FUEL TANK Opening the cap may cause an inrush
of air. This vacuum, which is completely
normal, is caused by the sealing of the
fuel system.
To fi ll the tank safely:

 the engine
must be
switched off,

 pull the control A located at the
bottom right of the driver’s seat to
release the fuel fi ller fl ap,

 open the fuel fi ller fl ap B ,

 turn the fi ller cap C to the left,
When you have fi lled the tank:

 refi t the fi ller cap, inserting the up-
per part fi rst,

 screw in the fi ller cap to the right,

 close the fl ap.
Ensure that the fuel fi ller fl ap is closed
correctly.
 remove the fi ller cap C ,

 fi ll the tank, but do not continue af-
ter the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Filling
A label, affi xed on the inside of the fl ap,
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used according to your engine.
More than 5 litres of fuel must be added
in order to be registered by the fuel gauge. When the low fuel level is
reached, this indication ap-
pears on the instrument
panel screen. When it fi rst
comes on, approximately
10 litres of fuel remain.
The symbol fl ashes slowly (approxi-
mately once per second).
When the symbol begins to

fl ash rapidly (approximately
twice per second), there is not
much fuel remaining in your tank (ap-
proximately 5 litres).
You must fi ll the tank to avoid running
out of fuel.
This symbol indicates that the
fuel tank cap is located on the
left-hand side of the vehicle.
Location of the cap

1. Opening.

2. Closing.

Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres.

Quality of the fuel used for Diesel engines
The Diesel engines are perfectly com-
patible with biofuels which conform to
current and future European standards
(Diesel fuel which complies with stan-
dard EN 590 mixed with a biofuel which
complies with standard EN 14214)
available at the pumps (containing up
to 7 % Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in cer-
tain Diesel engines; however, this use
is subject to strict application of the
special servicing conditions. Consult a
CITROËN dealer.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel
(vegetable or animal oils, pure or dilut-
ed, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited
(risk of damage to the engine and fuel
system).
petrol engines
The petrol engines are perfectly com-
patible with E10 type petrol biofuels
(containing 10 % ethanol), conforming
to European standards EN 228 and
EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 %
ethanol) are reserved exclusively for ve-
hicles marketed for the use of this type
of fuel (BioFlex vehicles). The quality of
the ethanol must comply with European
standard EN 15293.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are
marketed to run on fuels containing up
to 100 % ethanol (E100 type).

LIGHTING STALK
Additional lighting
Other lamps are installed to fulfi l the re-
quirements of particular driving condi-
tions:
- rear foglamps to be seen from a distance,
- front foglamps for even better visibility,
- daytime running lamps to be seen during the day. Certain functions of the lighting stalk
(automatic illumination of headlamps,
sensitivity) can be confi gured via the
colour screen "Equipment" menu.
Manual controls
The lighting commands are issued directly
by the driver by means of the ring
A and
the stalk B . Lamps off.

B. Stalk for switching headlamps: pull
to switch the lighting between dipped

In the lamps off and sidelamps modes,
the driver can switch on the main beam
headlamps temporarily ("headlamp

Lighting of the corresponding indicator
lamp on the instrument panel confi rms
the switching on of the lighting selected.

On vehicles fi tted with daytime run-

both day and night, the front
foglamps and the rear foglamps
are prohibited. In these situations,
the power of their beams may dazzle
other drivers.
Do not forget to switch off the front
foglamps and the rear foglamps
when they are no longer necessary.
Lighting on reminder
An audible signal when the driver’s
door is opened warns the driver if the
vehicle lighting is on, with the ignition
off.
Switching off the lighting stops the
audible signal.
If condensation is present, switch the
headlamps on for a few minutes in
order to clear it.

Automatic illumination of headlamps Daytime running lamps *
* According to country.
Automatic switching off
When the lights stalk is at "dipped head-
lamps or main beam headlamps", if the
ignition switch is at "LOCK" or "ACC" or
if the key has been removed from the
ignition switch, the lights switch off auto-
matically when the driver's door is
opened . On vehicles which are equipped with day-
time running lamps, the dipped beam head-
lamps come on when the vehicle is started.
This warning lamp comes on
in the instrument panel.
The instruments and controls (instru-
ment panel, multifunction screen, air
conditioning control panel, ...) are illu-
minated. The sidelamps and the dipped beam
headlamps come on automatically, with-
out any action on the part of the driver,
if a low level of exterior light is detected
or if the wipers are switched on.
When the light returns to a suffi cient
level or the wipers are switched off, the
lighting is switched off automatically.
The sensor is located at the base of the
windscreen.
Contact a CITROËN dealer to adjust
the sensitivity of the sensor.
In foggy weather or in snow, the
sunshine sensor may detect suf-
fi cient light. The lighting will not
come on automatically.
Do not cover the sunshine sensor, the
associated functions will no longer be
controlled.
The sensitivity of the automatic illumi-
nation of headlamps can be confi g-
ured via the colour screen "Equipment"
menu.
