Incorporation
of
mobile
devices
Depending
on
the
vehicle
equipment,
mobile
de#j
vices
connected
to
the
vehicle,
for
instance smartphones,
can

controlled
via
the

elements.
The
sound
and
picture
from
the
mobile
device can
be
played
back
and
displayed
through
the
multimedia
system.
Certain
information
is
trans#j
ferred
to
the
mobile
device
at
the
same
time.

pending
on
the
type
of
incorporation,
this
in#j cludes,
for
instance
position
data
and
other
general
vehicle
information.
This
optimizes
the way
in
which
selected
apps,
for
instance

no
further
interaction
between
the

bile
device
and
the
vehicle,

as
active
access
to
vehicle
data.
How
the
data
will
be
processed
further
is

by
the
provider
of

app
being

possible
settings

pends
on
the
respective
app
and
the
operating
system

the
mobile

Services

Event
Data
Recorder
EDR
This
vehicle
is
equipped
with
an
event
data
re#jcorder
EDR.
The
main
purpose
of
an
EDR
is
torecord,
in
certain
crash
or
near
crash-like
situa#j
tions,
such
as
an
air
bag
deployment
or
hitting
a
road
obstacle,
data
that
will
assist
in
understand#j ing
how
a
vehicle#ss
systems
performed.
The
EDR
is
designed
to
record
data
related
to
vehicle
dynamics
and
safety
systems
for
a
short
period
of
time,
typically
30
seconds
or
less.
The
EDR
in
this
vehicle
is
designed
to
record such
data
as:
'xHow
various
systems
in
your
vehicle
were
op#j
erating.'xWhether
or
not
the
driver
and
passenger safety
belts
were
fastened.'xHow
far,
if
at
all,
the
driver
was
depressing
theaccelerator
and/or
brake
pedal.'xHow
fast
the
vehicle
was
traveling.
This
data
can
help
provide
a
better
understand#jing
of
the
circumstances
in
which
crashes
andinjuries
occur.
EDR
data
is
recorded
by
your
vehicle
only
if
a
nontrivial
crash
situation
occurs;
no
data
is
re#j corded
by
the
EDR
under
normal
driving
condi#j
tions
and
no
personal
data,
for
instance
name,
gender,
age,
and
crash
location,
are
recorded.
However,
other
parties,
such
as
law
enforce#j ment,
could
combine
the
EDR
data
with
the
type
of
personally
identifying
data
routinely
acquired
during
a
crash
investigation.
To
read
data
recorded
by
an
EDR,
special
equip#j ment
is
required,
and
access
to
the
vehicle
or
theEDR
is
needed.
In
addition
to
the
vehicle
manu#jfacturer,
other
parties,
such
as
law
enforcement,that
have
the
special
equipment,
can
read
the
in#jformation
if
they
have
access
to
