Régulateur-limiteur de vitesse : fonction régulateur (X52 - Dacia\
)
ENG_NU_993-5_X52_Dacia_2
The cruise control function helps you to
maintain your driving speed at a speed
that you choose, called the cruising
speed.
This cruising speed may be set at any
speed above 20 mph (30 km/h).
This function is an additio-
nal driving aid. However,
the function does not take
the place of the driver.
Therefore, it can under no circums-
tances replace the driver’s responsi-
bility to respect speed limits and to
be vigilant (the driver must always
be ready to brake).
Cruise control must not be used in
heavy traffic, on undulating or slip-
pery roads (black ice, aquaplaning,
gravel) and during bad weather (fog,
rain, side winds etc.).
There is a risk of accidents.
The cruise control function
is in no way linked to the
braking system.
Controls
1 Main “On/Off” switch.
2 Cruising speed activation, storage and increase switch (+).
3 Decreasing cruising speed (-).
4 Activation with recall of saved crui- sing speed (R).
5 Switch the function to standby (with cruising speed saved) (O).

Driving
Once a cruising speed is stored and
the cruise control function is active,
you may lift your foot off the accelera-
tor pedal.
Important: you are never-
theless advised to keep
your feet close to the pedals
in order to react if neces-
sary.
Activating cruise control
At a steady speed (above 18 mph
(30 km/h approximately)) press switch 2
or (+): the function is activated and the
current speed is saved.
The cruising speed replaces the
dashes and the cruise control is confir-
med by the appearance of the message
“CRUISE” and the warning light 6

being lit green, as well as the warning
light 7
.
Switching on
Press switch 1 side .
The warning light 6 comes on, lit green,
and the message “CRUISE” appears
on the instrument panel, accompanied
by dashes to indicate that the cruise
control function is activated and waiting
to store a cruising speed.

Exceeding the cruising speed
The cruising speed may be exceeded
at any time by depressing the accele-
rator pedal. While it is being exceeded,
the cruising speed flashes on the ins-
trument panel.
Then, release the accelerator: after a
few seconds, the vehicle will automa-
tically return to its set cruising speed.
Cruising speed cannot be
maintained
When driving down a steep gradient,
the system is unable to maintain the
cruising speed: the stored speed will
flash on the instrument panel informa-
tion display to inform you of this situa-
tion.
Adjusting the cruising speed
The cruising speed may be changed by
pressing the following repeatedly:
– switch 2 (+) to increase the speed,
– switch 3 (-) to decrease the speed.
The cruise control function
is in no way linked to the
braking system.

Switching off the function
The cruise control function is deactiva-
ted if you press switch 1 : in this case
a speed is no longer stored. The two
instrument panel warning lights
 and
go out to confirm that the function is
deactivated.
Returning to the cruising speed
If a speed is stored, it can be recalled,
once you are sure that the road condi-
tions are suitable (traffic, road sur-
face, weather conditions, etc.). Press
switch
4 (R) if the vehicle speed is
above 20 mph (30 km/h).
When the stored speed is recalled, acti-
vation of the cruise control is confirmed
by the illumination of the
 warning
light.
NB: if the speed previously stored is
much higher than the current speed,
the vehicle will accelerate more rapidly
to reach this threshold.
When the cruise control function is
put on standby, pressing switch 2
(+) reactivates the cruise control
function without taking into account
the stored speed: it is the speed at
which the vehicle is moving that is
taken into account.
Putting the function on
standby
The function is set to standby if you:
–  use the switch 5 (O);
–  the brake pedal;
– depress the clutch pedal or shift into neutral if the vehicle has an automa-
tic gearbox.
In all three cases, the cruising speed re-
mains stored and the message “MEM”
appears on the instrument panel.
Standby is confirmed when indicator
light
 goes out.
CRUISE CONTROL/SPEED LIMITER: cruise control function (4/4)
Putting the cruise control
on standby or switching it
off does not cause a rapid
reduction in speed: you
must brake by depressing the brake
pedal.

Aide au parking (X52 - Dacia)
ENG_NU_993-5_X52_Dacia_2
This function is an addi-
tional aid that indicates the
distance between the vehi-
cle and an obstacle whilst
reversing, using sound signals.
Under no circumstances should it
replace the driver’s care or respon-
sibility whilst reversing.
The driver should always look out
for sudden hazards during driving:
always ensure that there are no
moving obstacles (such as a child,
animal, pram, bicycle, etc.) or small,
narrow objects such as stones or
posts in your path when manoeu-
vring.
Operating principle
Ultrasonic sensors, fitted in the vehi-
cle’s rear bumper, measure the dis-
tance between the vehicle and an ob-
stacle when reversing.
This measurement is indicated by
beeps which become more frequent the
closer you come to the obstacle, until
they become a continuous beep when
the vehicle is approximately 40 centi-
metres from the obstacle.
There is a beep when reverse gear is
engaged. If the beep sounds for a long
time (3 seconds), this signals an oper-
ating fault.
NB: ensure that the ultrasonic sensors
are not obscured (by dirt, mud, snow,
etc.).
PARKING DISTANCE CONTROL (1/2)
An impact to the under-
side of the vehicle while
manoeuvring (e.g.: strik-
ing a post, raised kerb or
other street furniture) may result in
damage to the vehicle (e.g.: defor-
mation of an axle).
To avoid any risk of accident, have
your vehicle checked by an ap-
proved dealer.

OperationSwitch on the ignition.
The display on the instrument panel
switches on.
If neutral ( N) is displayed, start the
engine but do not depress the accel-
erator.
If any gear other than neutral is en-
gaged, N flashes on the display; press
the brake pedal and place the lever in
position N. Start the engine.
NB: Do not attempt to start the engine
by pushing the vehicle if the battery is
flat (the display remains off when the ig-
nition is switched on).
Under certain conditions, the engine
starter may take some time. Keep the
key in the starting position.
Starting
Moving forwards (starting in neutral)
The gear display shows N then A.
With the brake pedal depressed, posi-
tion the selector lever to D.
Release the brake pedal: – The engine’s idle speed is suffi-
cient for parking manoeuvres.
– Accelerate gently to move for-
wards. Reverse gear
 (from neutral, with the
vehicle stationary)
With the brake pedal depressed, posi-
tion the selector lever to R. The letter R
appears on the display.
Release the brake pedal:
– The engine’s idle speed is suffi-
cient for parking manoeuvres.
– Accelerate gently to reverse.
There is a beep when reverse gear is
engaged.
You may shift from reverse gear to a
forwards gear by pushing the lever to D
once the vehicle is stationary.
Note: When the vehicle is stationary,
you must depress the brake pedal to
engage a gear. Otherwise, warning
light
Ó will come on.
SEQUENTIAL GEARBOX (2/6)
Exactly like a vehicle
equipped with a manual
gearbox, a vehicle equipped
with a sequential gearbox is
unable to prevent the vehicle from
rolling on a slope if the handbrake is
not applied or the brake pedal con-
stantly depressed.

Driving in manual mode
This mode can be activated at any time
when driving by pushing the lever to po-
sition M.
To shift up a gear, simply push the se-
lector lever backwards without neces-
sarily releasing the accelerator.
To shift down a gear, simply push the
selector lever forwards without neces-
sarily releasing the accelerator. The system will not tolerate a series
of up or down changes that cause the
engine to underrev or overrev.
By pushing the lever backwards twice,
you can move up two gears at a time
(except if under-revving). By pushing
the lever forwards twice, you can move
down two gears at a time (except if
over-revving).
When decelerating with the foot off the
pedal, the gears will automatically drop
to the low engine speed limit to avoid
stalling. The vehicle may be kept sta-
tionary (stop, red light etc.) by depress-
ing the brake pedal without shifting into
neutral N.The vehicle will move off again:
– either slowly, if you release the brake
without accelerating (e.g. when in a
traffic jam),
– or quickly, if you release the brake and accelerate.
Note: Neutral N may only be selected
when the vehicle is being driven or is
stationary or without touching the brake
pedal.
If the engine speed is too high or too
low, the system will choose the opti-
mum gear.
Manual mode can be deactivated and
reactivated at any time with the engine
running by moving the lever to position
D and respectively to M.

Driving in automatic mode
Each time the ignition is switched on,
starting in neutral, place the lever to D
to be able to shift directly to automatic
mode.
The letter A appears on the display.
The vehicle is controlled using the ac-
celerator and the brake. Gears will
change automatically at the correct
moment and at a suitable engine speed
because automatic mode takes into
consideration the road surface and the
chosen driving style.
Note:
Automatic mode takes account of:
– the position and speed of depression of the accelerator pedal to assess
driving style and select the optimum
gear,
– action on the brake pedal, to com- mence engine braking in preparation
for a downshift.
When stopped at traffic lights, with the
gear engaged, you can keep the ve-
hicle stationary by pressing the brake
pedal without changing to neutral N.
The vehicle will move off again:
– either slowly, if you release the brake
without accelerating (e.g. when in a
traffic jam),
– or quickly, if you release the brake and accelerate.
Economical driving
When driving, always leave the lever
in position D , keeping the accelerator
pedal lightly depressed to ensure auto-
matic gear changes at a lower engine
speed.
SEQUENTIAL GEARBOX (4/6)
Accelerating and overtaking
– slowly depress the accelerator pedal to accelerate gradually,
– to obtain maximum vehicle per- formance regardless of the mode
selected (automatic or manual),
quickly depress the accelerator
pedal beyond the kickdown point.
The speed with which you depress
the pedal will allow you to downshift
according to the vehicle’s capabili-
ties.
If the engine is being overrevved or
underevved, the system will select
the optimal gear.
