ConnectingthecablesTo prevent personal injury or damage to bothvehicles, adhere strictly to the following procejdure.1.Pull off the lid of the BMW starting aid terj
minal.2.Attach one terminal clamp of the positive
jumper cable to the positive terminal of the battery, or to the corresponding starting
aid terminal of the vehicle providing assisj
tance.3.Attach the terminal clamp on the other end of the cable to the positive terminal of the
battery, or to the corresponding starting
aid terminal of the vehicle to be started.4.Attach one terminal clamp of the negative jumper cable to the negative terminal ofthe battery, or to the corresponding engine
or body ground of assisting vehicle.5.Attach the second terminal clamp to the
negative terminal of the battery, or to the corresponding engine or body ground of
the vehicle to be started.
Startingtheengine
Never use spray fluids to start the engine.
1.Start the engine of the assisting vehicle
and let it run for several minutes at an inj creased idle speed.2.Start the engine of the vehicle that is to bestarted in the usual way.
If the first starting attempt is not successj
ful, wait a few minutes before making anj
other attempt in order to allow the disj
charged battery to recharge.3.Let both engines run for several minutes.4.Disconnect the jumper cables in the rej verse order.
Check the battery and recharge, if needed.
Tow-startingandtowing
Safetyinformation WARNING
Due to system limits, individual functions
can malfunction during tow-starting/towing with the Intelligent Safety systems activated.
There is a risk of an accident. Switch all Intellij gent Safety systems off prior to tow-starting/
towing.'

Wash your vehicle frequently, particularly in

ers, components can be damaged due to the pressure or temperatures being too high.There is a risk of property damage. Maintain

Generalinformation
In a vehicle wash, the vehicle must be able to roll freely.
Roll or push the vehicle, refer to page 87.
Drivingoutofavehiclewash Ensure that the vehicle key is in the car.
Start the engine, refer to page 74.
Headlights Do not rub wet headlights dry and do not use
abrasive or acidic cleaning agents.
Soak areas that have been dirtied, for instance
from insects, with shampoo and wash off with water.
Thaw ice with de-icing spray; do not use an ice
scraper.
Afterwashingthevehicle
After washing the vehicle, apply the brakes
briefly to dry them; otherwise, braking action
can be reduced. The heat generated during braking dries brake discs and brake pads andprotects them against corrosion.
Completely remove all residues on the winj
dows, to minimize loss of visibility due to
smearing and to reduce wiper noises and
wiper blade wear.
Vehiclecare Vehiclecareproducts
Generalinformation BMW recommends using vehicle care and
cleaning products from BMW. Suitable care products are available from a dealerss service
center or another qualified service center or rej pair shop.Safetyinformation

Cleansers can contain substances that

Use leather care products; otherwise, dirt and
grease will gradually break down the protective layer of the leather surface.
Upholsterymaterialcare
Generalinformation Vacuum the upholstery regularly with a vacj
uum cleaner.
If upholstery is very dirty, for instance with bevj erage stains, use a soft sponge or microfiber cloth with a suitable interior cleaner.
Clean the upholstery down to the seams usinglarge sweeping motions. Avoid rubbing thematerial vigorously.

Open Velcron fasteners on articles of
clothing can damage the seat covers. There is a risk of property damage. Ensure that any Velj
cron fasteners are closed.'

Chemical cleansers can destroy the
safety belt webbing. Missing protective effect
