Multifunction button
Applies to vehicles: with memory function
You con adjust the massage function, upper
section of the backrest, lumbar support, side bolsters, seating surface and safety belt
height using the multifunction button.

is highlighted with a red border.
.. The arrows @ indicate the possible adjust­
ments. For example, to move the lumbar
support down, press the multifunction but­
ton

lights up.

You can set the massage strength level from 1

A WARNING
-
- Never adjust the driver's or front pas­
senger's seat whi le the vehicle is moving.
If you do this while the veh icle is moving,
you will be out of position. A lways adjust
the dr iver's or front passenger's seat
when the vehicle is not mov ing .
- Be careful when adjusting the seat
he ight. Check to see that no one is in the
way, or ser ious injury cou ld result!
- Because the seats can be e lectrically ad­
justed with the ignition off, never leave
children unattended in the veh icle. Unsu­
pe rvised use of the electric seat adjust­
ments may cause serious injury.
- To reduce the risk of injury in the case of
sudden braking or accident, front pas­
sengers mus t never r ide in a moving ve­
hicle with the backrest reclined. Safety
be lts and the airbag system on ly offer
maximum protection when the backrest
is upright and the safety belts are prop­
erly positioned on the body. The more
the backrest is reclined, the greater the risk of personal injury from an incorrect
seating position and improperly posi­
tioned safety belts.
(D Tips
- The massage function switches off auto­
matically after approximately 10 mi­
nutes .
- In vehicles w ith the reclining rear seat,
only the safety belt he ight and the seat­
ing surface can be adjusted on the front
passenger sea t using the multifunc tion
button.

There is a storage compartment under the
armrest.

Adju sting the armrest
~ To move the armrest forward and up, press
the button -arrow- wh ile pulling the armrest
into the desired position .
~ To b ring the armrest back in to its original
pos ition, press the b utton -arrow- wh ile
pressing the armrest down.
Please note that the driver's arm movements
may be restr icted w it h the armrest fo lded
down. Fo r th is reason, the a rm rest should not
be folded down when driving in c ity traffic .
Rear seats
General information
Safe transportation of passengers on the rear
seats requires proper safety precautions.
All passengers on the rear seats must be seat­
ed in compliance with the safety guidelines
explained in
c::>page 144and c::> page 152.
The correct seating position is critical for the
safety of front
and rear seat passengers alike
c::> page 137.
A WARNING
- Occupants in the front
and rear seats
must always be p roperly rest rained.
-
- Do not let anyone ride in the ve hicle
without the head rest raints prov ided .
H ead restraints help to reduce injuries.
- Loose items inside the passenger com­
partment can fly forward in a crash or
sudden maneuver and injure occupants.
Always store articles i n the luggage com­
partment and use the tie-down eyelets.
- Read and heed all WARNINGS

gest level. To reduce the massage level, press

t ion off, press the button agai n until all of the
lights turn off .

The memory buttons are located in the driv­
er's/front passenger's door and in the rear
doors".
Storing seating p rofiles
.. To s tore a seating profi le, press the ISETI
button and then one of the memory but­
tons .
.. To recall a seating profile, press and hold
the memory button until the seat is adjust­
ed to the stored settings .
.. To sw itch the memory function for the driv­
er or front passenger off, press the
I OFF I
button. The word OFF lights up when the
memo ry fu nction is sw itched off. Seating
profiles will not be stored .
Adjusting the re cl ining po sition /standard
position
.. To adj ust the recl ining pos it ion, press and
hold the@ button until the seat moves into
the end position .
.. To ad just the standard pos ition, press and
hold the @ button until the seat moves into
the end position.
A WARNING
- For safety reasons, the seat setting
should only be recalled when the veh icle
is stationary· otherw ise you risk hav ing
an accident .
- If necessary, you stop the process by
press ing the
IOF Fj button or any of the
memory buttons.
Adjusting the front passenger seat in
the MMI

The driver can adjust the position of the front
passenger seat.

Matching the position of the driver's se a t
.. To adjust the front passenger seat to match
the driver's seat settings, select the

.. Press and hold the control knob unti l the
adjustment process is comp lete .
@ Tips
When matching seat settings, the settings
for the lumbar support and seating sur·
face will not transfer to the front passeng ­
er's seat .
