Manual Leg Extension
On vehicles with this feature, adjust the manual leg
extension by reaching under it, in the pocketed area.
Press the release button and pull or push to lengthen or
shorten it. Release the button to lock it in place.
Power Seats
On vehicles with power seats, the controls are located
on the outboard side of the seats.
Move the seat forward or rearward by sliding the
horizontal control forward or rearward.
Raise or lower the front part of the seat cushion by
moving the front of the horizontal control up or down.
Raise or lower the rear part of the seat cushion by
moving the rear of the horizontal control up or down.
Raise or lower the entire seat by moving the entire
horizontal control up or down.

Child Restraints
Older Children
Older children who have outgrown booster seats should
wear the vehicle’s safety belts.The manufacturer’s instructions that come with the
booster seat state the weight and height limitations for
that booster. Use a booster seat with a lap-shoulder belt
until the child passes the below t test:
Sit all the way back on the seat. Do the knees bend
at the seat edge? If yes, continue. If no, return to
the booster seat.
Buckle the lap-shoulder belt. Does the shoulder belt
rest on the shoulder? If yes, continue. If no, try
using the rear safety belt comfort guide. See “Rear
Safety Belt Comfort Guides” underLap-Shoulder
Belt on page 1-28for more information. If the
shoulder belt still does not rest on the shoulder,
then return to the booster seat.
Does the lap belt t low and snug on the hips,
touching the thighs? If yes, continue. If no, return to
the booster seat.
Can proper safety belt t be maintained for the
length of the trip? If yes, continue. If no, return
to the booster seat.
If you have the choice, a child should sit in a
position with a lap-shoulder belt and get the
additional restraint a shoulder belt can provide.

Flash-to-Pass
This feature allows the high-beam headlamps to be
used to signal the driver in front of you that you want
to pass.
Pull and hold the turn signal/multifunction lever toward
you to use this feature. When this is done the following
will occur:
If the headlamps are off, in low-beam or in Daytime
Running Lamps (DRL) mode, the high-beam
headlamps will turn on. They will stay on as long as
the lever is held there. Release the lever to turn
them off.
For vehicles with High Intensity Discharge (HID)
headlamps, the low-beam headlamps must be
on to activate the high-beam headlamps. SeeHigh
Intensity Discharge (HID) Lighting on page 5-57.
If the headlamps are already in high-beam mode,
they will remain on high-beam.
Windshield Wipers
The lever on the right side of the steering column
operates the windshield wipers.
Move the lever to one of the following positions:
7(Mist):Pull the lever down and release it for a
single wiping cycle. The lever will return to its original
position. Hold the lever in this position for continuous
wiping cycles.
&(Delay):For a delayed wiping cycle. Turn the delay
adjustment band to set the length of the delay.
6(Delay Adjustment):Use this band to set the length
of the delay between wipes when using the delay
feature. The closer the band is moved towards
7,
the longer the delay. The windshield wiper lever must be
in delay for this feature to work.

The heating, cooling, and ventilation for the vehicle can
be controlled with this system.

Automatic Operation
AUTO (Automatic):The system automatically controls
fan speed, air delivery, and air conditioning in order
to heat or cool the vehicle to the desired temperature.
When the indicator light is on, the system is in full
automatic operation. If the air delivery mode or fan
setting is manually adjusted, the auto indicator turns
off and displays will show the selected settings.
1. Press the AUTO button.
2. Adjust the temperature to a comfortable setting
between 70°F (21°C) and 80°F (27°C).
Choosing the coldest or warmest temperature setting
will not cause the system to heat or cool any faster.
If the system is set at the warmest temperature
setting, it remains in manual mode at that
temperature and it will not go into automatic mode.
To avoid blowing cold air in cold weather, the system
delays turning on the fan until warm air is available.
The system starts out blowing air at the oor, but can
automatically change modes as the vehicle warms
up to maintain the chosen temperature setting.
The length of time needed for warm up depends on
the outside temperature and the length of time that
has elapsed since the vehicle was last driven.
3. Wait for the system to regulate. This may take from
10 to 30 minutes. Then adjust the temperature, if
necessary.

Using an MP3
MP3/WMA Format
The Single CD and the Six-Disc CD Radio will play
MP3/WMA les that were recorded on a CD-R or
CD-RW disc. The HDD Radio is similar and can also
play MP3/WMA les recorded on DVD +/−R discs or a
USB storage device.
The les can be recorded with the following xed bit
rates: 32 kbps, 40 kbps, 56 kbps, 64 kbps, 80 kbps,
96 kbps, 112 kbps, 128 kbps, 160 kbps, 192 kbps,
224 kbps, 256 kbps, and 320 kbps or a variable bit rate.
Song title, artist name, and album can display when les
are recorded using ID3 tags version 1 and 2.
Creating an MP3/WMA Disc
If you burn your own MP3/WMA disc on a personal
computer:
Make sure the MP3/WMA les are recorded on a
CD-R or CD-RW disc.
Do not mix standard audio and MP3/WMA les on
one disc.
Make sure the CD does not have more than a
maximum of 50 folders and playlists, and 255 les to
read and play.
Create a folder structure that makes it easy to nd
songs while driving. Organize songs by albums
using one folder for each album. Each folder
or album should contain 18 songs or less.
Avoid subfolders. The system can support up to
8 subfolders deep, keep the total number of
folders to a minimum to reduce the complexity and
confusion during playback.
Make sure playlists have a .mp3 or .wpl extension
(other le extensions may not work).
Minimize the length of the le, folder or playlist
names. Long le, folder, or playlist names, or a
combination of a large number of les and folders,
or playlists can cause the player to be unable to
play up to the maximum number of les, folders,
playlists, or sessions.
Finalize the audio disc before burning it. Adding
music to an existing disc can cause the disc not
to function.

License Plate Lamp
To replace one of these bulbs, do the following:
1. Push tab to remove the license plate lamp.
2. Turn the license plate lamp assembly down to
remove it.
3. Turn the socket counterclockwise and remove it.
4. Pull the bulb straight out to remove it.
5. Push the new bulb straight into the socket.
6. Reverse Steps 1 through 3 to reinstall the license
plate lamp assembly.

Windshield Wiper Blade
Replacement
Windshield wiper blades should be inspected for wear or
cracking. SeeOwner Checks and Services on page 6-10.
It is a good idea to clean or replace the wiper blade
assembly on a regular basis or when worn. For proper
windshield wiper blade length and type, see
Maintenance Replacement Parts on page 6-16.
To replace the wiper blade assembly:
1. Turn the ignition to ON/RUN with the engine off.
2. Turn on the windshield wipers and turn them
off again when the wipers are in the out-wipe
position. The driver side blade will be straight up
and down on the windshield.
3. Pull the windshield wiper assembly away from the
windshield.
