35-watt bulb, H8.1.Use the handle of the screwdriver from theonboard vehicle tool kit to remove the
three wheel house panel screws, arrow 1. Carefully pull back the wheel house panel,
arrow 2.2.Pull off the bulb connector, arrow 1.
Turn the bulb, arrow 2.
Left side of vehicle: turn clockwise.
Right side of vehicle: turn counterclockj wise.
Remove the bulb.3.Insert the new bulb, connect the connector and screw on the wheel house panel.

move the screws on the trim.3.Carefully loosen the trim from the tailgate,
starting at the edge and working toward
the area around the recessed grips. Make sure that the trim does not become stuck.4.Carefully swing out the trim.
Changingreversinglights
1.Pull the bulb holder out.2.Unscrew the bulb from the bulb holder
counter-clockwise.3.Insert the new bulb.

Maintenance
The battery is maintenance-free.

In case of an emergency, an Emergency Rej
quest can be made through the system.

For technical reasons, the Emergency Request cannot be guaranteed under unfavorable conj
ditions.

If a cancel prompt appears on the Control
Display, the Emergency Request can be
aborted.
If the situation allows, wait in your vehicle
until the voice connection has been estabj

When the Emergency Request is received
at the BMW Response Center, the BMW
Response Center contacts you and takes

Never use spray fluids to start the engine.
1.Start the engine of the assisting vehicle
and let it run for several minutes at an inj creased idle speed.
If the vehicle to be started has a diesel enj gine: let the engine of the assisting vehiclerun for approx. 10 minutes.2.Start the engine of the vehicle that is to bestarted in the usual way.
If the first starting attempt is not successj
ful, wait a few minutes before making anj
other attempt in order to allow the disj
charged battery to recharge.3.Let both engines run for several minutes.4.Disconnect the jumper cables in the rej verse order.
Check the battery and recharge, if needed.
Tow-startingandtowing Safetyinformation WARNING
Due to system limits, individual functions
can malfunction during tow-starting/towing with the Intelligent Safety systems activated,
e.g., approach control warning with light brakj
ing function. There is a risk of an accident.
Switch all Intelligent Safety systems off prior to
tow-starting/towing.'

If the electrical system has failed, clearly idenjtify the vehicle being towed by placing a sign
or a warning triangle in the rear window.

If the approved gross vehicle weight of
the towing vehicle is lighter than the vehicle to be towed, the tow fitting can tear off or it will
not be possible to control the vehicle's rej
sponse. There is a risk of an accident! Make
sure that the gross vehicle weight of the towj
ing vehicle is heavier than the vehicle to be
towed.'
