The preset f requencies may be lost if
your vehicle’s battery goes dead, is
disconnected, or the radio f use is
removed. Repeat steps 1 through 3 to store a
total of six stations on AM and
twelve stations on FM.
Pick the preset number (1 6)
you want for that station. Press
the button or icon and hold it until
you hear a beep.
Each preset button or icon
can store one f requency on AM, and
two f requencies on FM.
Select the desired band, AM or
FM. FM1 and FM2 let you store
two f requencies with each preset
button or icon.
To use the SCAN, preset and A.SEL
function, press the AUDIO button to
view these icons.
The SCAN f unction
samples all stations with strong
signals on the selected band. To
activate it, press the SCAN button, or
touch the SCAN icon (models with
navigation system), then release it.
You will see SCAN in the display.
The system will scan f or a station
with a strong signal. When it f inds
one, it will stop and play that station
f or about 5 seconds.
If you do nothing, the system will
then scan f or the next strong station
andplayitfor5seconds.Whenit
plays a station you want to listen to,
press the SCAN button or touch the
SCAN icon again. UsetheTUNE,SEEK,orSCAN
function to tune the radio to a
desired station.

AUDIO button and then push the
TUNE/SOUND knob or touch the
SOUNDiconinthedisplay.The
current setting is shown on the
display.
You select which of these you want

Bass, Treble, Balance, and Fader are
each adjustable.
These two
modes adjust the strength of the
sound coming f rom each speaker.
BAL adjusts the side-to-side strength,
while FAD adjusts the f ront-to-back
strength.
Use the TRE/BAS
modes to adjust the tone to your
liking.

You select which of these you want
to adjust by pressing the TUNE/
SOUND knob. The mode changes
from BASS to TREBLE to FADER to
BALANCE,andthenbacktothe
selected audio mode, each time you
press the button. You can also select
themodebytouchingthe
adjustment bar on the display
directly. To adjust the TREBLE and BASS,
touch or on each side of the
TREBLE or BASS adjustment bar.
The adjustment bar shows you the
current setting.
The Left/Right BALANCE adjusts
the side-to-side strength, while
Front/Rear FADER adjust the front-
to-back strength. To adjust the Left/
Right BALANCE, touch the ‘‘L’’ or
‘‘R’’ icon. To adjust the Front/Rear
FADER, touch the ‘‘FR’’ or ‘‘RR’’ icon.
The system will automatically return
the display to the selected audio
mode about 5 seconds af ter you stop
adjusting a mode.

To switch between the
category mode and channel mode,
press and hold the DISP/MODE
button until the mode changes. On
models with navigation system,
touch the MODE icon on the display.
In channel mode, you can select all
of the available channels. In category
mode, such as Jazz, Rock, Classical,
etc., you can select all of the
channels within that category.
Each time you press and
release the DISP/MODE button, the
display changes in the f ollowing
sequence: Channel name, category,
artist name, and music title.
To operate the XM Radio, Press the
AUDIO button to view the XM Radio
control display.
To listen to the XM satellite Radio,
turn the ignition switch to the
ACCESSORY (I) or ON (II) position.
Push the VOL/PWR knob to turn on
the audio system, and press the XM
button. Adjust the volume turning
the VOL/PWR knob. The last
channel you listened to will show in
the display.
Turn the TUNE knob to
change channel selections. Turn the
knob right f or higher numbered
channels and lef t f or lower
numbered channels. In the category
mode, you can only select channels
within that category.
When in the satellite radio mode,
you can use any of f our methods to
f ind channels: TUNE, SEEK/SKIP
(CATEGORY), SCAN, and the
preset buttons.

f irst six channels.
Press the XM button again or
touch the other XM icon (XM1 or
XM2) on the audio display. Store
the next six channels using steps 2
and 3.
Press either side of the CATEGORY
bar ( or ) to select another
category.
The scan f unction gives
you a sampling of all channels while
in the channel mode. In the category
mode, only the channels within that
category are scanned. To activate
scan, press the SCAN button or
touch the SCAN icon on the screen.
The system plays each channel in
numerical order f or a f ew seconds,
then selects the next channel. When
you hear a channel you want to listen
to, press the button or touch the icon
again. Youcanstoreupto12
preset channels using each side of
the preset button or preset icons on
the screen. Each side of the button
stores one channel f rom the XM1
band and one channel f rom the XM2
band.
To store a channel:
Press the XM button. Either XM1
or XM2 will show in the display.
Usethetune,seek,orscan
function to tune to a desired
channel.
In category mode, only channels
within that category can be selected.
In channel mode, all channels can be
selected. Pick a preset number (icon) you
want f or that channel. Press and
hold the button (icon) until you
hear a beep.
Once a channel is stored, press and
release the proper side of the preset
button (icon) to tune to it.

Satellite radio receives signals f rom

Along with a large selection of
dif f erent types of music, satellite
radio also allows you to view channel
and category selections in the audio
display.
TheXMsatellitesareinorbitover
the equator; therefore, objects south
of the vehicle may cause satellite
reception interruptions. To help
compensate f or this, ground-based
repeaters are placed in major
metropolitan areas. Satellite signals
aremorelikelytobeblockedbytall
buildings and mountains the f arther
north you travel f rom the equator.

Depending on where you drive, you
may experience reception problems.
Interf erence can be caused by any of
these conditions:If you decide to purchase XM
satellite radio service, contact XM
Radio at , or at
1-800-852-9696. You will need to give
them your radio I.D. number and
your credit card number.Turn the TUNE knob until ‘‘0’’
appears in the display. Your I.D. will
appear in the display.
Af ter you have registered with XM
Radio, keep your audio system in the
SAT Radio mode while you await
activation. This should take about 30
minutes.
While awaiting activation, make sure
your vehicle remains in an open area
with good reception. Once your
audio system is activated, ‘‘category’’
or ‘‘CH’’ will appear on the display
and you will be able to listen to XM
Radio broadcasts. XM Radio will
continue to send an activation signal
to your vehicle for at least 12 hours
from activation request. If the
service has not been activated after
36 hours, contact XM Radio.
If your XM Radio service has expired
or you purchased your vehicle f rom
a previous owner, you can listen to a
sampling of the broadcasts available
on XM Satellite Radio. With the
ignition switch in the ACCESSORY
(I) or ON (II) position, push the
VOL/PWR knob to turn on the audio
system and press the CD/AUX XM
button. A variety of music types and
styles will play.
Driving on the north side of an
east/west mountain road.
Driving on the north side of a
large commercial truck on an
east/west road.
Driving in tunnels.
Driving on a road beside a vertical
wall, steep clif f , or hill to the south
of you.
Driving on the lower level of a
multi-tiered road.
Driving on a single lane road
alongside dense trees taller than
50 ft. (15 m) to the south of you.
There may be other geographic
situations that could af f ect satellite
radio reception.As required by the FCC: Changes or modif ications not expresslyapproved by the party responsible f orcompliance could void the user’sauthority to operate the equipment.

Your audio system will accept
auxiliary inputs f rom a portable
cassette player, MP3 player, etc.To take the system out of AUX mode,
press the AM/FM, or CD/AUX or
CD/AUX/XM (U.S. models only)
button. To return to AUX mode
while the jack is connected, press the
CD/AUX or CD/AUX/XM button.
To use the jack, turn down the
volume of the portable unit, and
pivot the input jack cover up, then
plug in a mini-jack cable between the
portable unit and the jack. You will
seeAUXinthedisplayandthe
system automatically switches to
AUX mode. To adjust the volume,
turn the VOL/PWR knob.
