Vehicles with automatic transmission
- Slide accelerator pedal cable -3- (with kick-down switch bracket) and
cable positioner -1- through the back and front plenum walls as shown
in illustration.
-arrow- shows installed position
- Secure kick-down switch bracket with retaining clip -2-.On engine compartment side of plenum
- Connect kick-down-switch harness connector -arrow-.

All vehicles
- Slide cable end through back wall of plenum -arrow 1-, secure by
twisting cable positioner tab 90 in clockwise direction -arrow 2- until
triangular shaped piece on cable passes through the same shaped
opening in the back wall of the plenum.
Ensure that when cable comes to rest position, the positioner tab has
returned to a vertical position; thus capturing and correctly positioning
the cable assembly in the firewall opening.
