MAINTENANCE INDICATOR
It tells you when the next service is due , i n c o n f o r m i t y w i t h t h e m a i n t e n a n c e s c h e d u l e i n t h e M a i n t e n a n c e g u i d e .
T h i s i n f o r m a t i o n i s c a l c u l a t e d a s a f u n c t i o n o f t w o p a r a m e t e r s : the mileage covered , and the time elapsed since
the last service.
Functioning
F r o m s w i t c h i n g o n t h e i g n i t i o n a n d
f o r a f e w s e c o n d s , t h e spanner
symbol for maintenance lights
up ; the instrument panel tells you
h o w m a n y m i l e s r e m a i n b e f o r e t h e
next service.
For example: you have the
f o l l o w i n g d i s t a n c e l e f t t o t r a v e l
before the next service:
Functioning if the distance to the
next service is less than 1 000 km
(approx. 600 miles)
E a c h t i m e t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d
o n , a n d f o r i v e s e c o n d s , t h e m a i n -
t e n a n c e s y m b o l a n d t h e m i l e a g e w i l l
l a s h .
Example: before the next service
there remain: 500 km (approx.
3 0 0 m i l e s ) . W h e n y o u s w i t c h o n t h e
ignition and for 5 seconds after that,
the instrument panel indicates: Functioning if the service
interval is exceeded
E a c h t i m e t h e i g n i t i o n i s s w i t c h e d
on, the maintenance symbol and
t h e e x t r a m i l e a g e t r a v e l l e d ( w i t h a
m i n u s i n f r o n t ) w i l l l a s h .
For example:
the preset service
distance has been exceeded by
300 km (approx. 10 miles). Your
vehicle must be serviced as soon
as possible.
A f e w s e c o n d s a f t e r t h a t , t h e e n g i n e
oil level indicator is displayed, then
the total mileage recorder resumes
its normal role. The instrument
p a n e l s h o w s y o u t h e t o t a l a n d t r i p
mileage counters. A f e w s e c o n d s a f t e r t h a t , t h e e n
-
gine oil level indicator is displayed,
then the total mileage recorder
resumes its normal role and the
maintenance symbol remains lit
up.
It informs you that a service is
imminently due. The instrument
panel gives you the total and trip
mileages. A f e w s e c o n d s a f t e r y o u h a v e
s w i t c h e d o n t h e i g n i t i o n , t h e
total mileage recorder returns
to its normal operation and
the
maintenance symbol remains
illuminated.

Imperative stop
warning lamp
W h e n t h e w a r n i n g
lamp comes on, it is
imperative to stop the vehicle and
s w i t c h o f f t h e e n g i n e .
This lamp is accompanied by a
STOP symbol on the display.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.
SERVICE warning lamp
T h i s w a r n i n g l a m p r e m a i n s
on for as long as the fault
a s s o c i a t e d w i t h t h e a l e r t
message is present (this in the
case of a serious fault).
Contact a CITROËN dealer as
soon as possible
The lamp stays on only for a short
time for a minor fault.
Contact a CITROËN dealer.

message, see “Log of alerts”.
Battery charge
S h o u l d n o t b e l i t w h e n
the engine is running. If it
lights permanently, contact
a CITROËN dealer. Engine oil pressure and
temperature warning
lamp
I f i t l i g h t s w h i l e y o u a r e
driving, stop the engine, check the
level, (see Chapter IV - “Levels”).
If it remains lit despite the level
being correct, contact a CITROËN
dealer. Driver’s and/or
passenger’s seat belt
not fastened warning
lamp
Comes on if the driver’s and/
or passenger’s seat belt is not
fastened.
T h e l i g h t i n g o f t h e w a r n i n g l a m p
is accompanied by a sound
signal and a message for about
9 0 s e c o n d s w h e n t h e v e h i c l e
exceeds a speed of 25 km/h
(approx. 15 mph).
Warning lamp for
handbrake, brake
l u i d l e v e l a n d b r a k i n g
distribution fault.
When the engine is running, this
w a r n i n g l a m p i n d i c a t e s t h a t t h e
handbrake is applied or incom-
pletely released, that the brake
l u i d l e v e l i s i n s u f i c i e n t , o r t h a t t h e
braking system is malfunctioning.
I f t h e w a r n i n g l a m p r e m a i n s l i t
w h e n t h e h a n d b r a k e i s r e l e a s e d ,
stop immediately and contact a
CITROËN dealer. Airbags warning lamp
I t c o m e s o n f o r a f e w
seconds every time you
s w i t c h o n t h e i g n i t i o n .
Airbags malfunction
Flashing indicates that the airbags
are malfunctioning.
Contact a CITROËN dealer as
soon as possible.
Passenger’s airbag
deactivation
If the passenger’s airbag
i s d e a c t i v a t e d , t h e w a r n i n g
lamp remains on.

Automatic lighting of headlamps
Sidelamps and dipped beams come on automatically in conditions of poor
a m b i e n t l i g h t o r w h e n t h e w i p e r s a r e i n c o n t i n u o u s o p e r a t i o n .
T h e y g o o u t a s s o o n a s l i g h t i s s u f i c i e n t a g a i n o r a f t e r t h e w i p e r s h a v e
stopped.
An activation/deactivation of this function is possible in th e menu “Person-
a l i s a t i o n - C o n i g u r a t i o n ” o f t h e “ M a i n M e n u ” .
