socket
for
OBD
Onboard
Diagnoj
sis
required
by
law
in
the
vehicle
is
used
to
read
out
the
data.

data
is
collected,
processed,
and
used
by the
relevant
organizations
in
the
service
network. The
data
documents
technical
conditions
of
thevehicle,
helps
with
the
identification
of
the
fault,compliance
with
warranty
obligations
and

Furthermore,
the
manufacturer
has

monitoring
duties
to

Data
Recorder
EDR
This
vehicle
is
equipped
with
an
event
data
rejcorder
EDR.
The
main
purpose
of
an
EDR
is
torecord,
in
certain
crash
or
near
crash-like
situaj
tions,
such
as
an
air
bag
deployment
or
hitting
a
road
obstacle,
data
that
will
assist
in
understandj ing
how
a
vehicless
systems
performed.
The
EDR
is
designed
to
record
data
related
to
vehicle
dynamics
and
safety
systems
for
a
short
period
of
time,
typically
30
seconds
or
less.
The
EDR
in
this
vehicle
is
designed
to
record such
data
as:
'xHow
various
systems
in
your
vehicle
were
opj
erating.'xWhether
or
not
the
driver
and
passenger safety
belts
were
fastened.'xHow
far,
if
at
all,
the
driver
was
depressing
theaccelerator
and/or
brake

EDR
data
is
recorded
by
your
vehicle
only
if
a
nontrivial
crash
situation
occurs;
no
data
is
rej corded

EDR
under
normal
driving

tions
and
no
personal
data,

instance
name,
gender,
age,
and
crash
location,
are
recorded.
However,
other
parties,
such
as
law
enforcej ment,
could
combine
the
EDR
data
with
the
type
of
personally
identifying
data
routinely
acquired
during
a
crash
investigation.
To
read
data
recorded
by
an
EDR,
special
equipj ment
is
required,

access
to
the
vehicle
