What it means What to do
red
redENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE TOO HIGH
The warning light switches on when the ignition key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off after a few
seconds. The warning light turns on when the engine
is overheated.
The display shows the dedicated message. In normal driving conditions: stop the car, switch off
the engine and check that the water level in the
reservoir is not below the MIN mark. In this case, wait
for a few minutes to allow the engine to cool down,
then slowly and carefully open the cap. Top up with
coolant fluid making sure that it is included between
the MIN and MAX lines on the vessel. Also check
visually for any fluid leaks. If, when restarting, the
warning light switches on again, contact a Fiat
Dealership.
If the vehicle is used under demanding conditions (e.g.
towing trailers uphill or fully loaded): slow down and, if
the light stays on, stop the vehicle. Wait for 2 or 3
minutes with the engine running and slightly
accelerated to further favour the coolant circulation,
then stop the engine. Check that the coolant level is
correct as described above.
IMPORTANT Over demanding routes, it is advisable to
keep the engine on and slightly accelerated for a few
minutes before switching it off.
redLOW BATTERY CHARGE
The warning light switches on when the ignition key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off as soon as the
engine has started (with the engine idling a brief delay
before switching off is acceptable).
On some versions the display shows the dedicated
message. If the warning light stays on, contact a Fiat Dealership
immediately.

redLOW ENGINE OIL LEVEL
When turning the ignition key to MAR, the warning
light turns on but it should go off after a few seconds.
This warning light appears on the panel when the
engine oil level falls below the minimum recommended
value.
On certain versions a dedicated message is displayed.Restore the correct engine oil level (see “Checking fluid
levels” in the "Servicing and care" section).
redDOOR OPEN
On certain versions, the warning light turns on when
one or more doors or the boot are not properly closed.
On some versions the display shows the dedicated
message.Check that all doors or the boot (for versions/markets,
where provided) are perfectly closed.
redPOWER STEERING FAILURE
When the ignition key is turned to MAR-ON the
warning light on the dial turns on, but it should turn off
after a few seconds.
If the warning light stays on together with the message
shown on the display and a buzzer, the power steering
is ineffective and the effort on the steering wheel
increases significantly even though the vehicle can be
steered.Contact a Fiat Dealership.

WARNING
34)If thewarning light turns on while driving (on certain versions together with the message on the display) stop the car immediately and
contact a Fiat Dealership.
35)The warning light
may not light up when the key is turned to MAR or stay on while travelling to indicate a retaining system fault. In this
case, the airbags or the pretensioners may not be activated in the case of an accident or (in a lesser number of cases) they may be activated
incorrectly. Before continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership to have the system checked immediately.
36)A failure of the
warning light is indicated by thewarning light flashing or, depending on the version, by theicon turning on
continuously on the display. In this case, thewarning light may not indicate a possible problem with the airbag restraint system. Before
continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership to have the system checked immediately.
37)If the
warning light switches on when travelling (on certain versions together with the message on the display), stop the engine
immediately and contact a Fiat Dealership.
WARNING
9)If the warning light switches on, the degraded engine oil must be changed as soon as possible, and never more than 500 km from the first
time that the warning light switches on. Failure to observe the above may result in severe damage to the engine and invalidate the warranty.
The activation of this warning light is not related to the amount of oil in the engine. Therefore, never top up with oil when the warning light
starts flashing.

What it means What to do
amberABS FAILURE
The warning light switches on when the ignition key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off after a few
seconds.
The warning light will light up when the system is either
not working or not available. In this case the braking
system maintains its efficiency unaltered but without
the advantage of the ABS system.
On some versions the display shows the dedicated
message.Drive carefully and contact a Fiat Dealership as soon
as possible.
amberFUEL RESERVE
The warning light switches on when the ignition key is
turned to MAR, but it should switch off after a few
seconds. The warning light turns on when about6-7
litres of fuel are left in the tank.
The triangle on the right side of the symbol
indicates the side of the vehicle with the fuel filler. The warning light will blink to indicate a system fault. If
this is the case, go to a Fiat Dealership to have the
system checked.

What it means What to do
amberFuel cut-off inertia switch tripped
The warning light switches on when the fuel cut-off
inertia switch is tripped. The display shows the
dedicated message.
Parking sensor failure
(for versions/markets, where provided)
See parking sensor warning light section. In this case, the
warning light may not indicate a
possible problem with the airbag restraint system.
Before continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership to have
the system checked immediately.
Airbag failure warning light
Thewarning light turns on and flashes to indicate a
failure of the
warning light. In this case, the
warning light may not indicate a possible problem
with the airbag restraint system. Before continuing, contact a Fiat Dealership to have
the system checked immediately.
Start&Stop system failure
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The warning light comes on alternatively to the
warning light
when a Start&Stop system fault is
detected. In this case, contact the Fiat Service Network as soon
as possible.

WARNING
38)During regeneration, the fan could be operated.
39)The driving speed must always be suitable for traffic and weather conditions and the driver must always comply with the Highway Code.
The engine may be stopped if the DPF light is on; however, repeated interruption of the regeneration process may result in premature
deterioration of the engine oil. For this reason, always wait until the warning light switches off before stopping the engine as described above.
It is not advisable to complete DPF regeneration with the vehicle stationary.
WARNING
10)If, when the ignition key is turned to MAR, thewarning light does not switch on, switches on constantly or flashes when driving (on
certain versions together with the message on the display), contact a Fiat Dealership as soon as possible. The operation of thewarning
light may be checked by the traffic police using specific devices. Comply with the laws and regulations of the country where you are driving.
11)The presence of water in the fuel supply circuit may cause severe damage to the injection system and irregular engine operation. If the
warning light comes on (on some versions along with a message on the display), contact a Fiat Dealership as soon as possible to have
the system bled. If the above indication occurs immediately after refuelling, water may have entered the tank: turn the engine off immediately
and contact a Fiat Dealership.

ABS SYSTEM
This is an integral part of the braking
system, which prevents one or more
wheels from locking and slipping
regardless of the road surface
conditions and braking intensity,
ensuring control of the vehicle even
during emergency braking.
The Electronic Braking Force
Distribution (EBD) system completes
the system allowing the brake force to
be distributed between the front and
rear wheels.
IMPORTANT To obtain the maximum
efficiency of the braking system, a
bedding-in period of about 500 km is
needed: during this period it is better to
avoid sharp, repeated and prolonged
braking.
SYSTEM INTERVENTION
The driver can feel that the ABS has
come into action because the brake
pedal pulsates slightly and the system
gets noisier: it means that the vehicle
speed should be altered to suit the type
of road surface.MECHANICAL BRAKE
ASSIST
(for versions/markets, where provided)
This system (which cannot be
deactivated) recognises emergency
braking conditions according to the
speed of operation of the brake pedal
and provides an additional hydraulic
braking pressure to support that
provided by the driver. This allows
faster and more powerful operation of
the braking system.
IMPORTANT When the Mechanical
Brake Assist intervenes, noises may be
heard from the system. This is normal.
In any case, while braking keep the
brake pedal firmly depressed.
41) 42) 43)
FAULT WARNINGS
ABS failure
This is indicated by turning on the
warning light on the instrument
panel together with a message on the
display on some versions (see the
“Warning lights and messages”
paragraph in the “Knowing the
instrument panel” chapter). In this case, the braking system will still
be effective, although without the
extra capacity offered by the ABS. Drive
carefully to the nearest Fiat Dealership
to have the system checked.
EBD failure
This is indicated by turning on the
andwarning light on the
instrument panel together with
a message on the display on some
versions (see the “Warning lights and
messages” paragraph in the “Knowing
the instrument panel” chapter).
In this case, the rear wheels may
suddenly lock and the vehicle may
swerve when braking sharply. Drive
carefully to the nearest Fiat Dealership
to have the system checked.
44)
WARNING
41)When the ABS cuts in and you feel the
brake pedal pulsating, do not remove
your foot, but keep the pedal pushed
down; in doing so you, will stop in the
shortest distance possible under the road
conditions at the time.
42)If the ABS system intervenes, this
indicates that the traction of the tyres on
the road is nearing its limit. You must slow
down to a speed compatible with the
available traction.
72
SAFETY

52)Do not take unnecessary risks, even if
your vehicle is fitted with this system.
Your driving style must always be suited to
the road conditions, visibility and traffic.
The driver is always responsible for road
safety.
53)The HBA system cannot overrule the
natural laws of physics, and cannot
increase the grip available according to the
condition of the road.
54)The HBA system cannot prevent
accidents, including those due to excessive
speed on corners, driving on low-grip
surfaces or aquaplaning.
55)The capability of the HBA must never
be tested irresponsibly and dangerously, in
such a way as to compromise personal
safety and the safety of others.iTPMS System
(indirect Tyre
Pressure
Monitoring System)
(for versions/markets, where provided)
The indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring
System iTPMS can monitor the tyre
inflation status through the wheel speed
sensors. The system warns the driver
if one or more tyres are flat by switching
on the
warning light on the
instrument panel and a warning
message on the display, along with an
acoustic signal.
It is advisable to check the pressure of
all four tyres. This indication is displayed
also when turning the engine off and
on until the “Reset” procedure is carried
out.
“Reset” procedure
The iTPMS needs an initial "self-
learning" phase (with length depending
on the driving style and road conditions:
optimal conditions being driving on a
straight road at 80 km/h for at least 20
minutes) which starts when the “Reset”
procedure is carried out.
The “Reset” procedure must be carried
out:
each time tyre pressure is modified;
when even only one tyre is changed;
when tyres are rotated/inverted;
when the space-saver wheel is
fitted. Before carrying out the “Reset”
procedure, inflate the tyres to the rated
pressure values specified in the inflation
pressure table (see "Wheels" paragraph
in the "Technical specifications"
chapter).
If the “Reset” procedure is not carried
out, in all above cases, the
warning
light may give false indications on
one or more tyres.
To carry out the “Reset” procedure,
with the vehicle stopped and the
ignition device at MAR, use the Setup
Menu as follows:
briefly press thebutton: the
display will show "Reset";
press thebutton or the
button to select ("Yes" or "No");
briefly press thebutton: the
display will show "Confirm";
pressbutton orto select
("Yes" to “Reset” or "No" to exit the
video page);
press thebutton again to return
to the standard screen or to the main
menu according to where you are in the
menu.
After the “Reset” the display will show
the "Reset saved" message, indicating
that the "self-learning" has been
started.

Operating conditions
The system is active for speeds above
15 km/h. In a few situations such as
sporty driving, particular conditions of
the road surface (e.g. icy, snowy,
unsurfaced roads...) the signalling may
be delayed or partial in detecting the
contemporary deflation of more than
one tyre. Under special conditions (e.g.
vehicle loaded asymmetrically on one
side, towing a trailer, damaged or worn
tyre, fitting the space-saver wheel,
use of the "Fix&Go Automatic"
kit, fitting snow chains, fitting different
tyres on the axles) the system may give
false indications or be temporarily
deactivated.
If the system is temporarily deactivated,
the warning light
flashes for about
75 seconds and then is continuously
on; at the same time, the display shows
a dedicated message. This warning is
displayed also after the engine has
been switched off and then on again if
the correct operating conditions are not
restored.
56) 57) 58) 59) 60) 61) 62) 63) 64) 65)
WARNING
56)The iTPMS is optimised for the original
tyres and wheels provided. iTPMS
pressures and alerts have been defined
according to the size of the tyres mounted
on the vehicle. Using equipment with
different size, type or kind may cause
irregular system operation or sensor
damage. Non-original spare wheels can
damage the sensor. Do not use tyre
sealant or balancing weights if the vehicle
is equipped with iTPMS as these may
damage the sensors.
57)If the system signals a pressure
decrease on a specific tyre, it is
recommended to check the pressure on all
four tyres.
58)The iTPMS does not relieve the driver
from the obligation to check the tyre
pressure every month; it is not even to be
considered a replacement system for
maintenance or a safety system.
59)Tyre pressure must be checked with
tyres cold. Should it become necessary for
whatever reason to check pressure with
warm tyres, do not reduce pressure even
though it is higher than the prescribed
value, but repeat the check when tyres are
cold.
60)The iTPMS cannot indicate sudden tyre
pressure drops (for example when a tyre
bursts). In this case, stop the vehicle,
braking with caution and avoiding abrupt
steering.61)The system only warns that the tyre
pressure is low: it is not able to inflate
them.
62)Insufficient tyre inflation increases fuel
consumption, reduces the tread duration
and may affect your ability to drive the
vehicle safely.
63)Always refit the valve stem cap after
inspecting or adjusting tyre pressure. This
prevents dampness or dirt from entering
the valve stem and thus the pressure
control sensor from being damaged.
64)The tyre repair kit (Fix&Go) provided
with the vehicle (for versions/markets,
where provided) is compatible with the
iTPMS sensors; using sealants not
equivalent with that in the original kit may
adversely affect its operation. If sealants
not equivalent with the original ones are
used, it is recommended to have the
iTPMS sensor operation checked by a
qualified repair centre.
65)If the system signals a loss of pressure
on a specific tyre, it is recommended to
check the pressure on all four tyres.

SEAT BELTS
MAINTENANCE
For keeping the seat belts in efficient
conditions, carefully observe the
following warnings:
always use the seat belt with the
strap well stretched and not twisted;
make sure that it is free to run without
obstructions;
check seat belt operation as follows:
attach the seat belt and pull it hard;
replace the seat belt after an
accident of a certain severity even if it
does not appear to be damaged.
Always replace the seat belt if
the pretensioners were deployed;
prevent the retractors from getting
wet: their correct operation is only
guaranteed if water does not get inside;
replace the seat belt when it shows
wear or cuts.
WARNING
69)The pretensioner may be used only
once. After it is triggered, have it replaced
at a Fiat Dealership.
70)For maximum safety, keep the back of
your seat upright, lean back into it and
make sure the seat belt fits closely across
your chest and pelvis. Always fasten the
seat belts on both the front and the rear
seats! Travelling without wearing seat belts
will increase the risk of serious injury or
even death in the event of an accident.
71)Removing or tampering with the seat
belt and pretensioner components is
strictly prohibited. Any intervention on
these components must be performed by
qualified and authorised technicians.
Always contact a Fiat Dealership.
72)If the seat belt has been subjected to a
high level of stress, for example after an
accident, it must be completely replaced
together with the anchorages, anchorage
fixing screws and pretensioner. In fact,
even if the seat belt has no visible defects,
it could have lost its resilience.
WARNING
12)Operations which lead to knocks,
vibrations or localised heating (over 100°C
for a maximum of 6 hours) in the area
around the pretensioners may cause
damage or trigger them. These devices are
not affected by vibrations caused by
irregularities of the road surface or low
obstacles such as kerbs, etc. Contact a
Fiat Dealership for any assistance.
