Central locking with the key
Turn the key briefl y in the door lock. The vehicle is locked.
Deadlocking : Central locking with the key
Turn the key a second time in the door lock. The vehicle is dead-locked. It is then impossible to open the doors from the inside or from the outside.
A long action with the key closes the windows.
Note : With thevehicle stationary and the engine switched off, lock-ing is signalled by the fl ashing of the warning lamp on the interior locking control.
If any of the doors, or the boot, is open or not properly closed, a re-bound sound signals to you that it is impossible to lock the vehicle.
K E Y S
All the vehicle keys contain an electronic immobiliser device.
After you switch on the ignition, a dialogue is established between the ignition key and the electronic im-mobiliser device.
If the key is not recognised, starting is impossible.
If this happens, leave your ve-hicle immobilised and contact a CITROËN dealer.

Note : After the vehicle has had a prolonged stop or if the brake ped-al has been applied several times when stationary, it is necessary to press the brake pedal fully down in order to authorise starting of the engine.
Advice
Vehicles equipped with a turbocharger
Never stop the engine without having allowed it to run for a few seconds at idle, this being the time required for t he turbocharger to return to a normal speed.
"Flicking the accelerator" at the moment of switching off the i gnition could cause serious damage.
Note : If the engine fails to start at the fi rst attempt, switch off the ignition. Wait ten seconds, then action the starte r again as indicated above.
Automatic gearbox
1. Check that you are in position P or N.
2. Do not touch the accelerator.
3. For Dieselengines: turn the key as far as position M. Wait for the preheater warning lamp to go off if this has come on.
