BOOT FITTINGS
2. Spare wheel/Additional storage compartments
Located under the carpet and a
plastic cover, this contains the tools
for wheel changing and towing.
There are two shelf storage options:
- either behind the rear seats,
- or fl at in the boot.
1. Rear parcel shelf
To remove the shelf:
- unhook the shelf from its fi xing
A ,
- pull upwards on each side to detach it from its fi xings,
- raise then tilt the shelf slightly to remove it. In order to obtain additional
space, the spare wheel can be
removed temporarily (boot tray
available as an accessory).

Parking the vehicle

 As far as possible, immobilise
the vehicle on level, stable, non-
slippery ground.

 Apply the parking brake, switch
off the ignition and engage fi rst
gear or reverse for the manual
gearbox, position N for the
"SensoDrive" gearbox. Tools
The following tools are installed in a
carrier, located in the centre of the
spare wheel:

1. Wheelbrace

2. Jack with handle

3. Removable towing eye
Access to the spare wheel and
the jack in the boot

 Remove the carpet then the
plastic cover using the handle. Tyre pressures
These are indicated on the label po-
sitioned on the inner pillar of the left
door, see "Identifi cation markings".
CHANGING A WHEEL

 If necessary, chock the wheel
diagonally opposite the wheel to
be changed.

 It is imperative that you ensure
that the occupants get out of
the vehicle and wait in a safe
location.

TOWING THE VEHICLE

Your vehicle can only be towed at
the front.
Lifting (2 wheels only
on the road)

Never use the radiator crossmember.
Towing with fours wheels on the road
must be carried out at very low speed
over a very short distance (in accor-
dance with the legislation in force).
In all other cases, your vehicle must
be transported on a trailer.
Without lifting
(4 wheels on the road)
The removable towing eye is stored
in the spare wheel, under the boot
carpet.

 Unclip the bottom of the cover,


Screw in the towing eye until it locks.
Place the gear lever in posi-
tion N for the "SensoDrive"
gearbox.
FITTING ROOF BARS
Please refer to national legis-
lation in order to comply with
the regulations concerning the
transportation of objects which
are longer than the vehicle.
Vehicles fitted with a manual
gearbox
In the case of vehicles fi tted with a
manual gearbox, the gear lever must
be in the neutral position.
Failure to observe this special con-
dition may result in damage to cer-
tain braking components and the
absence of braking assistance the
next time the engine is started.
When fi tting transverse roof bars,
use the accessories recommended
by CITROËN and follow the manu-
facturer's fi tting instructions.
For more information, contact a
CITROËN dealer or a qualifi ed work-
shop.

Maximum weight authorised on
the bars, for a loading height not
exceeding 40 cm (except bicycle
carrier): 50 kg.

If the height exceeds 40 cm, adapt
the speed of the vehicle to the pro-
fi le of the road to avoid damaging
the roof bars.
General
recommendations
Observe the legislation in
force in your country.
Ensure that the weight of the towing
vehicle is higher than that of the towed
vehicle.
The driver must stay at the wheel of
the towed vehicle.
Driving on motorways and fast roads
is prohibited when towing.
When towing a vehicle with all four
wheels on the ground, always use an
approved towing bar; rope and straps
are prohibited.
When towing a vehicle with the en-
gine off, there is no longer any power
assistance for braking or steering.
In the following cases, you must al-
ways call on a professional recovery
service:
- vehicle broken down on a motorway or fast road,
- when it is not possible to put the gearbox into neutral, unlock the
steering, or release the parking
brake,
- towing with only two wheels on the ground,
- where there is no approved towing bar available...
