Interiormotionsensor
The windows and the glass sunroof must be
closed for the system to function properly.
Avoidingunintentionalalarms Generalinformation The tilt alarm sensor and interior motion sensor
can trigger an alarm, although no unauthorized
action occurred.
Possible situations for an unwanted alarm:'xIn automatic vehicle washes.'xIn duplex garages.'xDuring transport on trains carrying vehicles, at
sea or on a trailer.'xWith animals in the vehicle.'xAt the gas station: if the vehicle is locked after refueling starts.
The tilt alarm sensor and the interior motion senj
sor can be switched off in such situations.

Press the remote control button againwithin 10 seconds as soon as the vehicle is
locked.
The indicator light lights up for approx. 2 secj
onds and then continues to flash.

and hold it there.

again within approx. 4 seconds and hold it
there.

In some models, the wind noises in the car's inj
terior are lowest when the glass sunroof is not fully open. In these models, the automatic funcjtion initially only opens the glass sunroof up tothis comfort position.

If the closing force exceeds a certain value when closing the glass sunroof, the closing operation is
interrupted once the roof reaches the half-open
position, or it is stopped when closing from the
tilted position. The glass sunroof opens slightly.

the occupants can make a vital contribution to
relaxed, fatigue-free driving.

WARNING
Seat adjustments while driving can lead to unj
expected movements of the seat. Vehicle conj
trol could be lost. There is a risk of an accident.
Only adjust the seat on the driver's side when
the vehicle is stationary.
WARNING
With a backrest inclined too far to the rear, the
efficacy of safety gear, including safety belts
can no longer be ensured. There is a risk of
sliding under the safety belt in an accident.
There is a risk of injuries or danger to life. Adj just the seat prior to starting the trip. Adjust the
backrest so that it is in the most upright posij tion as possible and do not adjust again while
driving.

Pull the lever and slide the seat in the desired dij

After releasing the lever, move the seat forward
or back slightly making sure it engages properly.

Pull the lever and apply your weight to the seator lift it off, as necessary.

Pull the lever and apply your weight to the backjrest or lift it off, as necessary.
Seattilt
Pull the lever and move the seat to the desired
tilt. After releasing the lever, apply your weight to
the seat or lift it off to make sure the seat enj gages properly.
Electricallyadjustableseats
Generalinformation The seat setting for the driver's seat is stored for
the profile currently used. When the vehicle is
unlocked via the remote control, the position is
automatically retrieved if the function, refer to page 79, is activated for this purpose.
The current seat position can be stored using the memory function, refer to page 93.

sure occupant safety. However, they can only ofj fer protection when adjusted correctly.
GeneralinformationAlways make sure that safety belts are beingworn by all occupants before driving off. Aljthough airbags enhance safety by providing
added protection, they are not a substitute for
safety belts.
The upper shoulder strap's anchorage point will be correct for adult seat occupants of every buildif the seat is correctly adjusted.

Use of a safety belt to buckle more than one
person will potentially defeat the ability of the safety belt to serve its protective function.
There is a risk of injuries or danger to life. Do
not allow more than one person to wear a sinj
gle safety belt. Infants and children are not alj
lowed on an occupant's lap, but must be transj
ported and secured in designated child
restraint systems.
WARNING
The efficacy of safety gear, including safety
belts, can be limited or lost when safety belts
are fastened incorrectly. An incorrectly fastened
safety belt can cause additional injuries, for inj
stance in the event of an accident or during
braking and evasive maneuvers. There is a risk of injuries or danger to life. Make sure that all
occupants are wearing safety belts correctly.
WARNING
The efficacy of safety gear, including safety belts, may not be fully functional or fail in the
following situations:
'xThe safety belts or safety belt buckles are
damaged, soiled, or changed in any other way.'xBelt tensioners or belt retractors were
modified.
Safety belts can be imperceptibly damaged in
the event of an accident. There is a risk of injuj ries or danger to life. Do not modify safety belts,safety belt buckles, belt tensioners, belt retracjtors or belt anchors and keep them clean. Havethe safety belts checked after an accident atthe dealerss service center or another qualified
service center or repair shop.
