Front passenger's airbag
1. Open the glove box.
2. Insert the key.
3. Select position:
"ON" (activation), with front passenger
or "forwards facing" child seat,
"OFF" (deactivation), with "rear facing"
child seat".
4. Remove the key keeping the switch
in this position.

coolant

The temperature of the
cooling system is too high. Stop as soon as it is safe to do so.
Wait until the engine has cooled down before
topping up the level, if necessary.
If the problem persists, contact a CITROËN
dealer.
Engine oil
pressure fi x e d . There is a fault with the
engine lubrication system. Stop as soon it is safe to do so.
Park, switch off the ignition and contact a
CITROËN dealer.
Battery
charge fi x e d . The battery charging circuit
has a fault (dirty or loose
terminals, slack or cut
alternator belt, ...). This lamp should switch off when the engine is
started.
If it does not switch off, contact a CITROËN
dealer.
Door(s) open fi x e d i f t h e
speed is
below 6 mph (10 km/h).
A door or the boot is still
open. Close the door or boot.

This lamp comes on for
a few seconds when you
turn on the ignition, then
switches off. This lamp should switch off when the engine is
started.
If it does not switch off, contact a CITROËN
dealer.

Contact a CITROËN dealer without delay.

steering fi x e d . The power steering has a
fault. Drive carefully at reducd speed.
Have it checked by a CITROËN dealer.

service warning lamp. This indicates that the
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r
is starting to become
saturated. As soon as driving conditions allow, regenerate th
e
fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a s p e e d o f a t l e a s t 3 5 m p h
(60 km/h) until the service warning lamp switches o ff.

level for the Diesel fuel

REAR SEATS
B e n c h s e a t w i t h fi x e d o n e - p i e c e c u s h -
ion and split backrest (left hand 2/3,
right hand 1/3) which can be folded in-
dividually to adapt the load space in the
boot.
Rear head restraints
These have a high position (comfort)
and a low position (rear visibility). Folding the backrest
Move the corresponding front seat
forward if necessary.
Check that the seat belt is positioned
correctly on the side of the seat back.
Place the head restraints in the low
position.
Repositioning the seat backrest
When repositioning the rear seat back-
rest:
Straighten the seat back 2 and se-
cure it.
Check that the red indicator, located next
to the control 1 , is no longer visisble.
They can also be removed.
To remove a head restraint:
release the backrest using control 1 ,
tilt the backrest 2 slightly forwards,
pull the head restraint upwards to
the stop,
then, press the lug A .
When repositioning the seat
backrest, take care not to trap
the seat belts.
Never drive with the head re-
straints removed; they must be
in place and correctly adjusted.
Pull control 1 forwards to release
the seat back 2 .
Fold the seat back 2 on to the cushion.

CITROËN recommends that
children should travel in the rear
seats of your vehicle:
- "rearwards-facing" up to the
age of 2,
- "forwards-facing" over the
age of 2. * The rules for transporting children are
s p e c i fi c t o e a c h c o u n t r y . R e f e r t o t h e
current legislation in your country.
GENERAL POINTS RELATING
TO CHILD SEATS
A l t h o u g h o n e o f C I T R O Ë N ' s m a i n c r i -
teria when designing your vehicle, the
safety of your children also depends on
you.
F o r m a x i m u m s a f e t y , p l e a s e f o l l o w
these precautions:
- in accordance with European reg- ulations, all children under the
age of 12 or less than one and a
half metres tall must travel in ap-
proved child seats suited to their
weight , o n s e a t s fi t t e d w i t h a s e a t
b e l t o r I S O F I X m o u n t i n g s * ,
- statistically, the safest seats in
your vehicle for the transportation
of children are the rear seats,
- a child weighing less than 9 kg
must travel in the "rearwards-fac-
ing" position both in the front and

When a "rearwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the
front passenger seat ,
it is essential that the passenger airbag
i s d e a c t i v a t e d . O t h e r w i s e , the child
would risk being seriously injured or
k i l l e d i f t h e a i r b a g w e r e t o i n fl a t e . "Forwards-facing"
When a "forwards-facing" child seat is
installed on the
front passenger seat ,
a d j u s t t h e v e h i c l e ' s s e a t t o t h e i n t e r m e -
diate longitudinal position with the seat
back upright and leave the passenger
airbag activated.

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
The incorrect installation of a child
s e a t i n a v e h i c l e c o m p r o m i s e s t h e
c h i l d ' s p r o t e c t i o n i n t h e e v e n t o f a n
accident.
R e m e m b e r t o f a s t e n t h e s e a t b e l t s o r
the child seat harnesses keeping the
s l a c k r e l a t i v e t o t h e c h i l d ' s b o d y t o a
m i n i m u m , e v e n f o r s h o r t j o u r n e y s .
When installing a child seat using the
seat belt, ensure that the seat belt is
tightened correctly on the child seat
a n d t h a t i t s e c u r e s t h e c h i l d s e a t fi r m l y
on the seat of your vehicle.
F o r o p t i m u m i n s t a l l a t i o n o f t h e " f o r -
wards-facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
w i t h t h e b a c k o f t h e v e h i c l e ' s s e a t
and that the head restraint does not
c a u s e a n y d i s c o m f o r t .
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e m o v e d ,
ensure that it is stored or attached se-
c u r e l y t o p r e v e n t i t f r o m b e i n g t h r o w n
around the vehicle in the event of
sharp braking. As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- o n e o r m o r e c h i l d r e n a l o n e a n d
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a c h i l d o r a n a n i m a l i n a v e h i c l e w h i c h i s e x p o s e d t o t h e s u n , w i t h
the windows closed,
- the keys within reach of children inside the vehicle.
To prevent accidental opening of the
doors and rear windows, use the
"Child lock".
Take care not to open the rear windows
b y m o r e t h a n o n e t h i r d .
T o p r o t e c t y o u n g c h i l d r e n f r o m t h e
r a y s o f t h e s u n , fi t s i d e b l i n d s o n t h e
rear windows.
C h i l d r e n u n d e r t h e a g e o f 1 0 m u s t
not travel in the "forwards-facing"
position on the front passenger seat,
unless the rear seats are already oc-
cupied by other children, cannot be
used or are absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag
when a "rearwards-facing" child seat
is installed on the front seat.
O t h e r w i s e , t h e c h i l d w o u l d r i s k b e i n g
seriously injured or killed if the airbag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e .
Installing a booster seat
T h e c h e s t p a r t o f t h e s e a t b e l t m u s t
b e p o s i t i o n e d o n t h e c h i l d ' s s h o u l d e r
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
b e l t p a s s e s c o r r e c t l y o v e r t h e c h i l d ' s
thighs.

with a seat belt guide at shoulder level.
