tailgate
is not f ully closed.
To change the ‘‘KEYLESS LOCK
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT’’ setting,
see page . Press this button once
to unlock the driver’s door. Push it
twice to unlock the other doors.
Some exterior lights will f lash twice
when you push the button. If you do
not open any door or the tailgate
within 30 seconds, they will
automatically relock.

Here are the settings activated with
the remote;
When you unlock the driver’s door
with your remote, each remote
activates the keyless memory
settings related to that remote. The
driver’s ID (MEMORY 1 or
MEMORY 2) is shown on the back
of each remote. To turn of f this f eature, press and
hold the LOCK and UNLOCK
buttonsatthesametime.TheLED
in the remote will blink twice. Then
release the buttons. Doing this
cancels the keyless memory settings
f or that remote.
Driving position memory
(see page ).
To turn the keyless memory settings
back on, repeat this procedure. The
LED will blink once to indicate the
f eature has been turned on.
When you unlock and open the
driver’s door with the remote
transmitter, the driver’s seat (except
the power lumbar feature) and
outside mirrors start to move to the
positions stored in memory. The
indicator in the related memory

Each f ront and rear ceiling light has
a three-position switch.
Front ceiling lights:
In the ‘‘ ’’ position, both f ront
and rear ceiling lights are on all the
time except when the rear ceiling
light switch is in the OFF position.In the ‘‘ ’’ position, both f ront
and rear ceiling lights are of f all the
time.
With the f ront ceiling lights switch in
this position, the rear ceiling light
does not work, and both f ront and
rear ceiling lights do not come on
when you open any door.
Rear ceiling light:
You can use the rear ceiling light
independently. In the OFF position,
the light does not come on even if
the f ront ceiling light switch is in the
‘‘ ’’ position. In the ON position,
the light stays on continuously
except when the f ront ceiling light
switch is in the ‘‘ ’’ position.

Open any door.
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Unlock the doors with the key,
locktabonthedriver’sdoor,
master door lock switch, or
remote transmitter.
After all doors are closed tightly, the
light(s) dims slightly, then f ades out
in about 30 seconds. If you do not open any door af ter
unlocking the driver’s door or
removing the key from the ignition
switch, the light(s) f ade out in about
30 seconds. If you leave any door
open without the key in the ignition
switch, the light(s) will go of f af ter 3
minutes.
You can use the f ront ceiling lights
whenever the lights are of f .

The courtesy lights in the ceiling
console come on when the light
switch is in the or theposition. You can adjust their
brightness by turning the Select/
Reset knob on the instrument panel. The cargo area light has a two
position switch. In the OFF (right)
position, the light does not come on.
In the ON (lef t) position, the light
comesonwhenyouopenthetailgate.
Your vehicle also has a courtesy light
in the ignition switch. This light
comesonwhenyou;
Unlock the driver’s door.
Remove the key from the ignition
switch.
Open any door.
The courtesy light in each f ront door

and goes out when the door is closed.

If you press the OFF button, the
climate control system shuts of f
completely.
Air flows from the center
and corner vents in the dashboard.

the vents in the dashboard and the

To load a single disc:Press and release the LOAD
button on the changer unit. You
will see ‘‘BUSY’’ on the center
display, and the disc load indicator
turns red and starts blinking.
Insert a disc into the disc slot
when the disc load indicator turns
green and ‘‘LOAD’’ appears on the
center display at the same time.
Insert the disc only about half way;
the drive will pull it in the rest of
the way. You will see the disc
indicator blinking on the center
display.
To load multiple discs in one
operation:
When the disc load indicator turns
green and ‘‘LOAD’’ appears on the
center display again, insert the
next CD in the slot.
Do not try to insert a disc until
‘‘LOAD’’ appears. You could
damage the audio unit.
Repeat steps 1 through 3 until all
six positions are loaded. If you are
not loading all six positions, press
the LOAD button again after the
last CD has loaded. ‘‘DISC READ’’
appears on the center display, then
the system begins playing the last
CD loaded.
If you stop loading discs bef ore all
six positions are f illed, the system
will wait f or 10 seconds, stop the load
operation, and begin playing the last
disc loaded.
Press and hold the LOAD button
on the changer unit until you hear
a beep. You will see ‘‘BUSY’’ on
the center display, and disc load
indicator turns red and starts
blinking.
Insert the disc into the disc slot
when the disc load indicator turns
green and ‘‘LOAD’’ appears on the
center display at the same time.
Insert it only half way; the drive
will pull it in the rest of the way.
You will see ‘‘BUSY’’ on the center
display, and the disc load indicator
turns red again and blinks as the
CD is loaded.
Do not try to insert a disc until
‘‘LOAD’’ appears. You could
damage the audio unit.
