 Simultaneously press buttons
1 and 3 for approx. 2 seconds
– Display 2 changes to set
mode
– The clock reading flashes
 Briefly press button 3.
– Set the minutes:
– The longer you hold down
the button, the faster the
clock moves forward. 
Briefly press button 1.
– Set the hours:
– The longer you hold down
the button, the faster the
clock moves forward.
\f Note:
The clock automatically returns
to display mode if you wait long-
er than approx. 5 seconds with-
out pressing a button.
The clock always has to be re-
set if the battery is disconnected.

KeysYou will be supplied with two
master keys.
\f Note:
Ignition switch and steering
lock, stowage-compartment
lock and seat lock are all oper-
ated with the same key.
On request, the luggage carrier
and the topcase can be ar-
ranged to lock with the same
key.

Hazard warning flashers*
\f Note:
The ignition must be switched
on before the hazard warning
flashers can be used.
Do not use the hazard warning
flashers for longer than abso-
lutely necessary.
Note state of battery charge.

Starting – Riding – Parking
Important notes
Protection on the roadThe safety concept of the
BMW C1 offers you the most
protection against the weather
and accidents that a two-
wheeler can provide. We re-
commend that you wear weath-
erproof, protective clothing
when you ride the BMW C1.
Risk of fatal accidentYour BMW C1 is equipped with
a digital electronic engine man-
agement system (BMS) and a
high-output ignition system.
d Warning:
When the engine is running or
the ignition switched on, never
touch electrically live parts of
the ignition system or the
Digital Motor Electronics.
