Alarmsystem
Generalinformation
When the vehicle is locked, the vehicle alarm
system reacts to the following changes:
'yUnauthorized opening of a door, the hood
or the tailgate.'yMovements in the car's interior.'yChanges in the vehicle tilt, e. g., during atj tempts at stealing a wheel or when towing
the vehicle.'yDisconnected battery voltage.
The alarm system signals these changes visuj
ally and acoustically:
'yAcoustic alarm.
Depending on local regulations, the acousj
tic alarm may be suppressed.'yBy switching on the hazard warning sysj tem.'yBy flashing the daytime running lights.
Switchingon/off
When you lock and unlock the vehicle with the
remote control or with Comfort Access, the alarm system is switched on/off at the sametime.

The alarm system is triggered when a door is opened if the door was unlocked using theintegrated key in the door lock.

Openingthetailgatewiththealarm

The tailgate can be opened even when the
alarm system is switched on.
After the tailgate is closed, it is locked and
monitored again provided the doors are locked. The hazard warning system flashesonce.
Panicmode
You can trigger the alarm system if you find yourself in a dangerous situation.'yPress button on the remote conj
trol and hold for at least 3 secj
onds.'yBriefly press the button on the remote conj
trol three times in succession.
To switch off the alarm: press any button.
Indicatorlightontheinteriormirror
'yThe indicator light flashes briefly every 2 seconds:

The alarm system responds in situations such
as attempts to steal a wheel or when the vehij
cle is towed.
Interiormotionsensor
The windows and the glass sunroof must be
closed for the system to function properly.
Avoidingunintentionalalarms
Generalinformation
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion senj
sor can trigger an alarm, although no unauthorj ized action occurred.
Possible situations for an unwanted alarm:
'yIn automatic vehicle washes.'yIn duplex garages.'yDuring transport on trains carrying vehij
cles, at sea or on a trailer.'yWith animals in the vehicle.
The tilt alarm sensor and the interior motion sensor can be switched off in such situations.

Generalinformation
If closing force exceeds a specific threshold as
a window closes, closing is interrupted.
The window opens slightly.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Accessories on the windows such as anj
tennas can impact jam protection. There is a risk of injury. Do not install accessories in thearea of movement of the windows.'

The glass sunroof and sliding visor open
automatically.
The glass sunroof closes automatically.
The sliding visor can be manually closed.
Pressing the switch upward stops the moj
tion.

Comfortposition
If the glass sunroof is not completely opened
automatically, the comfort position has been attained. In this position the wind noises in theinterior are the least.
If desired, continue the movement by pressing
the switch.
Jamprotectionsystem
Generalinformation
If the closing force exceeds a certain value when closing the glass sunroof, the closing opjeration is interrupted once the roof reaches thehalf-open position, or it is stopped when closjing from the tilted position. The glass sunroof
opens slightly.

If there is an external danger, proceed as folj
lows:
1.Push the switch forward past the resistj
ance point and hold.The glass sunroof closes with limited jam protection. If the closing force exceeds aspecific threshold, closing is interrupted.2.Push the switch forward again past the rej
sistance point and hold until the glass sunj
roof closes without jam protection. Make sure that the closing area is clear.

Sittingsafely
An ideal seating position that meets the needs
of the occupants can make a vital contribution to relaxed, fatigue-free driving.
In the event of an accident, the correct seating

Seats
Safetyinformation WARNING
Seat adjustments while driving can lead
to unexpected movements of the seat. Vehicle
control could be lost. There is a risk of an accij dent. Only adjust the seat on the driver's sidewhen the vehicle is stationary.'

Forward/backward
Pull the lever and slide the seat in the desireddirection.
After releasing the lever, move the seat forj
ward or back slightly making sure it engages
properly.
Height
Pull the lever and apply your weight to the seat or lift it off, as necessary.
Backresttilt
Pull the lever and apply your weight to the
backrest or lift it off, as necessary.
Seattilt
Pull the lever and move the seat to the desired
tilt. After releasing the lever, apply your weight to the seat or lift it off to make sure the seat
engages properly.
Electricallyadjustableseats
Generalinformation
The seat setting for the driver's seat is stored
for the profile currently used. When the vehicle
is unlocked via the remote control, the position
is automatically retrieved if the function, refer to page 61, is activated for this purpose.
The current seat position can be stored using
the memory function, refer to page 74.

Seat heating
Switchingon Press button once for each temperajture level.
The maximum temperature is reached when three LEDs are lit.
If the trip is continued within approx. 15 mij
nutes after a stop, seat heating is activated auj
tomatically with the temperature selected last.
When ECO PRO is activated, the heater output
is reduced.
Switchingoff
Press and hold the button, until the
LEDs go out.
Enteringtherear
Safetyinformation WARNING
There is a risk of jamming when moving
the seats. There is a risk of injury or risk of
property damage. Make sure that the area of movement of the seat is clear prior to any adjjustment.'
