on the government course as a tire graded
100. The relative performance of tires depends
upon the actual conditions of their use, howj ever, and may depart significantly from the
norm due to variations in driving habits, service
practices and differences in road characterisj tics and climate.
Traction The traction grades, from highest to lowest,are AA, A, B, and C.
Those grades represent the tire's ability to
stop on wet pavement as measured under
controlled conditions on specified government test surfaces of asphalt and concrete. A tire
marked C may have poor traction performance.
The traction grade assigned to this tire is
based on straight-ahead braking traction tests,
and does not include acceleration, cornering,
hydroplaning, or peak traction characteristics.
Temperature
The temperature grades are A, the highest, B, and C, representing the tire's resistance to the
generation of heat and its ability to dissipate heat when tested under controlled conditions
on a specified indoor laboratory test wheel.
Sustained high temperature can cause the maj
terial of the tire to degenerate and reduce tire
life, and excessive temperature can lead to
sudden tire failure. The grade C corresponds to a level of performance which all passenger
vehicle tires must meet under the Federal Moj
tor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 109. Grades
Band A represent higher levels of performance
on the laboratory test wheel than the minimum
required by law.
WARNING
The temperature grade for this tire is esj
tablished for a tire that is properly inflated and
not overloaded. Excessive speed, underinflaj
tion, or excessive loading, either separately orin combination, can cause heat buildup and
possible tire failure.'

Tiredamage
Generalinformation Inspect your tires regularly for damage, foreignobjects lodged in the tread, and tread wear.
Driving over rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstaclescan cause serious damage to wheels, tires andsuspension parts. This is more likely to occur
with low-profile tires, which provide less cushj
ioning between the wheel and the road. Be
careful to avoid road hazards and reduce your
speed, especially if your vehicle is equipped
with low-profile tires.
Indications of tire damage or other vehicle malj functions:'yUnusual vibrations.'yUnusual tire or running noises.'yUnusual handling such as a strong tenjdency to pull to the left or right.
Damage can be caused by the following situajtions, for instance:
'yDriving over curbs.'yRoad damage.'yTire inflation pressure too low.'yVehicle overloading.'yIncorrect tire storage.

pressure, which can lead to loss of vehicle control. There is a risk of an accident. If tiredamage is suspected while driving, immedijately reduce speed and stop. Have wheels andtires checked. For this purpose, drive carefully

Storingtires
Airpressure
Do not exceed the maximum tire inflation presj sure indicated on the side wall of the tire.
Storage
Store wheels and tires in a cool, dry and dark place.
Always protect tires against all contact with oil,
grease, and solvents.
Do not leave tires in plastic bags.
Remove dirt from wheels or tires.
Run-flattires Concept
Run-flat tires permit continued driving under restricted conditions even in the event of acomplete loss of tire inflation pressure.
Generalinformation
The wheels consist of tires that are self-supj porting, to a limited degree, and possibly spej
cial rims.
The support of the sidewall allows the tire to remain drivable to a restricted degree in the
event of a tire inflation pressure loss.
Follow the instructions for continued driving
with a flat tire.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Your vehicle handles differently with a
run-flat with no or low inflation pressure; for inj stance, your lane stability when braking is rejduced, braking distances are longer and theself-steering properties will change. There is a
risk of an accident.
Drive moderately and do not exceed a speed of 50 mph/80 km/h.'

Fillingthetirewithsealant
Safetyinformation DANGER
If the exhaust pipe is blocked or ventilaj
tion is insufficient, harmful exhaust gases can
enter into the vehicle. The exhaust gases conj tain pollutants which are colorless and odorj
less. In enclosed areas, exhaust gases can also
accumulate outside of the vehicle. There is
danger to life. Keep the exhaust pipe free and
ensure sufficient ventilation.'

6.With the compressor switched off, insert
the plug into a power socket inside the vej
hicle.7.With the ignition switched on or the engine running, switch on the compressor.
Let the compressor run for max. 10 minutes tofill the tire with sealant and achieve a tire inflaj
tion pressure of approx. 2.5 bar.
While the tire is being filled with sealant, the
tire inflation pressure may sporadically reach
approx. 5 bar. Do not switch off the compresj
sor at this point.
If a tire inflation pressure of 2 bar is not
reached:
1.Switch off the compressor.2.Pull the connector out of the power socket inside the vehicle.3.Unscrew the filling hose from the tire valve.4.Drive 33 ft/10 m forward and back to disjtribute the sealant in the tire.5.Inflate the tire again using the compressor.
If a tire inflation pressure of 2 bar cannot be
reached, contact your dealerss service cenjter or another qualified service center or repair shop.
StowingtheMobilitySystem
1.Remove the connection hose of the sealj
ant container from the tire valve.2.Pull the compressor connector out of the socket inside the vehicle.3.Remove the connection hose from thesealant container.4.Wrap and store the sealant container and
the connection hose in suitable material to
avoid dirtying the cargo area.5.Stow the Mobility System back in the cargo area.
Distributingthesealant
Immediately drive approx. 5 miles/10 km to enjsure that the sealant is evenly distributed in thetire.
Do not exceed the permissible maximum
speed of 50 mph/80 km/h.
If possible, do not drive at speeds less than
12 mph/20 km/h.
Correctingthetireinflationpressure

3.Attach the connection hose directly to the
compressor.4.Insert the connector into the power socket
inside the vehicle.5.Correct the tire inflation pressure to

ning, switch on the compressor.'yReduce tire inflation pressure: press
the button on the compressor.
Continuingthetrip
Do not exceed the maximum permissible
speed of 50 mph/80 km/h.
Reinitialize the run-flat tires.
Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor TPM.
Replace the nonworking tire and the sealant
container of the Mobility System at the next
opportunity.
Snowchains
Fine-linksnowchains The manufacturer of your vehicle recommendsuse of fine-link snow chains. Certain types of
fine-link snow chains have been tested by the
manufacturer of the vehicle and recommended
as road-safe and suitable.
Information regarding suitable snow chains is
available from a dealerss service center or anj
other qualified service center or repair shop.
Use
Use only in pairs on the rear wheels, equipped
with the tires of the following size:'y225/55 R 17.'y225/50 R 18.
Follow the snow chain manufacturer's instrucj tions.
Do not initialize the run-flat tires after mountj
ing snow chains, as doing so may result in inj
correct readings.
Do not reset the Tire Pressure Monitor TPM after mounting snow chains, as doing so mayresult in incorrect readings.
When driving with snow chains, briefly activate
Dynamic Traction Control DTC, if needed.
Maximumspeedwithsnowchains
Do not exceed a speed of 30 mph/50 km/h when using snow chains.
Changingwheels/tires Generalinformation
When using run-flat tires or a flat tire kit, a
wheel does not always need to be changed imj mediately when there is a loss of tire inflationpressure due to a flat tire.
If needed, the tools for changing wheels are
available as accessories from a dealerss service

The vehicle jack is only provided for
short-term lifting of the vehicle for wheel changes. Even if all safety measures are objserved, there is a risk of the raised vehicle falljing, if the vehicle jack tilts over. There is a riskof injuries or danger to life. If the vehicle is
raised, do not lie under the vehicle and do not
start the engine.'

Onaslightdownhillgradient
If you need to change a wheel on a slightdownhill grade, place chocks and other suitajble objects, for instance a rock, under the
wheels of both the front and rear axles against
the rolling direction.
Lugboltlock
Concept
The wheel lug bolts have a special coding. The
lug bolts can only be released with the adapter
which matches the coding.
Overview
The adapter of the lug bolt lock is in the onj board vehicle tool kit or in a storage compartj
ment close to the onboard vehicle tool kit.
'yLug bolt, arrow 1.'yAdapter, arrow 2.
Unscrewing
1.Attach the adapter to the lug bolt.2.Unscrew the lug bolt.3.Remove the adapter after unscrewing the lug bolt.
Screwingon
1.Attach the adapter to the lug bolt. If necesj
sary, turn the adapter until it fits on the lug bolt.2.Screw on the lug bolt. The tightening torj
que is 140 Nm.3.Remove the adapter and stow it after screwing on the lug bolt.
Preparingthevehicle
'yPark the vehicle on solid and non-slipground at a safe distance from traffic.'ySwitch on the hazard warning system.'ySet the parking brake.'yEngage a gear or move the selector leverto position P.'yAs soon as permitted by the traffic flow,have all vehicle occupants get out of the
