Note : The simultaneous use of
other high frequency equipment
(mobile telephones, domestic
alarms...) may momentarily hinder
the operation of the remote con-
trol.
In the event of a permanent fault,
the remote control should be
reinitialised. See “Changing the
remote control battery”.
Locating of the vehicle
To locate the vehicle on a carpark,
press button A, the interior
lamps come on and the direction
indicators lash for a few seconds.
The vehicle remains locked.
When operating the windows and sun roofs by means of
the remote control, the user must make sure that nobody is
obstructing the windows or sun roofs from closing proper ly.
It is dangerous to operate the deadlocking when a perso n is in
the vehicle as unlocking is impossible from the inside (without
the remote control).
Central unlocking
A short press on button
B unlocks your vehicle.
This operation is conirmed by rapid lashing of the direction ind icators and
lighting of the interior lamp (if the function is activated ). This also deploys
the exterior rear view mirrors.
Central locking - Closing of windows and sliding of sun roofs -
Deadlocking
- A short press on button A locks your vehicle.
- A long press on button A locks your vehicle, closes the windows and
slides the sun roofs. The sun roofs stop in the partially open position. To
close completely, use the interior sunroof control (see page 105 ).
This operation is conirmed by the direction indicators illuminati ng for
approx. two seconds and by the interior lamp switching off. Th e exterior
rear view mirrors will also fold back.
If any of the doors or the boot is open or not properly closed , the central
locking does not operate.
For vehicles equipped with deadlocking, two successive presses on
button A have the effect of deadlocking the vehicle. It is then imp ossible to
open the doors, either from the inside or the outside.

Opening/closing of the electric
sliding side doors
A long press on one of the C
controls ( C1 for right hand door,
C2 for left hand door) opens or
closes the corresponding electric
sliding door.
Note: if the vehicle is locked, a
long press on one of the C controls
unlocks the vehicle and opens
the corresponding electric sliding
door.
Folding and ejection of the key
Button D is for folding and ejecting
the key from its housing in the
remote control.
If you do not press on button D, you
could damage the mechanism. Except when reinitialising, the remote control cannot functi
on
while the key is in the ignition, even when switched off.
Warning: By inadvertently actioning the remote control, wh en for
example it is in your pocket, you can unlock the vehic le without
your realising it.
However, if none of the doors are opened within thirty se conds
following an unlocking, the doors will automatically re lock.
Warning: There is a risk of damage if the replacement ba ttery is
not the correct one.
Only use batteries that are identical or equivalent to thos e
approved by CITROËN.
HF remote control battery discharged
This information is given by a message on the MULTIFUNCTION D
ISPLAY,
accompanied by a sound signal and by lighting of the SERVICE w arning
lamp.
Changing the remote control battery
Detach the housing to access the battery.
Battery: CR 120: 3V.
Re-initialisation of the remote control
After a change of battery, the remote control has to be re-ini tialised. To
do this, switch on the ignition and immediately press button A on your
remote control until it operates the action required. This can take some ten
seconds.
Note: Make a careful note of the numbers for the keys and for the remo te
control on the ASSISTANCE card. Keep this in a safe place.
Do not throw away the old batteries. They should be retur ned to
the CITROËN dealer or deposited in a recognised recycl ing facility
(camera shops etc).

Electronic immobiliser key
The key operates all the vehicle’s
locks as well as the ignition.
Note: For safety reasons, a buzzer
will sound if you have switched
off the ignition and opened the
driver’s door without previously
removing the ignition key.
The key can be used to deactivate
the front passenger’s airbag (see
“Airbag”).
It is dangerous to operate the deadlocking when a perso n
is in the vehicle as unlocking is impossible from the inside
(without the remote control).
The key number is on the label attached to the key.
Should you lose your key or remote control, the CITROËN dealer
network can supply replacements.
Central locking using the key
A brief action with the key locks the vehicle.
Deadlocking: Central locking using the key
A second action straightaway with the key deadlocks the vehicle.
It is then
impossible to open the doors from either inside or outside the vehicle.
Note: With the vehicle stationary and the engine switched off, locking is
signalled by the lashing of the interior locking control warni ng lamp.
If any of the doors, or the boot, is open or not properly cl osed, central
locking does not operate.
Electronic immobiliser
The ELECTRONIC IMMOBILISER device locks the engine supply
system.
The system activates automatically as the key is removed from the
ignition.
All the vehicle’s keys contain an electronic immobiliser device.
After you switch on the ignition, a dialogue starts between the key and the
electronic immobiliser device.
If the key is not recognised, starting is not possible.
If this occurs, leave your vehicle immobilised and contact a CITRO ËN
dealer.

Operation of the alarm
First make sure that all the vehicle’s doors are
closed.
The alarm is armed by pressing button A on the remote
control.
When the alarm is armed, the protections become
active within 5 seconds (perimeter) and 45 seconds
(volumetric).
Provided the alarm is armed, any intrusion triggers the
siren for 30 seconds, accompanied by the illumination
of the direction indicators.
The alarm then reverts to armed status, but the
deployment remains memorised and is signalled by
the rapid lashing of the alarm warning lamp 2 when
you press the unlocking button B. The lashing stops
when you switch on the ignition.
The siren is also triggered if there is a cutting out of
the electrical supply. To stop it, restore the electrical
supply then press the unlocking button B.

To return them to the initial
position, press again towards the
rear on the control.
Automatic fold-back
Automatic folding of the door
mirrors is also operated by the
locking of the doors with the
remote control.
The opposite effect is obtained by
switching on the ignition, except if
folding back was requested before
the ignition was switched off.
Note: Automatic fold-back
of the rear view mirrors can
be deactivated. Consult your
CITROËN dealer.

ALWAYS PAY ATTENTION TO WHERE CHILDREN ARE WHEN OPENING OR CLOSING WINDOWS.
- Always remove the ignition key when leaving the vehicle, even for
short periods.
- If the driver is operating the passenger’s electric window con trol, the
driver should ensure that no passenger is obstructing the window from
closing.
- The driver should check that the electric windows are used prop erly by
the passengers.
- Should there be any risk of a person becoming trapped by a wi ndow
closing, you should immediately reverse the window movement. To d o
this, reverse the position of the control concerned.
Child safety precaution
The electrical security is operated
by pressing the control located on
the electric windows control panel.
This deactivates movement of the
rear electric windows, sliding side
doors and second and third row
sun roofs.
Doors can still be opened from the
outside and controlled electrically
from the front seat position.
Note:
the electric windows can
also be operated for a limited
time after the ignition has been
switched off (including after the
front doors have been opened).
Closing and opening of the win -
dows using the remote control :
see “Remote control”.
Security windows with
restricted opening
To open the quarter window, pull
the lever and push the glass.
To close, pull and press the lever
to lock it.

Electric sun roofs
There are three sun roofs, each with its own independent con
trol.
However, the two rear sun roofs can also be controlled from the front seat
positions.
• To tilt open: keep part A of the switch pressed down.
• To slide open: press briely on part A of the switch.
• To close: press briely on part B of the switch to engage the slide mode,
then press again and keep pressed to close the sun roof fully.
Deactivation of the controls for rows 2 and 3: See “Electric windows”.
Interior blinds
The rear blind can be positioned manually. Carefully lift the blind and then
pull.
Note: It is recommended not to open the sun roof immediately after rain or
having washed the vehicle. Anti-pinch
If the roof encounters an obstacle
while it is sliding to close, it stops
its movement and partially opens
again.
In the event of a malfunction or
if there is random opening of the
roof when you are trying to close
it (for example if there is ice) and
the roof refuses to close, press
button
A on the remote control un -
til the roof is fully open.
Then press immediately on but -
ton B on the remote control to clo-
se the roof.
If the roof does not close, release
the button and then press several
times until the roof is fully closed.
Release the button again then
press again on B, keeping it
pressed for more than ive se -
conds after closing.
Warning: during these actions the
anti-pinch function does not ope -
rate.
IMPORTANT
Fitting an “Accessory” sunroof is prohibited.
Your vehicle is equipped with lateral airbags (the Manufa cturer
reserves the right to modify the safety features on vehicles ).
- Take care that children are not in danger when moving the su
n roof.
- If the driver is actioning the sun roof control, he should ma ke certain
that the passengers are not obstructing the sun roof from closing
properly.
- The driver should make sure that the passenger uses the sun roof control correctly.
- Should there be any risk of a person becoming trapped during t he
movement of the sun roof, you should immediately reverse the roof
movement. To do this, reverse the position of the control conce rned.
- Always remove the ignition key when leaving the vehicle, even for

Access to the battery
The battery is located under the loor on the front right
hand side (see “Battery compartment fuses”).
Emergency starting with a slave battery
A vehicle with a discharged battery can be started
with either a slave battery or the battery of another
vehicle.
A Discharged battery
B Slave battery
C Earth point on broken down vehicle.
It is essential to proceed strictly following the sequence
indicated.
Check that the emergency battery is correctly charged
up (12 volts). If you are using the battery on another
vehicle, stop the engine of the assisting vehicle. The
two vehicles must not come into direct contact with
each other.
Connect the cables in the order indicated in the
diagram. Make sure that the clamps are properly
secured (risk of sparks).
Start the engine of the assisting vehicle. Let the engine
run for about a minute at a slightly accelerated speed.
Never apply a lame or create sparks close
to the battery (explosive gas). The battery contains diluted sulphuric acid which is highly corrosive.
If ever you are handling the battery, protect your eyes a nd face.
In the event of any contact with the skin, rinse
immediately with copious amounts of fresh water.
Advice
Replace it with a battery of the
same type (voltage, amp rating).
Do not touch the cable clamps
during the procedure.
Do not lean over the batteries.
Disconnect the cables in the
reverse order to connection,
ensuring that they do not touch
each other. Start the engine of the assisted vehicle.
Note:
For any repair necessitating a disconnection
of the battery, it is essential to wait three minutes
after switching off the ignition and to avoid any action
that could prevent the vehicle’s electrical circuit from
changing to standby mode (such as opening and
closing doors, using the remote control etc.).
