This indicates that the par ticleemissions filter is star ting to become saturated.
As soon as driving conditions allow, regenerate the filter by driving at a speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h)until the warning lamp goes off.

par ticle emissions filter additive level is too low. Thi
s indicates the low level of the additive reservoir.Have the reser voir topped up as soon as possible by a
CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Alarm * System which protects and provides a deterrent against theft and break-ins. It provides the following types of monitoring.


- exterior perimeter

The system checks for opening of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if anyone tries to open a
door, the boot, the bonnet...




- interior volumetric

The system checks for any variation in the
volume in the passenger compartment.
The alarm is triggered if anyone breaks a
window, enters the passenger compar tment or moves inside the vehicle.
Locking the vehicle with full
alarm system

- tilt

The system checks for any change in theattitude of the vehicle.
The alarm is triggered if the vehicle is lifted,moved or knocked.


Self-protection function

The system checks for the putting out of service of its components.
The alarm is triggered if the battery, the centralcontrol or the siren wiring are put out of service
or damaged.

For all work on the alarm system, contact a CITROËN dealer or aqualified workshop.
Activation
)Switch off the ignition and get out of the vehicle.)Press the locking button on the remote control. The monitoring system is active: the indicator lamp in the button flashes once per second.
A
fter the locking button on the remote controlis pressed, the exterior perimeter monitoringis activated after a delay of 5 seconds and theinterior volumetric and anti-tilt monitoring after a delay of 45 seconds.


Deactivation
)
Press the unlocking button on the remotecontrol.
The alarm system is deactivated: the indicator
lamp in the button goes off.


If an opening (door, boot...) is not closed fully, the vehicle is not lockedbut the exterior perimeter monitoring will be activated after a delay of 45 seconds at the same time asthe interior volumetric and anti-tilt monitoring.

Bonnet


Opening
)Open the front left door.)Pull the interior bonnet release lever A ,
located at the bottom of the door aperture.
) Push the exterior safety catch Bto the leftand raise the bonnet.
)
Unclip the stay C
from its housing on the back of the bonnet. )
Fix the stay in the notch to hold the bonnet open.


The location of the interior bonnet release lever prevents opening of the bonnet while the front left door isclosed.


Do not open the bonnet in high winds. When the engine is hot, handle theexterior safety catch and the bonnet
stay with care (risk of burns).
Before doing anything under the bonnet, switch off the Stop & Startsystem to avoid any risk of injury
resulting from an automatic change toSTA R T m o d e .


Closing
)
Take the stay out of the support notch. )
Clip the stay in its housing on the back of
the bonnet.) Lower the bonnet and release it at the endof its travel. )
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is secured correctly.

Running out of fuel
(Diesel)
On vehicle fitted with HDi engines, the fuelsystem must be primed if you run out of fuel; refer to the engine compar tment view on the "Diesel engine" page.


1.6 litre HDi engine
)
Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of
diesel. )
Open the bonnet.)
If necessary, unclip the styling cover for
access to the priming pump. ) Squeeze and release the priming pump
repeatedly until resistance is felt (there may
be resistance at the first press). ) Operate the star ter until the engine starts(if the engine does not star t at the first
attempt, wait around 15 seconds before
trying again). ) If the engine does not star t after a few
attempts, operate the priming pump again
then start the engine. ) Clip the styling cover back in place. )
Close the bonnet.


If the tank on your vehicle is fitted witha misfuel prevention device, refer to the section "Access - § Misfuel prevention(Diesel)".
2 litre HDi engin e
)Fill the fuel tank with at least five litres of
Diesel.)Open the bonnet. )If necessary, unclip the style cover for access to the priming pump. )Slacken the bleed screw.)Squeeze and release the priming pump repeatedly until fuel appears in the
transparent pipe.
)Tighten the bleed screw. )Operate the star ter until the engine star ts (if the engine fails to star t at the first attempt, wait around 15 seconds before
trying again).)If the engine fails to star t after severalattempts, operate the priming pump again,
then the starter. )Put the style cover back in position andclip it in place, ensuring that it has clippedcorrectly.)Close the bonnet.

If the engine does not star t first time, don't keep trying. Star t the procedureagain from the beginning.

Additive level (Diesel with
particle emissions filter
)
To p p i ng up
The reser voir must be topped up without delay
by a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop.

Used products

Avoid prolonged contact of used oil or fluids with the skin.
Most of these fluids are harmful tohealth or indeed very corrosive.

Do not discard used oil or fluids into sewers or onto the ground.
Take used oil to a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop (France) or to anauthorised waste disposal site.
)Open the bonnet and secure it withthe stay. )Open the screenwash reservoir filler cap. )Take and pinch the level gauge to block its breather. )Remove the gauge completely from
the reservoir to read the level in the
transparent section. )Top up if necessary. )Refit the filler cap to the reser voir and close the bonnet.

Specifi cation of the fl uid

To ensure optimum cleaning and to avoid
freezing, the fluid should never be topped up or
replaced by plain water. Accordin

the additive reser voir low level is indicated by:
-fixed illumination of the particle emissions filter warning lamp, accompanied by an audible signal anda message that the particle emissionsfilter additive level is too low,
