Incorrectseatingpositionofthedriverand
allotherpassengerscanresultinserious
personalinjury.
-Alwayskeepyourfeetonthefloorwhen
thevehicleisinmotion-neverputyour
feetontopoftheinstrumentpanel,out
ofthewindoworontopoftheseatcush­
ion! This
appliesespeciallytothepassen­
gers.Ifyourseatingpositionisincorrect
you increase
theriskofinjuryinthecase
ofsuddenbrakingoranaccident.Ifthe
airbag inflatesandtheseatingposition

greatlyincreasestheabilityofthesupplemen­
talairbagstodotheirjobinacollision. For

reason,wearingasafetybeltis legally re­
quired
inmostcountriesincludingmuchof
theUnitedStatesandCanada.
Although
yourAudiisequippedwithairbags,
you still have
towearthesafetybeltsprovid­
ed. Front
airbags,forexample,areactivated
onlyinsomefrontalcollisions. Thefrontair­
bagsarenotactivatedinallfrontalcollisions,
insideandrearcollisions,inrolloversorin
caseswherethereisnotenoughdeceleration
throughimpacttothefrontofthevehicle.
