area.
The nonworking wheel cannot be stored under the cargo floor panel because of its
size.3.Check tire inflation pressure at the next opj
portunity and correct as needed.4.Reinitialize the Flat Tire Monitor.
Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor.5.Check to make sure the lug bolts are tight

Generalinformation
The engine oil consumption is dependent on
the driving style and driving conditions.
The engine oil consumption can increase in
the following situations, for example:'ySporty driving style.'yBreak-in of the engine.'yIdling of the engine.'yWith use of engine oil types that are classij
fied as not suitable.
Therefore, regularly check the engine oil level
after refueling.
The vehicle is equipped with electronic oil
measurement.
The electronic oil measurement has two measj uring principles:
'yStatus display.'yDetailed measurement.Electronicoilmeasurement
Statusdisplay
Concept
The engine oil level is monitored electronically
while driving and shown on the Control Disj play.
If the engine oil level reaches the minimum
level, a Check Control message is displayed.
Functionalrequirements A current measured value is available after apj
prox. 30 minutes of driving. During a shorter
trip, the status of the last, sufficiently long trip
is displayed.
With frequent short-distance trips, regularly perform a detailed measurement.
Displayingtheengineoillevel
Using iDrive:1."My Vehicle"2."Vehicle status"3. "Engine oil level"
The engine oil level is displayed.
Engineoilleveldisplaymessages
Concept
Different messages appear on the display dej pending on the engine oil level. Pay attention
to these messages.
If the engine oil level is too low within the next
125 miles/200 km, add engine oil.
Take care not to add too much engine oil.
A red indicator light indicates that theengine oil pressure is too low.

SafetyinformationNOTE
An engine oil level that is too low causes
engine damage. There is a risk of property
damage. Immediately add engine oil.'

The viscosity grades SAE 0W-20 or SAE5W-20 are only suitable for particular engines.
More information about suitable engine oil ratjings and viscosities of engine oils can be rej
quested from a dealerss service center or anj other qualified service center or repair shop.
Engineoilchange NOTE
Engine oil that is not changed in timely
fashion can cause increased engine wear and thus engine damage. There is a risk of propertydamage. Do not exceed the service data indijcated in the vehicle.'

Checkingthecoolantlevelinthefiller
neck
There are yellow Min and Max marks in the
coolant reservoir.1.Let the engine cool.2.Turn the lid of the coolant reservoir slightly counterclockwise to allow any excess
pressure to dissipate, then open it.3.Open the coolant reservoir lid.4.The coolant level is correct if it lies bej tween the minimum and maximum marksin the filler neck.Adding1.Let the engine cool.2.Turn the lid of the coolant reservoir slightlycounterclockwise to allow any excess
pressure to dissipate, then open it.3.If the coolant is low, slowly add coolant up to the specified level; do not overfill.4.Turn the lid until there is an audible click. The arrows on the coolant reservoir andthe lid must point towards one another.5.Have the cause of the coolant loss elimijnated as soon as possible.
Disposal
Comply with the relevant environmenj
tal protection regulations when disposj
ing of coolant and coolant additives.
