WorldmapwithmagneticzonesProcedure1.Press and hold the control button for apjprox. 3 to 4 seconds. The number of theset compass zone appears in the mirror.2.To change the zone setting, press the conj
trol button quickly and repeatedly until the
number of the compass zone that correj sponds with your location appears in the
mirror.
The set zone is stored automatically. The comj
pass is ready for use again after approximately
10 seconds.
Calibratingthedigitalcompass
The digital compass must be calibrated in the
event of the following:
'yThe wrong compass point is displayed.'yThe point of the compass displayed does not change despite changing the directionof travel.'yNot all points of the compass are disj
played.Procedure1.Make sure that there are no large metallic
objects or overhead power lines near the
vehicle and that there is sufficient room to
drive around in a circle.2.Set the currently applicable compass zone.3.Press and hold the control button for apj prox. 6 to 7 seconds so that "C" appears
on the display. Next, drive in a complete circle at least once at a speed of no more
than 4 mph/7 km/h. If calibration is sucj
cessful, the "C" is replaced by the points of
the compass.
Left/right-handsteering
The digital compass is already set for right or
left-hand steering at the factory.
Settingthelanguage
Press and hold the control button for approx.
12 to 13 seconds. Briefly press the control
button again to switch between English "E" and German "O".

Cigarettelighter WARNING
Contact with hot heating elements or the
hot socket of the cigarette lighter can cause burns. Flammable materials can ignite if thecigarette lighter falls down or is held againstthe respective objects. There is a risk of fireand injuries. Hold the cigarette lighter by its
handle. Make sure that children do not use thecigarette lighter and burn themselves.'

The USB interface is located in the glove comjpartment.
Connectinganexternaldevice
Observe the following when connecting:'yDo not use force when plugging the conjnector into the USB interface.'yUse a flexible adapter cable.'yProtect the USB storage device againstmechanical damage.'yDue to the large number of USB mediaavailable on the market, it cannot be guarj
anteed that every device is operable on the
vehicle.'yDo not expose USB media to extreme envij
ronmental conditions, such as very high
temperatures; refer to the owner's manual of the device.'yDue to the many different compressiontechniques, proper playback of the media
stored on the USB storage device cannot
be guaranteed in all cases.'yA connected USB storage device will be
supplied with charging current via the USB interface if the device supports this. At
higher temperatures, the USB storage dej vice may cause a reduction in the charging
current.'yTo ensure proper transmission of the stored data, do not charge a USB storage
device via the onboard socket, when it is
connected to the USB interface.'yDepending on how the USB storage device is being used, settings may be required on
the USB storage device, refer to the ownj er's manual of the device.

Concept
The cargo area can be enlarged by folding
down the rear seat backrest.
Generalinformation The rear seat backrest is divided at a ratio of
60 to 40. The left rear seat backrest is conj
nected to the center section.
With the through-loading system: the rear seat backrest is divided at a ratio of 40/20/40.
The rear seat backrests can be folded down
from the cargo area. The center section can be
separately folded down from the rear.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Danger of jamming with folding down the
backrests. There is a risk of injury or risk of
property damage. Make sure that the area of movement of the rear backrest and the of thehead restraint is clear prior to folding down.'

Locking
The glove compartment can be locked with an
integrated key to separately secure the tailj gate, refer to page 41, e.g.
This prevents access to the glove compartj ment and to the cargo area.
After the glove compartment is locked, the rej
mote control can be handed over, such as at a
hotel, without the integrated key.
Driver'sside
Safetyinformation WARNING
Folded open, the glove compartment
protrudes in the vehicle's interior. Objects in the glove compartment can be thrown into thevehicle's interior while driving, e.g., in the eventof an accident or during braking and evasive
maneuvers. There is a risk of injury. Always
