Reinitialize the Tire Pressure Monitor.
Replace the nonworking tire and the sealant
container of the Mobility System as soon as
possible.
Snowchains
Fine-linksnowchains
The manufacturer of your vehicle recommends use of fine-link snow chains. Certain types of
fine-link snow chains have been tested by the
manufacturer of the vehicle and recommended
as road-safe and suitable.
Information regarding suitable snow chains is
available from a dealer#ss service center or an#j
other qualified service center or repair shop.
Use WARNING
With the mounting of snow chains on un#j
suitable tires, the snow chains can come into contact with vehicle parts. There is a risk of ac#j
cidents or risk of property damage. Only mount
snow chains on tires that are designated by
their manufacturer as suitable for the use of
snow chains.'

Jackingpointsforthevehiclejack
The jacking points for the vehicle jack are lo#jcated at the positions shown.
Jackingupthevehicle
1.Hold the vehicle jack with one hand, ar#j
row 1, and grasp the crank, arrow 2, with
the other hand.
WARNING
Hands and fingers can be jammed
when using the vehicle jack. There is a risk
of injury. Comply with the described handposition and do not change this position
while using the vehicle jack.'

4.Make sure that the vehicle jack foot is ex#jtended vertically.5.Make sure that the vehicle jack foot stands
vertically and perpendicularly beneath the jacking point after extending the vehicle
jack.6.Crank up the vehicle jack until the entire
surface of the jack is in contact with the
ground and the wheel in question is raised
a maximum of 1.2 inches/3 cm off the ground.
Wheelmounting
Mount a maximum of one emergency wheel.
1.Unscrew the lug bolts and remove the
wheel.2.Put the new wheel or emergency wheel on and hand-tighten at least two bolts in a
crosswise pattern.
If non-original light-alloy wheels of the ve#j hicle manufacturer are mounted, the ac#j
companying lug bolts may have to be used
as well.3.Hand-tighten the remaining lug bolts and tighten all bolts well in a crosswise pattern.4.Turn the crank of the vehicle jack counter#j
clockwise to retract the vehicle jack and
lower the vehicle.5.Remove the vehicle jack.
Afterthewheelchange
1.Tighten the lug bolts crosswise. The tight#j ening torque is 101 lb ft/140 Nm.2.Stow the nonworking wheel in the cargo
area.
The nonworking wheel cannot be stored under the cargo floor panel because of its
size.3.Check tire inflation pressure at the next op#j
portunity and correct as needed.4.Reinitialize the Flat Tire Monitor.
Reset the Tire Pressure Monitor.5.Check to make sure the lug bolts are tight
with a calibrated torque wrench.6.Drive to the nearest dealer#ss service center
or another qualified service center or repair
shop to have the damaged tire replaced.
Emergencywheel
Generalinformation
In the event of a flat tire, the emergency wheel
can be used in place of the wheel with the de#j
fective tire. The emergency wheel is only in#j
tended for temporary use to allow you to get
the defective tire/wheel replaced.

DrivingwithemergencywheelWARNING
The emergency wheel has particular di#j
mensions. When driving with an emergency
wheel, changed driving properties may occur
at higher speeds, e.g., reduced lane stability
when braking, longer braking distance and
changed self-steering properties in the limit
area. There is a risk of an accident. Drive mod#j
erately and do not exceed a speed of
50 mph/80 km/h.'

Generalinformation
The engine oil consumption is dependent on
the driving style and driving conditions.
The engine oil consumption can increase in
the following situations, for example:'ySporty driving style.'yBreak-in of the engine.'yIdling of the engine.'yWith use of engine oil types that are classi#j
fied as not suitable.
Therefore, regularly check the engine oil level
after refueling.
The vehicle is equipped with electronic oil
measurement.
The electronic oil measurement has two meas#j uring principles:
'yStatus display.'yDetailed measurement.Electronicoilmeasurement
Statusdisplay
Concept
The engine oil level is monitored electronically
while driving and shown on the Control Dis#j play.
If the engine oil level reaches the minimum
level, a Check Control message is displayed.
Requirements A current measured value is available after ap#j
prox. 30 minutes of driving. During a shorter
trip, the status of the last, sufficiently long trip
is displayed.
With frequent short-distance trips, regularly perform a detailed measurement.
Displayingtheengineoillevel Via iDrive:1."Vehicle info"2."Vehicle status"3. "Engine oil level"
The engine oil level is displayed.
Engineoilleveldisplaymessages
Different messages appear on the display de#j pending on the engine oil level. Pay attention
to these messages.
If the engine oil level is too low within the next
125 miles/200 km, add engine oil.
A red indicator lamp indicates too high
engine oil pressure.
NOTE
An engine oil level that is too low causes
engine damage. There is a risk of property
damage. Immediately add engine oil.'

Take care not to add too much engine oil.NOTE
Too much engine oil can damage the en#j
gine or the catalytic converter. There is a risk
of property damage. Do not add too much en#j
gine oil. When too much engine oil is added,
have oil level corrected by a dealer#ss service
center or another qualified service center or re#j pair shop.'
