The selected temperature is shown on the disj
play of the automatic climate control.
The automatic climate control reaches this temperature as quickly as possible, if needed,
by increasing the cooling or heating output,
and then keeps it constant.
Do not rapidly switch between different temj
perature settings. Otherwise, the automatic clij mate control will not have sufficient time to adj
just the set temperature.
To reduce the energy consumption, the coolj
ing or heating output is reduced or deactivated
as per ECO-PRO mode, refer to page 169.
Airconditioning Concept
The air in the car's interior will be cooled and
dehumidified and, depending on the temperaj
ture setting, warmed again.
The car's interior can be cooled with the staj
tionary climate control or via the A/C button
with drive-ready state activated.
Switchingon/off Press button.
Air conditioning is switched on or off.

Concept
The automatic recirculated-air control AUC
recognizes odors or pollutants in the outside
air. The outside air supply is shut off and the
interior air is recirculated.
Generalinformation
If the system is activated, a sensor detects polj
lutants in the outside air and controls the shut- off automatically.
If the system is deactivated, outside air continj uously flows into the car's interior.
With constant recirculated-air mode, the air
quality in the car's interior deteriorates and the
fogging of the windows increases.
Switchingon/off Press button repeatedly to select an
operating mode:'yLEDs off: outside air flows in continuously.'yLeft LED on, automatic recirculated-air
control: a sensor detects pollutants in the
outside air and shuts off automatically.'yRight LED on, recirculated-air mode: the
supply of outside air into the vehicle is perj manently blocked.
Recirculated-air mode switches off automatijcally at low external temperatures after a cerj
tain amount of time in order to avoid window
fogging.
To prevent window fogging, recirculated-air
mode switches off automatically after a certain amount of time, depending on the environj
mental conditions.
If the windows are fogged over, switch off the
recirculated-air mode and press the AUTO
button to utilize the condensation sensor.
Make sure that air can flow to the windshield.

InteriorequipmentVehiclefeaturesandoptionsThis chapter describes all standard, country-specific and optional features offered with theseries. It also describes features that are notnecessarily available in your vehicle, e. g., due
to the selected options or country versions.
This also applies to safety-related functions
and systems. When using these functions and systems, the applicable laws and regulations
must be observed.
UniversalIntegratedRemote
Control
Concept
The integrated Universal Remote Control in
the interior mirror can operate up to 3 funcj
tions of remote-controlled systems, such as
garage door drives or lighting systems. The integrated Universal Remote Control replaces
up to 3 different hand-held transmitters. To
operate the remote control, the buttons on the
interior mirror must be programmed with the
desired functions. The hand-held transmitter
for the particular system is required in order to
program the remote control.
Before selling the vehicle, delete the stored
functions for the sake of security.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Body parts can be jammed when operatj
ing remote-controlled systems, e.g., the gaj
rage door, using the integrated universal rej mote control. There is a risk of injury or risk ofproperty damage. Make sure that the area ofmovement of the respective system is clear
during programming and operation. Also followthe safety instructions of the hand-held transj
mitter.'

the interior mirror flashes. This erases all
programming of the buttons on the interior mirror.3.Hold the hand-held transmitter for the sysjtem to be controlled approx. 1 to 3 inj
ches/2.5 to 8 cm away from the buttons of
the interior mirror. The required distance
depends on the hand-held transmitter.4.Simultaneously press and hold the button
of the desired function on the hand-held transmitter and the button to be programj
med on the interior mirror. The LED on the
interior mirror will begin flashing slowly.5.Release both buttons as soon as the LED flashes more rapidly. The LED flashing
faster indicates that the button on the intej
rior mirror has been programmed.
If the LED does not flash faster after at
least 60 seconds, change the distance bej
tween the interior mirror and the hand-held transmitter and repeat the step. Several
more attempts at different distances may be necessary. Wait at least 15 seconds bej
tween attempts.
Canada: if programming with the hand- held transmitter was interrupted, hold
down the interior mirror button and repeatj
edly press and release the hand-held
transmitter button for 2 seconds.6.To program other functions on other butj
tons, repeat steps 3 to 5.
The systems can be controlled using the intej
rior mirror buttons.

wirelesssystem
If you are unable to operate the system after
repeated programming, please check if the system to be controlled features a rolling coderadio system.
Read the system's owner's manual, or press the programmed button on the interior mirror longer. If the LED on the interior mirror starts
flashing rapidly and then stays lit constantly for
2 seconds, the system features a rolling code
radio system. Flashing and continuous illumij
nation of the LED will repeat for approximately
20 seconds.
For systems with a rolling code radio system,
the integrated Universal Remote Control and the system also have to be synchronized.
Please read the owner's manual to find out
how to synchronize the system.
Synchronizing is easier with the aid of a secj
ond person.
Synchronizing the universal remote control with the system:1.Park the vehicle within range of the rejmote-controlled system.2.Program the desired button on the interiormirror as described.3.Locate and press the synchronizing button
