When the vehicle is unlocked, the driver's seat and exterior mirrors resume their last set posijtions. When the drive-ready state is switched
on, the steering wheel is moved to its last set

Generalinformation
When the vehicle is locked, the vehicle alarm
system reacts to the following changes:'yOpening a door, the hood or the tailgate.'yMovements in the interior.'yChanges in the vehicle tilt, e. g., during atj tempts at stealing a wheel or when towing
the vehicle.'yDisconnected battery voltage.'yImproper use of the socket for Onboard Dij
agnosis.
The alarm system signals these changes visuj

Switchingonandoff
When you unlock or lock the vehicle, either
with the remote control or with Comfort Acj cess, the alarm system is switched on and offat the same time.

The alarm system is triggered when a door is opened if the door was unlocked using the inj
tegrated key in the door lock.

The tailgate can be opened even when the alarm system is switched on.
After the tailgate is closed, it is locked and
monitored again provided the doors are
locked. The hazard warning system flashes
once.

Panicmode
You can trigger the alarm system if you find
yourself in a dangerous situation.
Press button on the remote control
and hold for at least 3 seconds.
To switch off the alarm: press any button.

2 seconds:

Interior motion sensor and tilt alarm sensor
are not active, as doors, hood, or tailgate are not correctly closed. Correctly closedaccess points are secured.
When the still open access points are
closed, interior motion sensor and tilt alarm
sensor will be switched on.'yThe indicator lamp goes out after unlockj
ing:
The vehicle has not been tampered with.'yThe indicator lamp flashes after unlocking
until drive-ready state is switched on, but
no longer than approx. 5 minutes:
An alarm has been triggered.
Tiltalarmsensor The tilt of the vehicle is monitored.
The alarm system responds in situations such
as attempts to steal a wheel or when the vehij
cle is towed.
Interiormotionsensor
The windows and the glass sunroof must be
closed for the system to function properly.
Avoidingunintentionalalarms
Generalinformation
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion senj
sor can trigger an alarm, although no unauthorj
ized action occurred.
Possible situations for an unwanted alarm:'yIn automatic vehicle washes.'yIn duplex garages.'yDuring transport on trains carrying vehij
cles, at sea or on a trailer.'yWith animals in the vehicle.
The tilt alarm sensor and the interior motion sensor can be switched off in such situations.

Press the remote control button againwithin 10 seconds as soon as the vehicle
is locked.
The indicator lamp lights up for approx. 2 secj
onds and then continues to flash.
The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion senj
sor are turned off until the vehicle is locked
again.

Closingwithoutthejamprotection
system
In case of danger from the outside or if ice might prevent normal closing, proceed as folj lows:1. Pull the switch past the resistance
point and hold it there.
The window closes with limited jam proj
tection . If the closing force exceeds a spej
cific threshold, closing is interrupted.2. Pull the switch past the resistance
point again within approx. 4 seconds and
hold it there.
The window closes without jam protecj
tion .
Safetyswitch
Generalinformation
The safety switch in the driver's door can be
used to prevent children, for instance from
opening and closing the rear windows using
the switches in the rear.
If an accident of a certain severity occurs, the safety function is switched off automatically.

The LED lights up if the safety funcj
tion is switched on.
Rearwindowrollersunblind Overview
Button for the roller sunblind.
Operation Press the button to open the closed
roller sunblind or to close the open
roller sunblind.
If the button is pressed again during the movej ment, the roller sunblind is moved in the oppoj site direction.
Systemlimits If you are no longer able to move the roller sunj
blind after having activated it consecutively a
number of times, the system is blocked for a
limited time to prevent overheating. Let the
system cool.
The roller sunblind cannot be moved at low inj
terior temperatures.

WARNING
With closed roller sunblinds and open
windows, the roller sunblinds can be loaded
heavily while driving due to the wind. The roller
sunblinds can be damaged and compromise
the passengers. There is risk of injuries. Do not
open the windows while driving if the roller
sunblinds are closed.'

The glass sunroof closes
while the switch is being
held. If the glass sunroof is
already closed or in the tilted
position, the sliding visor
closes.'yPress the switch in the desired direction
past the resistance point.
The sliding visor opens automatically. If the sliding visor is already fully open, the glasssunroof opens automatically.
The glass sunroof closes automatically. If the glass sunroof is already closed or in the
tilted position, the sliding visor closes auj
tomatically.
Pressing the switch upward stops the moj tion.

If the glass sunroof is not completely opened
automatically, the comfort position has been
attained. In this position the wind noises in the
interior are the least.

If the closing force when closing the glass sunj
roof exceeds a certain value, the closing movej ment is stopped, beginning at approximately
the middle of the opening in the roof, or from
the tilted position during closing.
The glass sunroof opens slightly.

If there is an external danger, proceed as folj
lows:1.Push the switch forward past the resistj
ance point and hold.
The glass sunroof closes with limited jam protection . If the closing force exceeds aspecific threshold, closing is interrupted.2.Push the switch forward again past the rej

roof closes without jam protection . Make sure that the closing area is clear.
