sockets.Controlandmonitoringofthecharging
processarehandledcompletelyautomatically.
Thechargecurrentstrengthcanbesetvia
iDrive.
Generalinformation
High-voltagebattery Thehigh-voltagebatteryisusedasanenergy
accumulator.Thehigh-voltagebatterycanbe
chargedbyenergyrecoveryduringthetriporvia
thepowergrid.
Inordertooperatethehigh-voltagebatteryoptij mally,chargethevehicleregularlyandcomj
pletelyonacompatiblecharger.
Whenchargingviathepowergrid,youcanchose
betweenthefollowingvariants.

Level1charging
PriortothefirstLevel1chargingatyourown householdsocket,aswellaswhenchargingatexternalelectricalpowersocketsinLevel1,theallowedchargecurrentstrengthmustbedeterj
mined,forinstancebyaqualifiedelectrician.
ThechargecurrentstrengthforLevel1chargj ing,refertopage 300,canbeadjustedinthevej
hicleinthreelevels.
Atdelivery,thechargecurrentforLevel1chargj ingissettothelowestlevel.
Dependingonthecountry-specificversion,one
ofseveralampereratingsisprintedontheenj
closedLevel1chargingcable.Thisampereratj ingisthelimitwhichmustbeadheredtoforthevehicleifthechargecurrentissettothehighest
level.Dependingonthechargecurrent,the
chargecurrentstrengthmayvarywhenlower
levelsareset.
