Charging the battery using
a battery charger
)Star t the other vehicle and wait a fewminutes.)Turn the ignition key on your vehicle, until
the "Ready" lamp comes on.
)Disconnect the cables in the reverse order.)Refit the battery protective cover and
tighten the fixing screw.
I
f the "Ready" lamp does not come on, proceedas follows: )Leave the cables connected. )Return the ignition switch on your vehicle to
the " LOCK" position. )Put the main battery on charge, followingthe procedure for normal charging (see the"charging the main battery" section). )When the charging warning lamp in
the instrument panel comes on fixed,disconnect the cables.)Leave the battery on charge for at least one hour. )Turn the ignition key on your vehicle, until
the "Ready" lamp comes on.
If the problem persists, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

)
Remove the protective cover from thebattery.
Ensure that the electrolyte is not frozen.Check the electrolyte level and top upwith distilled water if necessary (refer tothe "checking levels" section).
)Slacken nut 1
and lift off the retaining bar.
