Description
Withinthelimitsofthesystem,presensecity
canwarnyouofimpendingcollisionswithvehi-
clesandpedestriansandinitiatetheapplicable
brakingmaneuverifneeded.Presensecityisac-
tiveatspeedsofapproximately6mph(10km/h)
andhigher.
Apedestrianwarningcanoccuratspeeds upto
50mph(85km/h),andvehiclewarningscanoc-
curatspeedsupto155mph(250km/h).Apre
sensecitybrakingmaneuverispossibleatspeeds
upto50mph(85km/h).
Warnings
Thesystemrecognizesvariousdangeroussitua-
tions.Theearlywarningoccursif:
—Avehicledrivingaheadbrakessuddenly
—Yourownvehicleapproachesavehicleinfront
ofyouthatistravelingatasignificantlyslower
speedorthatisstationary
—Apedestrianisstandinginthelaneorismov-
ingintothelane
Whenthiswarningoccurs,itmayonlybepossi-
bleto avoidacollisionbyswervingorbraking

Thebrakesmayalsobeappliedasanacutewarn-

Tirepressuremonitoring
system

Eachtire,includingthespare(ifprovided),

edtotheinflationpressurerecommendedbythe
vehiclemanufactureronthevehicleplacardor
tireinflationpressurelabel.(Ifyourvehiclehas
tiresofadifferentsizethanthesizeindicatedon
thevehicleplacardortireinflationpressurela-
bel,youshoulddeterminethepropertireinfla-
tionpressureforthosetires).
As anaddedsafetyfeature,yourvehiclehasbeen
equippedwithatirepressuremonitoringsystem
(TPMS)thatilluminatesalowtirepressuretell-
talewhenoneormoreofyourtiresissignificant-
lyunder-inflated.Accordingly,whenthelowtire
pressuretelltaleilluminates,youshouldstopand
checkyourtiresassoonaspossible,andinflate
themtotheproperpressure.Drivingonasignifi-
cantlyunder-inflatedtirecausesthetiretoover-
heatandcanleadtotirefailure.Under-inflation
alsoreducesfuelefficiencyandtiretreadlife,
andmayaffectthevehicle'shandlingandstop-
pingability.
PleasenotethattheTPMSisnotasubstitutefor
propertiremaintenance,anditisthedriver'sre-
sponsibilitytomaintaincorrecttirepressure,
evenifunder-inflationhasnotreachedthelevel
totriggerillumination oftheTPMSlowtirepres-
suretelltale.
YourvehiclehasalsobeenequippedwithaTPMS
malfunctionindicatortoindicatewhenthesys-
temisnotoperatingproperly.TheTPMSmal-
functionindicatoriscombinedwiththelowtire
pressuretelltale.Whenthesystemdetectsa
malfunction,thetelltalewillflashforapproxi-
matelyone minuteandthenremaincontinuously
illuminated.Thissequencewillcontinueupon
subsequentvehiclestart-upsaslongasthe mal-
functionexists.
Whenthemalfunctionindicatorisilluminated,
thesystemmaynotbeabletodetectorsignal
lowtirepressureasintended.TPMSmalfunctions
mayoccurforavarietyofreasons,includingthe
installationofreplacementoralternatetiresor
wheelsonthevehiclethatpreventtheTPMS
fromfunctioningproperly.Alwayscheck the
TPMSmalfunctiontelltaleafterreplacingoneor
moretiresorwheelsonyourvehicletoensure
thatthereplacementoralternatetiresand
wheelsallowtheTPMStocontinuetofunction
properly.
