The tilt lever is located on the left side of the
steering column, under the turn signal lever.
To tilt, hold the steering wheel and pull the tilt lever
toward you. Move the wheel to a comfortable level,
then release the tilt lever to lock the wheel in place.
Do not adjust the steering wheel while driving.
Turn Signal/Multifunction Lever
The lever on the left side of the steering column
includes the following:

Turn Signal On Chime
If a turn signal is left on for more than 3/4 of
a mile (1.2 km), a chime will sound at each ash
of the turn signal and the message TURN SIGNAL
will also appear in the DIC. To turn the chime
and message off, move the turn signal lever to
the off position.

Headlamp High/Low-Beam Changer
53(Headlamp High/Low Beam Changer):
To change the headlamps from low to high beam,
push the lever toward the instrument panel.
To return to low-beam headlamps, pull the
multifunction lever toward you. Then release it.
When the high beams
are on, this indicator light
on the instrument panel
cluster will also be on.
Flash-to-Pass
This feature lets you use the high-beam
headlamps to signal a driver in front of you that
you want to pass. It works even if the headlamps
are in the automatic position.
To use it, pull the turn signal lever toward you,
then release it.
If your headlamps are in the automatic position or
on low beam, your high-beam headlamps will
turn on. They will stay on as long as you hold the
lever toward you. The high-beam indicator on
the instrument panel cluster will come on. Release
the lever to return to normal operation.
Windshield Wipers
You control the windshield wipers by turning the
band with the wiper symbol on it.
The windshield wipers work in all ignition positions,
except off. This includes the Retained Access
Power mode. SeeRetained Accessory
Power (RAP) on page 117.
8(Mist):For a single wiping cycle, turn the band
to mist. Hold it there until the wipers start. Then let
go. The wipers will stop after one wipe. If you want
more wipes, hold the band on mist longer.

Security Light
This light will come on
briey when you turn
the key to START. The
light will stay on until
the engine starts.
If the ignition is turned on, and the light ashes,
the Passlock
®system has entered a tamper
mode. If the vehicle fails to start, seePasslock®
on page 114.
If the light comes on continuously while driving
and stays on, there may be a problem with
the Passlock
®system. Your vehicle will not be
protected by Passlock®, and you should see
your dealer.

Cruise Control Light
This light comes on
whenever you set the
cruise control.
The light goes out when the cruise control is
turned off. SeeCruise Control on page 163for
more information.
Highbeam On Light
This light comes on
whenever the
high-beam headlamps
are on.

Using Song List Mode
The six-disc CD changer has a feature called
song list. This feature is capable of saving 20 track
selections.
To save tracks into the song list feature, perform
the following steps:
1. Turn the CD player on and load it with at least
one CD. See “LOAD CD” listed previously in
this section for more information.
2. Check to see that the CD changer is not in
song list mode. S-LIST should not appear on
the display. If S-LIST is present, press the
SONG LIST button to turn it off.
3. Select the desired CD by pressing the
numbered pushbutton and then use the SEEK
or TYPE right arrow to locate the track to
be saved. The track begins to play.4. Press and hold the SONG LIST button to
save the track into memory. When SONG
LIST is pressed, one beep will sound.
After two seconds of continuously pressing
the SONG LIST button, two beeps will sound
to conrm the track has been saved.
5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for saving other
selections.
S-LIST FULL appears on the display if you try to
save more than 20 selections.
To play the song list, press the SONG LIST
button. One beep will sound and S-LIST appears
on the display. The recorded tracks begins to
play in the order they were saved.
Seek through the song list by using the SEEK or
TYPE arrows. Seeking past the last saved
track returns to the rst saved track.
