Manual gearbox
1.Check that you are in neutral.
2. Do not touch the accelerator.
3. For Diesel engines : turn the key as far as position M. Wait for the preheater warning lamp to go off if this has come on.
4. Action the starter by turning the key until the engine starts (not more than ten seconds).
5. In ambient temperatures low-er than 0°C, declutch during the action on the starter to fa-cilitate starting. Then remove your foot slowly from the clutch pedal.
NEVER RUN THE ENGINE IN A SPACE THAT IS ENCLOSED OR INSUFFICIENTLY VENTILATED.
Electronic Gearbox System (6-speed)
1.Check that you are in position N.
2.Press fi rmly on the brake pedal.
3. Do not touch the accelerator. 4.For Diesel engines : turn the key as far as position M. Wait for the preheater warning lamp to go off if this has come on.
5. Action the starter by turning the key until the engine starts (not more than ten seconds).
Note : After the vehicle has had a prolonged stop or if the brake ped-al has been applied several times when stationary, it is necessary to press the brake pedal fully down in order to authorise starting of the engine.
Advice
Vehicles equipped with a turbocharger
Never stop the engine without having allowed it to run for a few seconds at idle, this being the time required for t he turbocharger to return to a normal speed.
"Flicking the accelerator" at the moment of switching off the i gnition could cause serious damage.
Note : If the engine fails to start at the fi rst attempt, switch off the ignition. Wait ten seconds, then action the starte r again as indicated above.
Automatic gearbox
1. Check that you are in position P or N.
2. Do not touch the accelerator.
3. For Dieselengines: turn the key as far as position M. Wait for the preheater warning lamp to go off if this has come on.
4. Action the starter by turning the key until the engine starts (not more than ten seconds).
Note : To exit from position P, press on the brake pedal before moving the selector.

The electronic parking brake com-bines 2 operational modes :
- AUTOMATIC :
Automatic application when the engine stops and automatic re-lease on use of the accelerator (automatic operation by default),
- MANUAL :
Permanent manual application / release of the parking brake is possible by pulling control A.
AUTOMATIC OPERATION
To start the vehicle
The electronic parking brake re-leases automatically and pro-gressively when you press the accelerator :
- with a manual gearbox (manual gearboxmanual gearboxfi rst gear or reverse gear engaged), press down fully on the clutch pedal then press on the accelera-tor pedal and move off.- with an automatic gearbox, ac-celerate with the selector in posi-tion D, M or R.- with an electronic gearbox, ac-celerate with the selector in posi-tion A, M or R.
To immobilise the vehicle
Immobilisation, engine off
With the vehicle stationary, the park-ing brake is automatically applied when the engine is switched off.

Full release of the parking brake is confi rmed by :
- the extinction of warning lamp Pon control A and on the instru-ment panel,
- the display of a message “park-ing brake released” on the multi-function display.
Before leaving the vehi-cle, check that warning lamp P on the instrument panel is permanently lit.
Never leave a child alone inside the vehicle with the ignition on, as they could release the park-ing brake.
The application of the park-ing brake is confi rmed by :
- the lighting of warning lamp P on control A and on the instrument panel,
- the display of a message “park-ing brake applied” on the multi-function display (except DT).
Note: an operation sound will confi rm to you the application/re-lease of your electronic parking brake.

Stopping the function
- by an action on the control on position "REG" to position 0.
- by the engine stopping.
The cruise speed previously cho-sen is no longer memorised.
If there is a malfunction,a mes-sage will display accompanied by a sound signal and lighting of the SERVICE warning lamp.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.
Cruise control should only be used when the driving conditions allow you to drive at a constant speed.
Do not use it in heavy traffi c, or on dangerous or slippery roads.
The driver must remain attentive and in full control of his vehicle.
You are recommended to keep your feet within range of the pe dals.
To avoid any risk of interfering with the pedals :
- check that the fl oor mat is correctly positioned,
- never use more than one fl oor mat.
Re-engaging cruise control
-by recall of the memorised speed :
After a disengagement, press on button 3. Your vehicle automati-cally returns to the memorised cruise speed which is displayed in zone A.
If the memorised cruise speed is higher than the current speed, the vehicle wll accelerate to reach the former.
- by selection of the current speed :
Press on button 2 or 4 once the desired speed has been reached.The information "OFF" will thendisappear from zone A.
Observation : If during the opera-tion of cruise control, the system is unable to keep within the memo-rised speed (for example on a steep descent), then the speed fl ashes. Adapt your speed as necessary.
Disengaging of cruise control while retaining the memorised speed
- Either by pressing on the brake pedal or on the clutch pedal.
- Or by pressing button 3.
- Or if either the ESP or the ASR system is active.
Note : cruise control is not active if the gear lever is in neutral.
These actions cause the informa-tion "OFF" to appear in zone A of the instrument panel.
These manœuvres do not cancel the cruise speed which remains displayed in the instrument panel.
