The manufacturer of your vehicle recommends
that you have a dealerss service center or anj other qualified service center or repair shopregister the vehicle battery to the vehicle afterthe battery has been replaced. Once the batjtery has been registered again, all comfort feajtures will be available without restriction andany Check Control messages displayed which
relate to comfort features will disappear.

Vehicle batteries that are not compatible
can damage vehicle systems and impair vehij cle functions. There is a risk of personal and
property damage. Only vehicle batteries that are compatible with your vehicle type should
be installed in your vehicle. Information on
compatible vehicle batteries is available at your

Disposing
of
old
batteriesHave old batteries disposed of by adealerss service center or another
qualified service center or repair shop
or take them to a collection point.
Maintain the battery in an upright position for transport and storage. Secure the battery so
that it does not tip over during transport.
Fuses Safety

Incorrect and repaired fuses can overload
electrical lines and components. There is a risk of fire. Never attempt to repair a blown fuse.Do not replace a nonworking fuse with a subjstitute of another color or amperage rating.'

Jump-starting
General
information If the battery is discharged, the engine can be
started using the battery of another vehicle and two jumper cables. Only use jumper caj
bles with fully insulated clamp handles.

engine
Never use spray fluids to start the engine.

and let it run for several minutes at an inj creased idle speed.2.Start the engine of the vehicle that is to bestarted in the usual way.
If the first starting attempt is not successj
ful, wait a few minutes before making anj
other attempt in order to allow the disj
charged battery to recharge.3.Let both engines run for several minutes.4.Disconnect the jumper cables in the rej verse order.
Check the battery and recharge, if needed.
Tow-starting
and
towing Safety
information WARNING
Due to system limits, individual functions
can malfunction during tow-starting/towing with the Intelligent Safety systems activated,
for instance approach control warning with
braking function. There is a risk of an accident.
Switch all Intelligent Safety systems off prior to
tow-starting/towing.'

the towing vehicle is lighter than the vehicle to be towed, the tow fitting can tear off or it will
not be possible to control the vehicle's rej
sponse. There is a risk of an accident! Make
sure that the gross vehicle weight of the towj
ing vehicle is heavier than the vehicle to be
towed.'
