Rear screen demist - defrost
The control button is located on the heating / ventilation or air conditioning system controlpanel.


Switching on

The rear screen demisting/defrosting can onlyoperate when the engine is running.)Press this button to demist/defrost the rear screen and (depending on version) the door mirrors. The indicator lamp associated with
the button comes on.

Switching off
The demisting/defrosting switches off automatically to prevent an excessive consumption of current.)
It is possible to stop the demisting/defrosting operation before it is switched
off automatically by pressing the button
again. The indicator lamp associated with
the button goes off. )
Switch off the demisting/defrosting of the rear screen and door mirrors, if fitted,
as soon as appropriate, as lower currentconsumption results in reduced fuelconsumption.



Heated lower windscreen *

In cold conditions, the heated rear window switch also allows the lower windscreen to beheated, so as to free the wiper blades whenfrozen to the glass by frost or snow.


The function is active when the ambient temperature is below 0°C.

Glove box Sun visor

Provides protection against sunlight from the front or the side.
The passenger's sun visor is fitted with a cour tesy mirror with concealing flap and a
ticket holder.
It can b e used to hold a water bottle, the
vehicle's handbook pack... Depending on version, it may have a lid. In thiscase: ) To open the glove box, raise the handle.
It houses the front passenger airbagdeactivation switch A .

This "AUX"connection box, consisting of a JACK auxiliary socket and a USB port,is located on the centre console.
It allows the connection of por table device,
such as a di
gital audio player of the iPod® type®
or a USB memory stick.
It reads the audio file formats (MP3, OGG, WMA,
WAV, ...) which are transmitted to your audio
system and played via the vehicle's speakers.
You can mana
ge these files using the audio
system control panel and display them in the instrument panel screen.

When the USB por t is used, the por table device
charges automatically.

the lever to open the lid.

the armrest, lift the complete armrest
towards the rear.

)To use the cigarette lighter, press it in and wait a few seconds until it pops outautomatically. )To connect a 12 V accessory (max power:
120 W), remove the cigarette lighter andconnect a suitable adaptor.
You can use this socket to connect a telephonecharger, a bottle warmer...
After use, put the cigarette lighter back intoplace straight away.

It also contains the vehicle tools, the temporary puncture repair kit...

Starting - stopping the engine
)Inser t the key in the ignition switch.
The system recognises the star ting code. )Turn the key fully towards the dashboard toposition 3 (Starting).)When the engine star ts, release the key.

Starting


A heavy object (key fob...), attached to the key and weighing down on its shaft in the ignition switch, could cause amalfunction.
Key left in the "Ignition on"position
On opening the driver's door, an aler t message is displayed, accompanied by an audible signal, to remind you that the key isstill in the ignition switch at position 1 (Stop).

Immobilise the vehicle.)
Turn the key fully towards you to
position 1 (Stop).)
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
Switching off

If the key has been left in the ignitionswitch at position 2 (Ignition on),the ignition will be switched off automatically after one hour.
To switch the ignition back on, turn the key to position 1 (Stop)
, then back toposition 2 (Ignition on).

Manual parking brake
Application
)Pull the parking brake lever up toimmobilise your vehicle.



Release
)
Pull the parking brake lever up gently,
press the release button then lower the
lever fully.
When parking on a slope, direct your wheels against the kerb, apply the parking brake, engage a gear and switch off the ignition.
When the vehicle is being driven,
if this warning lamp and the STOPwarning lamp come on, accompanied by an audible signal and a message in the
screen, indicating that the parking brake is stillon or has not been fully released.

Only engage reverse gear when the vehicle is stationary with the engine at idle.
As a safety precaution and to facilitate star ting of the engine:


- always select neutral,

- press the clutch pedal.
