A storage compartment is located in the center armrest between the seats.

Loading
Safetyinformation WARNING
High gross weight can overheat the tires,
damage them internally and cause a sudden drop in tire inflation pressure. Driving characjteristics may be negatively impacted, reducing
lane stability, lengthening the braking distanj ces and changing the steering response.
There is a risk of an accident. Pay attention to the permitted load capacity of the tires and
never exceed the permitted gross weight.'

Load
The maximum load is the sum of the weight of
the occupants and the cargo.
The greater the weight of the occupants, the less cargo that can be transported.
Stowingandsecuringcargo
'yCover sharp edges and corners on the
cargo.'yHeavy cargo: stow as far forward as possij
ble, directly behind and at the bottom of
the rear passenger seat backrests.'yVery heavy cargo: stow as far forward as
possible, directly behind and at the bottom

When the rear seat is not occupied, secure
each of the outer safety belts in the oppoj
site buckle.'yIf necessary, fold down the rear backrests to stow cargo.'yDo not stack cargo above the top edge of

nets, to the lashing eyes in the cargo area.
Fixedlashingeyes
There are four lashing eyes in the cargo area for securing cargo.
The front lashing eyes are located under covj
ers.
Movablelashingeyes
To secure the cargo there are additional movaj
ble lashing eyes in the cargo area.
The lashing eyes may be located underneath the cargo floor panel. The lashing eyes can beinserted into the openings in the rails.

To slide the lashing eyes, press the button, arj
row 1. Make sure that the lashing eyes latch at
the new position.

Multi-functionhook
Generalinformation
A multi-function hook is located on the left or right side in the cargo area.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Improper use of the multi-function hooks
can lead to a risk of objects flying about during
braking and evasive maneuvers, for example.
There is a risk of injury and risk of damage to
property. Only hang lightweight objects,
such as shopping bags, from the multi-funcj
tion hooks. Only transport heavy luggage in
the cargo area if it has been appropriately sej
cured.'

3.Fold down the multi-function hook, refer to
page 235.4.Lower the cargo floor panel, arrow 1, until it
is resting on the multi-function hook, arj row 2.
Retainingstrap
A retaining strap is available on the left side
trim for fastening small objects.
Net Small objects can be stowed in the net on theleft side.

The rear seat backrest is divided at a ratio of
40m20m40. The side rear seat backrests and
the center section can be folded down sepaj
rately.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the rear seat backrests can be folded down from the
rear or from the cargo area.

Danger of jamming with folding down the
backrests. There is a risk of injury or risk of damage to property. Make sure that the area ofmovement of the rear backrest and the of thehead restraint is clear prior to folding down.'

tacles until they reach the stop, arrow 1, and push them forward.4.Attach the cargo area partition net with the
lower two hooks into the two eyes on the folded-down rear seat backrest, arrows 2.
You may need to lift the rear seat backrests

page 238.2.Open the rear lids up on the roof frame unj
til they engage.3.Insert each of the two top retaining pins ofthe cargo area partition net into the recepj
tacles until they reach the stop, arrow 1, and push them forward.4.Attach the cargo area partition net with the
upper two hooks into the two eyes on the
rear seat backrest, arrows 2.
Skiandsnowboardbag
The ski and snowboard bag is contained in a
protective jacket in the cargo area.
Follow the installation and owner's manual inj
cluded in the protective jacket.
If equipped with emergency wheel: remove the
emergency wheel from the vehicle to mount
the ski and snowboard bag.
