ServotronicPrinciple
Servotronic is a speed-dependent power
steering system.
The system provides more steering force asj sistance at lower speeds than at higher speeds. This makes it easier to park, for examj
ple, and provides a more direct steering feel
when driving at higher speeds.
In addition, the steering force is adapted acj cording to the drive programme, so that a dijrect, sporty feel or a comfortable steering rejsponse is conveyed.
ProgramsAdjustment possibilities of the steering force:'y"Sport Plus": high.'y"Sport": medium.'y"Comfort": low.

DrivingcomfortVehicleequipment
This chapter describes all standard, national
and special equipment available for the model
series. Therefore equipment which is not inj stalled in your vehicle, for example on account
of the selected optional equipment or the
country specification, may also be described
here. This also applies to safety-relevant funcj
tions and systems. Comply with the relevant
laws and regulations when using the correj
sponding functions and systems.
CruiseControl
Principle This system allows a desired speed to be setusing the buttons on the steering wheel. The
desired speed is then maintained by the sysj tem. To do this, the system automatically acj
celerates and brakes as necessary.
General
Characteristics of Cruise Control may change
in certain areas depending on vehicle setting.
Safetynotes WARNING
The system does not release you from
your personal responsibility to assess the trafj fic situation correctly. Due to system limitajtions, it cannot respond independently in anappropriate manner in all traffic conditions. There is a danger of accidents. Adapt yourdriving style to the traffic conditions. GeneralThe ultrasonic sensors for measuring the disjtances are located in the bumpers.
The range is approximately 2 m, 6 ft depending
on the obstacle and environment.
An acoustic warning is only issued in the
following situations:'yAt the front sensors and at the two corner sensors at the rear at a distance of approxijmately 60 cm, 24 in from the object.'yAt the middle sensors at the rear at a disj
tance of approx. 1.50 m, 5 ft from the obj
ject.'yIf there is a collision risk.

Warning
Acousticsignals An intermittent sound indicates that the vehijcle is approaching an object. For instance, if an
object is identified to the rear left of the vehij
cle, the acoustic signal is output from the rear
left loudspeaker.
The shorter the distance to an object bej comes, the shorter the intervals become.
If the distance to a detected object is less than
approximately 25 cm, 10 in, a continuous tone
sounds.
With front PDC: if there are simultaneously obj jects in front of and behind the vehicle, an alj
ternating continuous tone sounds.
Volumecontrol
It is possible to set the ratio between the volj
ume of the PDC acoustic signal and the volj
ume of the entertainment source playback.
Via iDrive:
1."My Vehicle"2."iDrive settings"3."Sound"4."Volume settings"5."PDC"6.Set the desired value.
The setting is saved for the currently used
driver profile.
Visualwarning
The approach of the vehicle to an object is
shown on the Control Display. Objects that are further away are already displayed before anacoustic signal is given.
A display is superimposed as soon as PDC is
activated.
The recording range of the sensors is shown in
green, yellow and red.
If the rear-view camera image is displayed, it is
possible to change over to PDC:
1.If necessary, tilt the Controller to the left.2. "Rear view camera"
