ACCESS
IMMOBILISER
This locks the engine management
system as soon as the ignition has been
switched off and therefore prevents
starting of the vehicle by anyone who
does not have the key.
The ignition key has an electronic chip
which has a special code. When the
ignition is switched on, the code must be
recognised for starting to be possible.
In the event of a malfunction, your
vehicle will not start.
Contact a CITROËN dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.
Changing the remote control
battery
To change the battery, remove the
screw then unclip the housing using
a coin inserted at the ring.
Battery CR 2016/3 volts.
If the remote control does not work
after the battery has been changed,
reinitialise it.
Reinitialising the remote
control
Following replacement of the remote
control battery or in the event of
a remote control fault, it may be
necessary to reinitialise the system.

 Switch off the ignition.

 Switch the ignition on again.

 Press one of the remote control
buttons immediately for a few
seconds.

 Switch off the ignition and remove
the key from the ignition lock.
The remote control is now working
again.
If the fault persists, contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
Driving with the doors locked
may make access to the
passenger compartment by
the emergency services more
diffi cult in an emergency.
As a safety measure (with children
on board), remove the key from the
ignition when leaving the vehicle,
even for a short time.
Do not make any modifi cations to the
electronic immobiliser system.
Do not discard the remote
control batteries, they contain
metals which are harmful to
the environment.
Take them to a CITROËN dealership,
or to any other approved collection
point. The high frequency remote control is
a sensitive system; do not operate it
in your pockets as there is a risk that
it may unlock the vehicle without you
being aware of this.
Avoid pressing the buttons of your
remote control out of range of
your vehicle, you risk rendering it
inoperative. It would then have to be
reinitialised.

CHECKS
Oil filter
Change the fi lter regularly, in accor-
dance with the servicing schedule. Only use products recom-
mended by CITROËN or
products of equivalent quality
and specifi cation.
In order to optimise the operation
of units as important as the braking
system, CITROËN selects and offers
specifi c products.
In order to avoid damaging the
electrical units, high pressure washing to clean the engine compartment is
strictly prohibited.
To check the main levels and certain
components, in accordance with the
manufacturer's servicing schedule,
refer to the pages of the servicing
booklet which correspond to your
vehicle's engine.
Battery
At the start of winter, have your
battery checked by a CITROËN
dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
Air filter and passenger
compartment filter
Have the fi lter elements replaced
regularly.
If you drive in dusty
conditions, change them twice as
often.
Brake pads
Brake pad wear depends on the style
of driving, in particular for vehicles
which are used in town, over short
distances. Disc and drum wear
For information on disc and drum
surface wear, contact a CITROËN
dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
Manual gearbox
Have the level checked in accord-
ance with the manufacturer's servic-
ing schedule.
It may be necessary to check
the thickness of the pads,
even between services. Parking brake
Where the parking brake travel is
too great or there is a reduction in
the performance of the system, the
parking brake should be adjusted,
even between services.
Have the system checked by a
CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
TOWING THE VEHICLE

Your vehicle can only be towed at
the front.
Lifting (2 wheels only
on the road)

Never use the radiator crossmember.
Towing with fours wheels on the road
must be carried out at very low speed
over a very short distance (in accor-
dance with the legislation in force).
In all other cases, your vehicle must
be transported on a trailer.
Without lifting
(4 wheels on the road)
The removable towing eye is stored
in the spare wheel, under the boot
carpet.

 Unclip the bottom of the cover,

Screw in the towing eye until it locks.
Place the gear lever in posi-
tion N for the "SensoDrive"
gearbox.
FITTING ROOF BARS
Please refer to national legis-
lation in order to comply with
the regulations concerning the
transportation of objects which
are longer than the vehicle.
Vehicles fitted with a manual
gearbox
In the case of vehicles fi tted with a
manual gearbox, the gear lever must
be in the neutral position.
Failure to observe this special con-
dition may result in damage to cer-
tain braking components and the
absence of braking assistance the
next time the engine is started.
When fi tting transverse roof bars,
use the accessories recommended
by CITROËN and follow the manu-
facturer's fi tting instructions.
For more information, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed work-
shop.

Maximum weight authorised on
the bars, for a loading height not
exceeding 40 cm (except bicycle
carrier): 50 kg.

If the height exceeds 40 cm, adapt
the speed of the vehicle to the pro-
fi le of the road to avoid damaging
the roof bars.
General
recommendations
Observe the legislation in
force in your country.
Ensure that the weight of the towing
vehicle is higher than that of the towed
vehicle.
The driver must stay at the wheel of
the towed vehicle.
Driving on motorways and fast roads
is prohibited when towing.
When towing a vehicle with all four
wheels on the ground, always use an
approved towing bar; rope and straps
are prohibited.
When towing a vehicle with the en-
gine off, there is no longer any power
assistance for braking or steering.
In the following cases, you must al-
ways call on a professional recovery
service:
- vehicle broken down on a motorway or fast road,
- when it is not possible to put the gearbox into neutral, unlock the
steering, or release the parking
brake,
- towing with only two wheels on the ground,
- where there is no approved towing bar available...
