Electronic parking brake
This device combines :
- automatic functions :
Automatic application when the engine stops and automatic re-lease on use of the accelerator (automatic operation by default) ;
- manual use :
Permanent manual application / release of parking brake is pos-sible by pulling control A.
Navidrive Multifunction display
Before leaving the vehicle, check that the electronic parking brake warning lamp P (red) is perma-nently on.If you leave the vehicle with the engine running, manually apply the parking brake.Never leave a child alone inside the vehicle with the ignition on, as they could release the park-ing brake.
Parking space sensor
You can select the “parking space sen-sor” function by pressing on button A. Once the space has been measured, the function displays the following messages :

To aid starting on a gradient, your v e h i c l e i s e q u i p p e d w i t h a s y s t e m which keeps it immobilised for about 2 seconds, the approximate time it takes to move your foot from the brake pedal to the accel-erator pedal.

-The selector position is displayed in the instrument panel, on the left on multifunction screens A and C and on the right on multifunction screen DT.
-A background-litposition grille associated with the selector allows you to view the position selected.

1. To start the engine, the selec-tor has to be in position N.
2. P r e s s fi r m l y o n t h e b r a k e p e d a l.
3. Action the starter.
4. When the engine is running, place the selector on R, A or M as desired.
5. Check, in the instrument pan-el, the position engaged.
6. Release the brake pedal and accelerate.
Note : If the selector is not in po-sition N , a n d / o r i f t h e b r a k e p e d a l is not pressed, the correspond- i n g w a r n i n g l a m p ( s ) d i s p l a y a n d a message informs you that at least one of these two conditions is not met.
In this case, the engine will not start, recommence the above pro-cedure.

To change to automatic mode, move the selector to A.

Manual mode activates when you move the selector to M.- Pull the lever “ + ” to change up a gear.- Pull the lever “ - ” to change down a gear.
When the engine is running, be-fore accelerating to move the ve-hicle, make sure that the position engaged on the selector grille or in the instrument panel is either : R, A or AM.Do not leave the vehicle with the engine running in R, A or AM.
If the vehicle is moving rapidly, if an inadvertent attempt to engage reverse gear is made, the warning lamp N w i l l fl a s h a n d y o u r v e h i c l e will go automatically into neutral. To re-engage a gear, you have only to reposition the selector on A, Mor R.

To select automatic d r i v i n g m o d e :
- Move the selector to position A. The warning lamp A lights up in t h e i n s t r u m e n t p a n e l t o c o n fi r m the selection.
The gearbox then functions in au-tomatic mode, without any inter-vention on your part.
It constantly selects the gear that is best suited to the following pa-rameters :
- driving style,
- r o a d p r o fi l e ,
- optimum fuel consumption.
Temporary manual operation when in automatic mode
- By pulling either of the levers “+” or “-”, you can exercise tempo-rary control over the changing of gears. The request to change gear will be taken into account. Y o u w i l l s t i l l b e i n a u t o m a t i c mode. The warning lamp A re-mains lit up in the instrument panel.
- This function enables you to an-ticipate certain situations such as the approach of a bend or the need to overtake another vehi-cle.

Cancellation of automatic mode
The change from position A ( d r i v -ing in automatic mode) to position M ( d r i v i n g i n m a n u a l m o d e ) o r v i c e versa can be made at any time. The warning lamp A disappears in the instrument panel.

Do not use the accelerator to hold your vehicle on a gradient. Use either the brake pedal or the electric parking brake.
Before taking any action in the engine compartment, check that the selector is in neutral N.

In the event of a prolonged stop with the engine running, the gearbox changes automatically to neutral N.
S t o p p i n g t h e e n g i n e
Before stopping the engine, you can choose :
- to leave the vehicle in neutral : move the selector to posi tion N.
- t o l e a v e t h e v e h i c l e w i t h a g e a r e n g a g e d (R, A or M) : Place the selector in the chosen position prior to stopping the engine. In this case, the vehicle cannot be moved.
In all cases, it is essential to apply the parking brake. Check that the parking brake warning lamp is lit up in the instrument panel.

Selector position
The position of the selector is displayed in the instrument panel, on the left on multifunction screens A and C, on the right on multifunction screen DT.
A position grille relating to the selector allows you to vie w the position that is selected.

Park
Never select positions P or R if the vehicle is not stationary.
If, while the vehicle is moving, position N is engaged inadvertently, allow the engine to idle before engaging position D or M.
U s i n g t h e a u t o m a t i c g e a r b o x
This position of the selector is used to prevent the vehicle from moving when you are stationary.
- To select position P, move the selector back to the highest po- s i t i o n ( t o w a r d s R), then push it forwards and then to the left.
R e v e r s e g e a r
Neutral
S t a r t i n g t h e e n g i n e
1. To start the engine, the selector has to be in position P or N.
2. Action the starter.
3. When the engine is running, place the selector on R, D or M as required.
4. Check, in the instrument panel, the position engaged.
5. Release the brake pedal and accelerate.
Note :
- If the selector is not in position P, a message “place automatic gear-box in position P ” appears on the multifunction screen, accompa- n i e d b y a b e e p a n d t h e fl a s h i n g o f P in the instrument panel.
A U T O M A T I C G E A R B O XG E N E R A L
- To avoid incoherence between the position of the selector and the actual position of the gear-box, always exit from position Pwhen you switch on the ignition and press the brake pedal.
Otherwise, when the ignition is on or the engine is running :
1. Reposition the selector in position P,
2. Put your foot on the brake pedal and then select the gear you want.
- To exit position P, move the se-lector to the right and then to the position you want.
- Only engage this position when the vehicle is completely sta-tionary. In this position, the front wheels are locked. Make sure that the selector is correctly po-sitioned.
Only engage this position when the vehicle is stationary. To pre-vent snatching, do not accelerate too soon after selection.
Never select position N if the vehi-cle is moving.
