Yourvehiclehasalsobeenequippedwitha
TPMSmalfunctionindicatortoindicatewhenthe
systemisnotoperatingproperly.TheTPMS
malfunctionindicatoriscombinedwiththelow
tirepressuretelltale.Whenthesystemdetectsa
malfunction,thetelltalewillflashforapproxij
matelyoneminuteandthenremaincontinuously illuminated.Thissequencewillcontinueupon
subsequentvehiclestart-upsaslongasthemalj
functionexists.Whenthemalfunctionindicatoris
illuminated,thesystemmaynotbeabletodej
tectorsignallowtirepressureasintended.
TPMSmalfunctionsmayoccurforavarietyof
reasons,includingtheinstallationofreplacement
oralternatetiresorwheelsonthevehiclethat
preventtheTPMSfromfunctioningproperly.Alj

TheFlatTiredisplaydetectsatirepressureloss
whiledrivingandissuesawarningifthetirepresj
surehasdropped.

Thesystemdetectstirepressurelossonthebaj
sisofrotationspeeddifferencesbetweentheinj
dividualwheelswhiledriving.
Intheeventofatirepressureloss,thediameter
andthereforetherotationalspeedofthecorrej
spondingwheelchanges.Thedifferencewillbe
detectedandreportedasaflattire.
Thesystemdoesnotmeasuretheactualinflaj
tionpressureinthetires.
