The interior movement detector and tilt
alarm sensor are not active because doors, bonnet or boot lid are not closed correctly.

If the open access points are then closed, the interior protection and tilt alarm sensor
are switched on.'yThe indicator lamp extinguishes after the vehicle has been unlocked:
No attempt has been made to tamper with
the vehicle.'yThe indicator lamp flashes after unlocking
until the ignition is switched on, but for no longer than approximately 5 minutes:
The alarm has been triggered.
Tiltalarmsensor The incline of the vehicle is monitored.
The alarm system responds, for example, when there is an attempt to steel a wheel or
when towing away.
Interiormovementdetector
To ensure perfect functioning, the windows
and Glass Roof must be closed.
Avoidingfalsealarms
General The tilt alarm sensor and the interior movejment detector may trigger an alarm withoutany unauthorised activity taking place.
Possible situations for an unwanted alarm:'yIn washing bays or car washes.'yIn two-level garages.'yDuring transport via motorail, car ferry ortrailer.'yWhen there are animals in the vehicle.
The tilt alarm sensor and interior protection
can be switched off for such situations.

Press the button on the remote control
again within 10 seconds, as soon as the
vehicle is locked.
The indicator lamp illuminates for approxij
mately 2 seconds and then flashes again.
The tilt alarm sensor and the interior movejment detector are switched off until the nexttime the vehicle is locked.

exceeds a certain value, the closing operaj tion is interrupted.2. Pull the switch past the resistance
point again within approximately 4 seconds and hold it there.
The window is closed without the anti-trap
mechanism.
Rollersunblinds
Rollersunblindforrearwindow
General If the roller sunblinds for the rear window canno longer be moved after a number of operaj
tions in immediate succession, the system is blocked for a limited time to prevent overheatjing. Allow the system to cool down.
The roller sunblind for the rear window cannot
be operated in low interior temperatures.

The Glass Roof and the sun blind can be operj ated separately or together with the sameswitch.
Safetynote WARNING
Operation of the Glass Roof can lead to
parts of the body becoming trapped. There is a
danger of injury. When opening and closing,
make sure that the area of movement of the
Glass Roof is free.'

Comfortposition
If the Glass Roof is not fully opened by autoj matic function, this means comfort position
has been reached. This position minimises
wind noise in the interior.
You can continue the movement by subsej
quently pressing the switch.
Afterswitchingofftheignition
The Glass Roof can still be opened or closed for approximately 1 minute after the ignitionhas been switched off.
Anti-trapmechanism
General If the closing force exceeds a certain value
when closing the Glass Roof, the closing operj ation is interrupted once the roof reaches thehalf-open position, or it is stopped when closjing from the raised position. Glass Roof isopened slightly.

In the event of danger from the outside, proj
ceed as follows:
1.Slide the switch forwards beyond the rej
sistance point and hold it there.
The Glass Roof is closed with a restricted
anti-trap mechanism. If the closing forceexceeds a certain value, the closing operaj tion is interrupted.2.Press the switch forwards once again bej
yond the resistance point and hold until the
Glass Roof closes without the anti-trap
mechanism. Ensure that the closing area is
clear.

hold it there.
The Glass Roof is closed withj

The Glass Roof functions may be restricted afj
ter a power cut during the opening or closing operation.
The system can be initialised under the following conditions.
'yThe vehicle is parked in a horizontal posij
tion.'yThe engine is running.'yThe outside temperature is above

tions and systems. Comply with the relevant
laws and regulations when using the correj
sponding functions and systems.
Safeseatingposition
A sitting position that suitably reflects the rej quirements of the occupants is essential forrelaxed driving with minimum fatigue.
In an accident, the correct seat position plays
an important role. For safe driving, additionally

Seats
Safetynotes WARNING
Adjusting the seat during a journey could
cause the seat to move unexpectedly. You
could lose control of the vehicle. There is a
danger of accidents. Only adjust the seat on
the driver's side when at a standstill.'

Forward/back
Pull the lever and slide the seat in the desireddirection.
After releasing the lever, move the seat gently
forward or back to make sure it engages propj
erly.
Height
Pull the lever and add or remove pressure on
the seat as required.
Backrestangle
Pull the lever and add or remove pressure on
the backrest as required.
Seatangle
Pull the lever and move the seat until the dej
sired angle is reached. After releasing the lever, sit on and get up out of the seat to makesure it engages properly.
Electricallyadjustableseats
General The driver's seat adjustment is saved for thecurrently used profile. When the vehicle is unj locked using the remote control, this position
is called up automatically if the function for thishas been activated, see page 60.
The current seat position can be saved with
the memory function, see page 73.

The curvature of the backrest can be changed
in such a way that the lumbar region, the lordoj sis, is supported. The upper edge of the pelvisand the spinal column are supported to enjcourage an upright posture.

Seatheating,front
Overview
Seat heating
Switchingon Press the button once for each temjperature level.
Maximum temperature is indicated by three
LEDs.
If the journey is continued within about 15 mij nutes after a temporary stop, the seat heating
is automatically activated with the last temperjature set.
Switchingoff Press and hold the button until the
LEDs are extinguished.

Safetynotes WARNING
Risk of entrapment when moving the
seats. There is a danger of injury or damage to
property. Before performing the setting, make
sure that the movement area of the seat is clear.'

For the safety of the vehicle occupants, the vej
hicle is equipped with four seat belts. However,
they can only provide effective protection
when worn correctly.
General Before every journey, make sure that all occujpants have fastened their seat belts. The airj
bags are a complementary safety feature and
not a substitute for the seat belts.
The belt anchorage is suitable for adults of any
stature if the seat is adjusted correctly.
Safetynotes WARNING
Never restrain more than one person
with each seat belt, otherwise the protective effect of the seat belt is no longer guaranteed.
There is a danger of injury or even death. Only
restrain one person with each seat belt. Do not allow infants and children to travel on the lap of
another occupant. Instead, secure the infant or
child in a child restraint system intended for
this purpose.'
