Height
General The outside head restraints can be adjusted inheight.
Adjusting'yDownwards: press the button, arrow 1, and
slide the head restraint downwards.'yUpwards: push head restraint upwards.
Removing
The outer head restraints can be removed.Only remove the head restraint if no one will be sitting on the seat in question.
1.Raise head restraint until resistance.2.Press the button, arrow 1, and pull thehead restraint fully out.
Memoryfunction
Principle
With the memory function, the following setj
tings can be saved and called up if required:
'ySeat position.'yExterior mirror position.'ySteering wheel position.'yHeight of the Head-Up Display.
General
For each driver profile, see page 43, two memj
ory slots can be occupied with different setj tings.
Depending on the equipment, the following
settings are not saved:
'yBackrest width.'yLumbar support.
Safetyinstructions
WARNING
Using the memory function during the
journey can lead to unexpected seat or steerj ing wheel movements. You could lose controlof the vehicle. Danger of accidents. Only callup the memory function at a standstill.'

3. Press the button. LED in button is
illuminated.4.Press the desired button 1 or 2 while the LED is lit. LED turns off.
Button was pressed inadvertently:
Press the button again.
LED turns off.
Recalling The saved position is called up automatically.
Press the desired button 1 or 2.
The operation is halted when you press a seat
adjustment switch or one of the memory butj tons.
Adjusting the seat position on the driver's side is interrupted after a short time during the jourj ney.
Callinguphasbeendisabled After a short time, calling up saved seat posij
tions is disabled to prevent the battery from
being discharged.
To reactivate calling up:
'yOpen or close a door or the tailgate.'yPress a button on the remote control.'yPress the start/stop button.
Mirrors
Exteriormirrors
General The mirror setting is saved for the currently
used driver profile. When the vehicle is unj locked using the remote control, this positionis called up automatically if the function, seepage 46, for this has been activated.
The current exterior mirror position can be
saved with the memory function, see page 61.
Safetynote
WARNING
Objects reflected in the mirror are closer
than they appear. The distance to road users
behind the vehicle could be incorrectly estimaj ted, for example when changing lane. Danger
of accidents. Look over your shoulder to estij mate the distance from following traffic.'

Principle
When reverse gear is engaged, mirror glass on
front passenger side is tilted downwards. This
improves the view of the kerb or other obstaj
cles near the ground, for example when parkj ing.
Activating1. Push switch to driver's mirror posij
tion.2.Engage selector lever position R.
When towing a trailer, the automatic parking
function is switched off.
Deactivating
Push switch to front passenger's mirror posij tion.
Foldinginandout NOTE
Due to the vehicle's width, it could susj
tain damage in car washes. Danger of damage
to property. Fold in the mirrors manually or usj ing the button prior to washing.'

Electricalsteeringwheeladjustment
General The steering wheel adjustment is saved for theprofile currently in use. When the vehicle is unjlocked using the remote control, this positionis called up automatically if the function, seepage 46, for this has been activated.
The current steering wheel position can be
saved with the memory function, see page 61.
Adjusting
Press the switch in the forward/back direction to adjust the steering wheel, and adapt the
height to the seat position.
Easyentry/exit The steering wheel temporarily moves to its
highest position to facilitate entry and exit.

General Accident research has shown that the safest
place for children is on the rear seat.
Children younger than 12 years old or less
than 150 cm, 5 ft in height are only allowed to be transported in the rear using child restraintsystems appropriate for their age, weight andstature. Children older than 12 years must besecured with a seat belt as soon as a suitable
child restraint system is no longer appropriate due to their age, weight and stature.
Safetynote WARNING
Children less than 150 cm, 5 ft in height
cannot put on the seat belt correctly without using additional child restraint systems. The
protective effect of the seat belts can be rej
stricted or they can be rendered ineffective if put on incorrectly. If a seat belt is not worn corj
rectly, additional injuries can be caused, for exj
ample in the event of an accident or braking
and evasive manoeuvres. Danger of injury orlife. Children smaller than 150 cm, 5 ft in height must be secured in suitable child restraint sysj
tems.'

If the seat adjustment or child seat instalj
lation is incorrect, the stability of the child rej
straint system will be restricted or rendered inj effective. Danger of injury or life. Make sure thechild restraint system is firmly positioned
against the backrest. In all relevant backrests,
adapt the backrest angle if possible and set the
seats correctly. Make sure that the seats and
their backrests are correctly engaged. If possij ble, adjust the height of the head restraints, or
remove them.'
