High-performanceengine
Generalinformation
With a displacement of 3 liters, the high-perj formance engine generates a maximum power
of 425 hp, with Competition Package 444 hp and a maximum torque of 406 lb ft/550 Nm.With its spontaneous response behavior, aspeed range of wide utility results. The maxijmum engine speed is 7,600 rpm and is elecj
tronically controlled. Because of the high enj gine dynamics, the maximum engine speed
with the vehicle stationary is reduced.
Warm-up
During the engine warm-up phase, the high-
performance engine has a somewhat rougher
running behavior because of the emission conj
trols.
When the engine is cold, the exhaust system has a slightly metallic undertone due to the naj
ture of the system.

engine oil temperature, refer to page 85.Compoundbrake
The high-performance braking system has
perforated compound brake discs.
Because of particular structural characteristics,
there may be operation-related noises during
braking. However, this has no effect on perj
formance, operational reliability and reliability
of the brake.
Correctbraking
To keep the brake system in optimum condij tion, it is expedient to apply them at regular injtervals corresponding to the vehicle character.
McarbonceramicbrakeThe high-performance braking system has
perforated carbon ceramic brake discs.
Due to properties of the materials used, brakj ing may be associated with louder function
noises, particularly in wet conditions, just bej
fore the vehicle comes to a stop. However, this
has no effect on the performance, operational
reliability and durability of the brake.
The effects of moisture and road salt from usj ing a vehicle wash, dew formation overnight,
driving in rain, etc., may render the braking efj
fect comparable to that of a conventional brakj
ing system. This may be perceived as reduced
braking effect and can be compensated for, if
needed, by pressing the brake pedal harder.
Before washing the vehicle in an automatic
carwash or wash tunnel, clean the brake discs
and brake calipers with a steam jet or high-
pressure washer as well, to prevent encrustaj
tions and dirt buildups, caused by salt crystals,
for instance if the vehicle is immobile afterj
wards. The cleaning effect of automatic carj
washes or wash tunnels is usually not adej

Drivetrain
With this vehicle, particular value was placed
on the direct connection from engine to the
drivetrain. Due to the torsionally rigid design of the drivetrain, as is typical in a sports car, the
transmission of the torque also gives acoustic
feedback.
When there are load changes, this may result
in clicking noises. The do not cause any imj
pairment of the operation or the service life of
the components.
DrivingonracetracksHigher mechanical and thermal loads during
racetrack operation lead to increased wear.
This wear is not covered by the warranty. The
vehicle is not designed for use in motor sports competition.
The standard brake linings and the wear indij

An open tailgate protrudes from the vehij
cle and can endanger occupants and other
traffic participants or damage the vehicle in the
event of an accident, braking or evasive maj
neuvers. In addition, exhaust fumes may enter
the vehicle interior. There is a risk of injury or
risk of damage to property. Do not drive with
the tailgate open.'

In certain braking situations, the perforated
brake discs can emit functional noises. Howj
ever, this has no effect on the performance and
operational reliability of the brake.

pedalsandfloorarea
WARNING
Objects in the driver's floor area can limit
the pedal distance or block a depressed pedal.
There is a risk of an accident. Stow objects in
the vehicle such that they are secured and
cannot enter into the driver's floor area. Use
floor mats that are suitable for the vehicle and
can be safely attached to the floor. Do not use loose floor mats and do not layer several floormats. Make sure that there is sufficient clearjance for the pedals. Ensure that the floor mats
are securely fastened again after they were rej
moved, e.g., for cleaning.'

High gross weight can overheat the tires,
damage them internally and cause a sudden
drop in tire inflation pressure. Driving characj
teristics may be negatively impacted, reducing
lane stability, lengthening the braking distanj ces and changing the steering response.
There is a risk of an accident. Pay attention to the permitted load capacity of the tires and
never exceed the permitted gross weight.'

The maximum load is the sum of the weight of
the occupants and the cargo.
The greater the weight of the occupants, the less cargo that can be transported.
Stowingandsecuringcargo

cargo.'yHeavy cargo: stow as far forward as possij
ble, directly behind and at the bottom of
the rear passenger seat backrests.'yVery heavy cargo: when the rear seat is not occupied, secure each of the outer safetybelts in the opposite buckle.'yIf necessary, fold down the rear backreststo stow cargo.'yDo not stack cargo above the top edge of

There are four lashing eyes in the cargo area for securing cargo.
Attach load securing aids, such as lashing straps, retaining straps, draw straps or cargonets, to the lashing eyes in the cargo area.

Hook the floor net into the fittings in the cargoarea floor.
Roof-mountedluggagerack Generalinformation
Roof racks are available as special accessories.

roof-mounted luggage rack, driving safety may
not be ensured in driving-critical situations due to the elevated center of gravity. There is a risk
