The lights will turn on again when
you unlock or open the driver’s door.
If you unlock the door, but do not
open it within 15 seconds, the lights
will go off. With the driver’s door
open, you will hear a lights on
reminder chime.
This f eature turns of f the headlights,
all other exterior lights, and the
instrument panel lights within 15
seconds after you remove the key
and close the driver’s door.
You can change this 15 second timer
to 0, 30, or 60 seconds (see page
). The automatic lighting of f f eature
activates if you leave the headlight
switch in the ‘‘ ’’ or ‘‘ ’’
position or if the lights are turned on
by setting the switch in the ‘‘AUTO’’
position (if equipped), and you
remove the key, then open and close
the driver’s door.
If you turn the ignition switch to the
LOCK (0) position with the
headlight switch on, but do not open
the door, the lights turn of f af ter 10
minutes (3 minutes, if the switch is
in the ‘‘AUTO’’ position).

Press this button once to
lock all doors. Some exterior lights
will f lash. When you push LOCK
twice within 5 seconds, you will hear
a beep to verify that the doors are
locked and the security system has
set. You cannot lock the doors if any
door is not f ully closed or if the key
is in the ignition switch. Press this button once
to unlock the driver’s door (or all the
doors depending on the door lock
setting). Push it twice to unlock the
remaining doors. Some exterior
lights will f lash twice the f irst time
you push the button. The keyless lock acknowledgment
beep and f lashing of the lights can
be deactivated (see page ).
If you do not open any door within 30
seconds, the doors automatically
relock and the security system sets.
The ceiling light and the door
activated spotlights come on when
you press the UNLOCK button if the
lights are in the door activated
position. If you do not open any door
within 30 seconds (or whatever
setting of the interior light dimming
time is set to), the light(s) will f ade
out. If you relock the doors with the
remote transmitter before 30
seconds have elapsed, the light(s)
will go of f immediately. To change the lock/unlock setting
and the relock timer setting, refer to
the customized settings on page .
Locking and unlocking the driver’s
door will also lock and unlock the
f uel f ill door (see page ).
You can also open all power windows
and the moonroof f rom outside the
vehicle with the remote transmitter
(see page ).

The ceiling light has a three-position
switch: ON, Door Activated, and
OFF. In the Door Activated (center)
position, the light comes on when
you:After all doors are closed tightly, the
light dims slightly, then f ades out in
about 30 seconds.
The ceiling light (with the switch in
the center position) comes on when
you remove the key f rom the ignition
switch. If you do not open a door, the
light stays on, then f ades out in
about 30 seconds.
Turn on a spotlight by pushing the
lens. Push the lens again to turn it
of f . You can use the spotlights at all
times.
Unlock the driver’s door with the

channel mode and category mode,
press and hold the TITLE button
until the mode changes.
In the channel mode, you can select
all of the available channels. In the
category mode, such as Jazz, Rock,
Classical, etc., you can select all of
the channels within that category. Each time you press and release the
TITLE button, the display changes in
the following sequence: name, title,
and category.
To listen to XM Radio, turn the
ignition switch to the ACCESSORY
(I) or ON (II) position, and press the
button. The last channel you
listened to will show in the display.
Adjust the volume by turning the
VOL/ knob. You can also change the mode from
the menu items. Press the MENU
button to display the menu items,
then turn the selector knob to select
MODE/CATEGORY or MODE/
CHANNEL and press the selector
knob (ENTER). Each time you press
and release the selector knob
(ENTER), the display changes
between CHANNEL and
CATEGORY. To enter the setting,
press the button.
You may experience periods when
XM Radio does not transmit the
artist’s name and song title
inf ormation. If this happens, there is

This audio system can also play
CD-Rs and CD-RWs compressed in
MP3 or WMA f ormat. When playing
a disc in MP3, you will see ‘‘MP3’’ in
the display. In WMA f ormat, ‘‘WMA’’
will appear in the display. The disc,
f older and track numbers are
displayed. You can select up to 255
folders or tracks.
To load or play a disc, the ignition
switch must be in the ACCESSORY

You operate the disc player with the
same controls used f or the radio. To

Insert a disc about half way into the
disc slot. The drive will pull the disc
intherestof thewaytoplayit.You
operate the disc player with the
same controls used f or the radio.
The number of the current track is
showninthedisplay.Whenplayinga
disc in MP3 or WMA, the numbers
of the current f older and f ile are
shown. The system will continuously
play a disc until you change modes.
You cannot load and play 3-inch
(8-cm) discs in this unit.
For inf ormation on how to handle
and protect compact discs, see page. Each time you press the TITLE
button, the display shows you the
text, if the disc was recorded with
text data.
You can see the album, artist, and
track name in the display. If a disc is
recorded in MP3 or WMA, you can
see the f older and f ile name, and the
artist, album, and track tag.
When you press and release the
TITLE button while a disc without
text data is playing, you will see ‘‘NO
INFO’’ on the display. With the f older name, you will see
the FOLDER indicator in the display.
The TRACK indicator is shown with
the file or track name.
If a f ile on a WMA disc is protected
by digital rights management
(DRM), the audio unit displays
UNSUPPORTED, and then skips to
the next f ile.

When a new f older, f ile, or track is
selected.
When you change the audio mode
to play a disc with text data or in
MP3 or WMA.
When you insert a disc, and the
system begins to play.
When playing a CD-DA with text
data, the album and track name are

When you turn on the audio system
next time, the system keeps your
selection with the TITLE button. Use the SKIP bar while a disc is
playing to select passages and
change tracks (f iles in MP3 or WMA
mode).
If the text data has more than 16
characters, you will see the first 15
characters and the indicator on
the display. Press and hold the
TITLE button until the next 16
characters are shown. You can see
up to 31 characters of text data. In MP3 or WMA mode, use the

models with XM Radio) to select
f olders in the disc and use either
side of the skip bar to change files.

You can also select the scan feature
from the menu items with the
selector knob (see page ). The SCAN f unction
samples all the tracks on the disc in
the order they are recorded on the
disc (all f iles in the selected f older in
MP3 or WMA mode). To activate the
scan feature, press and release the
SCAN button. You will see SCAN in
the display. You will get a 10 second
sampling of each track/f ile in the
disc/f older. Press and hold the
SCAN button to get out of scan
mode and play the last track sampled. This f unction
samples the f irst f ile in each f older in
the order they are stored. To
activate the folder scan feature,
press and release the SCAN button
repeatedly. You will see F-SCAN in
the display. You will get a 10 second
sampling of the f irst f ile in each
folder.PressandholdtheSCAN
button to get out of the f older scan
mode and play the last f ile sampled.
You can also select the folder scan
f eature f rom the menu items with
the selector knob (see page ). Pressing either side of the

If the iPod indicator does not appear
in the audio display, check the
connections, and try to reconnect the
iPod a f ew times.
If the audio system still does not
recognize the iPod, the iPod may
need to be reset. Follow the
instructions that came with your
iPod, or you can f ind reset
