SettingsVehiclefeaturesandoptions
This chapter describes all standard, country- specific and optional features offered with theseries. It also describes features that are notnecessarily available in your vehicle, e. g., due
to the selected options or country versions.
This also applies to safety-related functions
and systems. When using these functions and systems, the applicable country provisions
must be observed.
Sittingsafely
An ideal seating position that meets the needs
of the occupants can make a vital contribution to relaxed, fatigue-free driving.
The seating position also plays an important role in an accident in combination with:'ySafety belts, refer to page 54.'yHead restraints, refer to page 56.'yAirbags.
Seats
Safetyinformation WARNING
Seat adjustments while driving can lead
to unexpected movements of the seat. Vehicle
control could be lost. There is a risk of an accij dent. Only adjust the seat on the driver's sidewhen the vehicle is stationary.'

Forward/backward
Pull the lever and slide the seat in the desireddirection.
After releasing the lever, move the seat forj
ward or back slightly making sure it engages
properly.
Height
Pull the lever and apply your weight to the seat or lift it off, as necessary.
Backresttilt
Pull the lever and apply your weight to the
backrest or lift it off, as necessary.
Seattilt
Pull the lever and move the seat to the desired
tilt. After releasing the lever, apply your weight to the seat or lift it off to make sure the seat
engages properly.

Generalinformation
The seat setting for the driver's seat is stored
for the profile currently used. When the vehicle
is unlocked via the remote control, the position
is automatically retrieved if the function is actij vated for this purpose.

Push switch forward or backward.
Height

Pull the lever at the front of the seat and adjustthe thigh support.
Lumbarsupport The curvature of the seat backrest can be adj
justed in a way that it supports the lumbar rej gion of the spine. The lower back and thespine are supported for upright posture.

Backrestwidth
You can change the width of the backrest usjing the side wings to adjust the lateral support.

Switchingon Press button once for each temperajture level.
The maximum temperature is reached when three LEDs are lit.
If the trip is continued within approx. 15 mij
nutes after a stop, seat heating is activated auj
tomatically with the temperature selected last.
When ECO PRO is activated, the heater output
is reduced.
Switchingoff Press and hold the button, until the
LEDs go out.

Numberofsafetybelts The vehicle is fitted with five safety belts to enjsure occupant safety. However, they can onlyoffer protection when adjusted correctly.
The two outer safety belt buckles, integrated
into the rear seat, are for passengers sitting on the left and right.

The center safety belt buckle of the rear seat is
solely intended for the person sitting in the middle.
Generalinformation
Always make sure that safety belts are being worn by all occupants before driving off. Alj
though airbags enhance safety by providing added protection, they are not a substitute forsafety belts.
Slowly guide the safety belt out of the holder when fastening it.
The upper shoulder strap's anchorage point
will be correct for adult seat occupants of evj ery build if the seat is correctly adjusted.
Safetyinformation WARNING
If the safety belt is used by more than
one person, the protective effect of the safety belt cannot be ensured anymore. There is arisk of injuries or danger to life. Do not allow
more than one person to wear a single safety
belt. Infants and children are not allowed on an occupant's lap, but must be transported andrespectively secured in designated child rejstraint systems.'

Damagetosafetybelts WARNING
The protective effect of the safety belts
may not be fully functional or fail in the followj
ing situations:'ySafety belts are damaged, soiled or
changed in any other way.'ySafety belt buckle is damaged or heavily
soiled.'yBelt tensioners or belt retractors were modified.
Safety belts can be imperceptibly damaged inthe event of an accident. There is a risk of injuj
ries or danger to life. Do not modify safety
belts, safety belt buckles, belt tensioners, belt
retractors or belt anchors and keep them
clean. Have the safety belts checked after an
accident at the dealerss service center or anj other qualified service center or repair shop.'

head restraint down.
Removing
The head restraints cannot be removed.
Rearheadrestraints
Safetyinformation WARNING
A missing protective effect due to rej
moved or not correctly adjusted head rej
straints can cause injuries in the head and neck area. There is a risk of injury. Install head
restraints on occupied seats prior to driving and make sure that the center of the head rej
straint supports the back of the head at eye
level.'

straint out completely.
Seatandmirrormemory
Concept
Two driver's seat and exterior mirror positions
can be stored per profile and called up. Setj tings for the backrest width and lumbar supjport are not stored in memory.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Using the memory function while driving
can lead to unexpected movements of the seat. Vehicle control could be lost. There is a
risk of an accident. Only retrieve the memory function when the vehicle is stationary.'

Mirrors
Exteriormirrors
Generalinformation The mirror on the passenger side is more
curved than the driver's side mirror.
Depending on the vehicle equipment, the mirj
ror setting is stored for the profile currently
used. When the vehicle is unlocked via the rej
mote control, the position is automatically rej
trieved if this function is active.
Safetyinformation WARNING
Objects reflected in the mirror are closer
than they appear. The distance to the traffic
behind could be incorrectly estimated, e.g.,
while changing lanes. There is a risk of an accij dent. Estimate the distance to the traffic bej
hind by looking over your shoulder.'

Fold the mirrors in and out is advantageous inthe following situations:'yIn vehicle washes.'yOn narrow roads.'yFor folding mirrors back out that werefolded away manually.
Mirrors that were folded in are folded out autoj
matically at a speed of approx.
25 mph/40 km/h.
Automaticheating Both exterior mirrors are automatically heated
whenever the engine is running.
Automaticdimmingfeature The exterior mirror on the driver's side is autoj
matically dimmed. Photocells are used to conj
trol the Interior mirror.

Turn the knob to reduce the blinding effect by
the interior mirror.

Photocells are used for control:

rearview mirror and the windshield.

Steering wheel adjustments while driving
can lead to unexpected steering wheel movej ments. Vehicle control could be lost. There is arisk of an accident. Adjust the steering wheelwhile the vehicle is stationary only.'
