Several menu items are preceded by a checkj
box. It indicates whether the function is actij vated or deactivated. Selecting the menu itemactivates or deactivates the function.

Entering letters requires some practice at the
beginning. When entering, pay attention to the

'yThe system distinguishes between upperand lower-case letters and numbers. For
entries, it may be necessary to change bej tween upper and lower-case letters, numjbers and characters, refer to page 25.'yEnter characters as they are displayed on
the Control Display.'yAlways enter associated characters, such
as accents or periods so that the letter can
be clearly recognized. The set language determines what input is possible. Where
necessary, enter special characters via the
controller.'yTo delete a character, swipe to the left on the touchpad.'yTo enter a blank space, swipe to the rightin the center of the touchpad.'yTo enter a hyphen, swipe to the right in theupper area of the touchpad.'yTo enter an underscore, swipe to the rightin the lower area of the touchpad.

Deleting
personal
data
in
the
vehicle
Concept
Depending on the usage, the vehicle saves
personal data, such as stored radio stations.
This personal data can be permanently deleted
using iDrive.

Depending on the equipment package, the folj
lowing data can be deleted:'yPersonal Profile settings.'yStored radio stations.'yStored Favorites buttons.'yTravel and onboard computer information.'yMusic collection.'yNavigation, e.g., stored destinations.'yPhone book.'yOnline data, e.g., Favorites, cookies.'yVoice notes.'yLogin accounts.'yRemoteApp smartphone tethering.
Altogether, the deletion of the data can take up
to 30 minutes.
