Warning lamps
When the engine is running or the ve-
hicle is being driven, the switching on
of one of the following warning lamps
indicates a fault which requires action
on the part of the driver. Any fault resulting in the switching on of a warni
ng lamp must be investigated
further by reading the associated message on the mu ltifunction screen.
If you encounter any problems, do not hesitate to contact a CITROËN dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
STOP
fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
with another warning
lamp and
accompanied by
an audible signal.
It is associated with the
braking system or the
engine coolant temperature. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and call a CITROËN
dealer.
Service temporarily.
A minor fault has occurred
for which there is no
s p e c i fi c w a r n i n g l a m p . Identify the fault by reading the message shown
on the screen, such as, for example:
- the engine oil level,
- the screenwash level,
- the remote control battery,
- s a t u r a t i o n o f t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r ( D i e
s e l ) .
For any other faults, contact a CITROËN dealer.

Braking System (ABS) fi x e d .
The anti-lock braking
system has a fault. The vehicle retains conventional braking without
servo assistance.
Drive carefully at reduced speed and contact a
CITROËN dealer without delay.
Dynamic
stability control
(ESP/ASR) fl a s h i n g .
The ESP/ASR regulation is
active. The system optimises traction and improves the
directional stability of the vehicle.
fi x e d . Unless it has been
deactivated with the indicator
lamp on the button on, the
ESP/ASR system is faulty. Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Engine
autodiagnosis system fi x e d .
The emission control
system has a fault.
This lamp should switch off when the engine is star
ted.
If it does not switch off, contact a CITROËN
dealer urgently.
fl a s h i n g . The engine management
system has a fault. Risk of destruction of the catalytic convertor.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.
Low fuel level fi x e d w i t h
the last two segement bocks
fl a s h i n g . W h e n i t fi r s t c o m e s o n t h e r e
remains
approximately
5 litres of fuel in the tank. Refuel as soon as possible to avoid running out
of fuel.
This warning lamp wil come on every time the
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , u n t i l a s u f fi c i e n t a d d i t i o n
of fuel is made.
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 50 litres
(petrol) or 45 litres (Diesel).
Never continue to drive until you run out of fuel,
this could damage the emission control and
injection systems.

TRIP COMPUTER
System which provides current infor-
mation concerning the route travelled
(range, consumption…).

Press the button, located at the end
of the wiper
stalk , to display the
various trip computer tabs in suc-
cession:
When the route required is dis-
played, press the control for more
than two seconds.
Trips "1" and "2" are independent but
their use is identical.
Trip "1" permits, for example, daily calcu-
lations, and trip "2" monthly calculations.

ACCESS If the alarm is triggered ten times
in succession, the eleventh time
will result in it becoming inac-
tive.
If the indicator lamp on button A
fl a s h e s r a p i d l y , t h i s i n d i c a t e s
that the alarm was triggered du-
ring your absence. When the
i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d o n , t h i s fl a s h -
ing stops immediately.
To avoid triggering the alarm
when washing your vehicle, lock
it using the key in the driver’s
door lock.
Do not activate the alarm before
disconnecting the battery, other-
wise the siren will sound.
Triggering
This is indicated by sounding of the si-
r e n a n d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n i n d i c a -
tors for approximately thirty seconds.
After it has been triggered, the alarm is
again operational.
Failure of the remote control
Unlock the vehicle using the key in
the driver’s door lock.
Open the door; the alarm is trig-
gered.
Switch on the ignition; the alarm
stops.
Locking the vehicle without
activating the alarm
Lock or deadlock the vehicle using
the key in the driver’s door lock.

Malfunction
When the ignition is switched on, ligh-
ting of the indicator lamp on button
A for ten seconds indicates a siren fault.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer. Automatic operation *
Depending on the legislation in force in
your country, one of these cases may
occur:
- 45 seconds after the vehicle is
locked using the remote control, the
alarm is activated, regardless of the
status of the doors and boot.
- 2 minutes after the last door or the boot is closed, the alarm is activated.
To avoid triggering the alarm on en-
t e r i n g t h e v e h i c l e , fi r s t p r e s s t h e u n -
locking button on the remote control.

Anti-lock braking system
and electronic brake force
distribution

s l i p p e r y s u r f a c e s .
Activation
The anti-lock braking system comes
i n t o o p e r a t i o n a u t o m a t i c a l l y w h e n t h e r e
is a risk of wheel lock.
N o r m a l o p e r a t i o n o f t h e A B S m a y m a k e
itself felt by slight vibration of the brake
p e d a l .
When braking in an emergency,
p r e s s v e r y fi r m l y w i t h o u t r e l e a s -
i n g t h e p r e s s u r e . Operating fault
In either case, contact a CITROËN dealer.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n ,
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g -
nal and a message on the mul-
tifunction screen, it indicates a
malfunction of the anti-lock braking sys-
tem which could result in loss of control
of the vehicle when braking.
I f t h i s w a r n i n g l a m p c o m e s o n ,
together with the STOP and
ABS w a r n i n g l a m p s , a c c o m p a -
nied by an audible signal and a
message on the multifunction screen, it
indicates a malfunction of the electron-
ic brake force distribution which could
result in loss of control of the vehicle
when braking.
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
W h e n r e p l a c i n g w h e e l s ( t y r e s
and rims), ensure that they
conform to the manufacturer's
recommendations. Emergency braking assistance
System which, in an emergency, ena-
b l e s y o u t o o b t a i n t h e o p t i m u m b r a k i n g
p r e s s u r e m o r e q u i c k l y , t h u s r e d u c i n g
t h e s t o p p i n g d i s t a n c e .
Activation
I t i s t r i g g e r e d b y t h e s p e e d a t w h i c h t h e
b r a k e p e d a l i s p r e s s e d .
The effect of this is a reduction in the
r e s i s t a n c e o f t h e p e d a l a n d a n i n c r e a s e
i n b r a k i n g e f fi c i e n c y .
When braking in an emergency,
p r e s s fi r m l y w i t h o u t r e l e a s i n g
t h e p r e s s u r e .

Changing direction indicator bulbs
Turn the bulb holder a quarter of a
turn and extract it.
Pull out the bulb and change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g , c l o s e t h e p r o t e c -
tive cover carefully to preserve
the sealing of the headlamp.
R a p i d fl a s h i n g o f t h e d i r e c t i o n
indicator warning lamp (right
o r l e f t ) i n d i c a t e s t h e f a i l u r e o f a
bulb on that side.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as
the direction indicators, must be
replaced with bulbs of identical
s p e c i fi c a t i o n s a n d c o l o u r .
Changing dipped beam headlamp
bulbs
Remove the protective cover by
pulling on the tab.
Disconnect the bulb connector.
Compress the springs to release the
bulb.
Extract the bulb and change it.

Changing main beam headlamp
bulbs
Remove the protective cover by
pulling on the tab.
Disconnect the bulb connector.
Spread the springs to release the
bulb.
Remove the bulb and change it.

verse order.
Changing sidelamp bulbs
Remove the protective cover by
pulling on the tab.
Pull the bulb holder pressing on the
tabs on both sides.
Pull the bulb and change it.

Rear lamps
1. Brake/sidelamps (P21/5W).

Reversing lamp right-hand side
(P21W). These four bulbs are changed from inside
t h e b o o t :
open the boot,
r e m o v e t h e a c c e s s fl a p f r o m t h e
corresponding side trim panel,
u n s c r e w t h e b u t t e r fl y n u t s e c u r i n g
the lamp unit,
unclip the lamp unit connector,
extract the lamp unit carefully pulling
in its middle towards the outside,
spread the four tabs and remove the
bulb holder,
turn the bulb a quarter of a turn and
change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
Take care to engage the lamp unit in its
guides, while keeping it in line with the
vehicle.
Changing bulbs
Amber or red bulbs, such as
those for the direction indica-
tors and rear foglamp, must be
replaced by bulbs of the same
rating and colour.
The lamps on the tailgate are
dummy units. They are there for
aesthetic purposes only.

Engine compartment fusebox
The fusebox is placed in the engine
compartment near the battery (left-hand
s i d e ) .
Access to the fuses
Unclip the cover.
Change the fuse (see correspond-
i n g p a r a g r a p h ) .

cover carefully to ensure the sealing
