70 Handbrake
The parking brake is applied, with the vehicle stationary, b
y pulling on the
lever with a force that is proportionate to the steepness of the slope.
To facilitate the action on the lever, you are recommended t o press the
brake pedal at the same time.
In all circumstances, as a precautionary measure, engage first gear. F or
vehicles equipped with an automatic gearbox, ensure that the parking
position ( P) is selected.
On steep slopes, turn the steering towards the kerb.
To release the handbrake, press on the end of the lever, pu ll the lever up
then lower it fully.
The warning lamp will come on if the handbrake is on or not fully released.
If the parking brake is off, the lighting of this warning lamp, in conjunction with the sTOp
warning lamp, indicates that the brake fluid level is low or t hat the braking distributor is
malfunctioning.
It is essential to stop the vehicle.

Repeating the last piece of voice infor-mationa few seconds after enunciation of a guid-ance voice instruction, you have the pos-sibility of hearing it again.Keep the end of the lighting control stalk pressed.
How to adjust the volume for the voice instructions ?While a voice instruction is being spoken, press on the volume adjustment but ton c ontrols either on the system or on the steering wheel.Adjustment is also possible in the “Confi gu-ration” menu.

to move the pointer on the map.

CONSULTING OF MESSAGES
The fi lters enable you to select the types of information which you wish to receive.This menu gives you access:To the geographical fi lter: information concerning incidents situated around your vehicle, around a given location and/or on an itinerary (radius of 3 to 200 km),To road information: information con-cerning road incidents such as traf fi c, road closures, height /width limitations, state of the roadway or weather condi-t i o n s (d e p e n d i n g o n t h e i n f o r m a t i o n available).To urban traffi c information: information concerning the town where you are, such as parking, public transport and demon-strations (depending on the information available).The fi lters can be cumulative.If no fi lter is selected, all the TMC information will be displayed.
