A clear assignment between the remote controland driver may not be possible in the following

Alarmsystem
GeneralinformationWhen the vehicle is locked, the vehicle alarm
system reacts to the following changes:
'xUnauthorized opening of a door, the hood or
the tailgate.'xMovements in the car's interior.'xChanges in the vehicle tilt, e. g., during atj
tempts at stealing a wheel or when towing
the vehicle.'xDisconnected battery voltage.'xImproper use of the socket for Onboard Diagj nosis.
The alarm system signals these changes visuallyand acoustically:

Depending on local regulations, the acoustic alarm may be suppressed.'xVisual alarm:
By flashing the exterior lighting.
Switchingon/off
When you lock and unlock the vehicle with the
remote control or Comfort Access, the alarm
system will also switch on or off at the same time.

The alarm system is triggered when a door is opened if the door was unlocked using the
integrated key in the door lock.

tored again provided the doors are locked. The

The tilt of the vehicle is monitored.
The alarm system responds in situations such as
attempts to steal a wheel or when the vehicle is
towed.
Interiormotionsensor
The windows and the glass sunroof must be
closed for the system to function properly.
Avoidingunintentionalalarms Generalinformation
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion sensor
can trigger an alarm, although no unauthorized
action occurred.
Possible situations for an unwanted alarm:
'xIn automatic vehicle washes.'xIn duplex garages.'xDuring transport on trains carrying vehicles, at
sea or on a trailer.'xWith animals in the vehicle.'xAt the gas station: if the vehicle is locked after refueling starts.
The tilt alarm sensor and the interior motion senj
sor can be switched off in such situations.

Press the remote control button againwithin 10 seconds as soon as the vehicle is
locked.
The indicator light lights up for approx. 2 secj
onds and then continues to flash.
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion sensor are switched off until the vehicle is locked again.

movement of the windows.

In case of danger from the outside or if ice might
prevent normal closing, proceed as follows:
1. Pull the switch past the resistance point
and hold it there.The window closes with limited jam protecj
tion. If the closing force exceeds a specific threshold, closing is interrupted.2. Pull the switch past the resistance point
again within approx. 4 seconds and hold it
there.
The window closes without jam protection.
Rollersunblinds
Rollersunblindforrearwindow
Generalinformation If you are no longer able to move the roller sunj
blind for the rear window after having activated it
a number of times in a row, the system is
blocked for a limited time to prevent overheating. Let the system cool.
The roller sunblind for the rear window cannot be
moved at low interior temperatures.

The glass sunroof is ready for operation when

Generalinformation If the closing force exceeds a certain value when
closing the glass sunroof, the closing operation is interrupted once the roof reaches the half-openposition, or it is stopped when closing from the
tilted position. The glass sunroof opens slightly.

WARNING
Seat adjustments while driving can lead to unj
expected movements of the seat. Vehicle conj
trol could be lost. There is a risk of an accident.
Only adjust the seat on the driver's side when
the vehicle is stationary.
WARNING
With a backrest inclined too far to the rear, the
efficacy of safety gear, including safety belts
can no longer be ensured. There is a risk of
sliding under the safety belt in an accident.
There is a risk of injuries or danger to life. Adj just the seat prior to starting the trip. Adjust the
backrest so that it is in the most upright posij tion as possible and do not adjust again while
driving.
WARNING
There is a risk of jamming when moving the seats. There is a risk of injury or risk of damage
to property. Make sure that the area of movej
ment of the seat is clear prior to any adjustj

Pull the lever and apply your weight to the seator lift it off, as necessary.

Pull the lever and apply your weight to the backjrest or lift it off, as necessary.
Seattilt
Pull the lever and move the seat to the desired
tilt. After releasing the lever, apply your weight to
the seat or lift it off to make sure the seat enj gages properly.
Electricallyadjustableseats
Generalinformation The seat setting for the driver's seat is stored for
the profile currently used. When the vehicle is
unlocked via the remote control, the position is
automatically retrieved if the function, refer to page 82, is activated for this purpose.
The current seat position can be stored using the memory function, refer to page 95.
